The film is now streaming in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam on one of the top OTT platforms, Netflix. However, the Hindi version of the film is not available right now and is expected to be out at the February Month-end. The film’s response upon its OTT arrival will decide the craze of its sequel.
Salaar’s Plot
Set in the fictional dystopian city-state of Khansaar, the narrative centers around the deep bond shared between Deva (Prabhas), a tribesman, and Varadha (Prithviraj), the prince of Khansaar. As Varadha finds himself confronted with a meticulously planned coup d’état orchestrated by his father’s ministers and relatives, he turns to Deva for assistance in his quest to establish his undisputed reign over Khansaar.
The initial idea for this film is taken from Neel’s debut work, Ugramm (2014), and it serves as the first chapter in a two-part film series. The movie’s announcement occurred in December 2020, followed by principal photography in January 2021 in the picturesque surroundings of Godavarikhani, Telangana. Ravi Basrur skillfully composed the music for the film, while Bhuvan Gowda expertly handled the cinematography.
Salaar Cast and Crew
The film boasts an exceptional ensemble cast, with Prabhas portraying the character of Salaar and Prithviraj Sukumaran bringing Vardharaja Mannaar to life. Shruti Hassan embodies the role of Aadhya, while Jagapathi Babu represents Rajamannaar. The cast includes Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Ramachandra Raju, Madhu Guruswamy, Saptagiri, Prudhvi Raj, Jhansi, and Mime Gopi. Salaar was released in theaters worldwide on December 22. Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire was screened in standard and IMAX formats, debuting in Telugu and dubbed versions in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam.
