Salaar puts Distributors in High-Tension Mode. The recent results of some big Pan-Indian films and changes in the business dynamics have affected the film’s business. Usually, the Salaar producers of Hombale films always release their movies on their own by taking advances from distributors. Salaar puts Distributors in High-Tension Mode.

All the films from Hombale Films in Telugu states were released with the production house taking advances, but for the first time with Salaar, they sold the movie to distributors on NRA Basis, and the film was sold at huge prices. The producers are said to have expected even more business from Salaar.

But for many reasons, the business was done under their expectations, but still, those prices are high. In Nizam, the breakeven value of Salaar is at 65Cr. Till now, excluding non-SSR films, no movie has collected even a 50Cr share in Nizam. The same goes with all areas as the film has been sold at significantly higher prices.

The Business issues for Salaar

Now, as the film’s trailer did not work in the expected range and producers did not do any promotions to raise the buzz, the situation is getting tough for distributors. The distributors are quoting at massive prices, but the buyers are not interested in those prices. Also, the distributors are not getting big hires or MG offers from buyers for Salaar. The buyers say that the recent big film results have affected them a lot, and it is impossible to give the entire money before the release, which has put distributors in an agitated mode as it seems getting the total amount from buyers is not at this moment. Now they need to face a big risk with the result of Salaar. If the movie succeeds, they will be safe, but if it fails, they must face heavy losses as the buyers are not ready to give total amounts.
