Actor Vijay Deverakonda received a police complaint over his comments on tribal people. A lawyer from Hyderabad, Lal Chauhan, filed a complaint against Vijay for his remarks at the Retro pre-release event. Vijay Deverakonda explains his remarks as he releases an apology letter.

During Suriya’s Retro Pre-Release event, Vijay talked about the Pahalgam terrorist attack and condemned it. He then called out Pakistan and terrorists, stating, “India doesn’t even need to attack Pakistan because Pakistanis themselves are fed up with their government and will attack them if this continues. Asalu 500 years back tribals kokkutunnatu, veelu buddi lekunda, minimum common sense lekunda chese panulu. (They behave like tribals did 500 years ago, fighting without common sense.)

This led to an uproar as some people felt the actor did not speak correctly and demanded an apology. Vijay Deverakonda explains his remarks as he releases an apology letter.

Deverakonda said, “There was absolutely no intention to hurt or target any community, especially our Scheduled Tribes, who I deeply respect and consider an integral part of our country.” “I was speaking about unity, about how India is one, our people are one, and how we must move forward together.” “In what world would I, while urging us to stand united as a country, deliberately discriminate against any group of Indians?”

A terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, killed 28 tourists and injured many on April 22. Many celebrities condemned the attack and urged the government to act against the terrorists. During Suriya’s Retro Pre-Release event, Vijay recalled his visit to Pahalgam during the Kushi shoot two years ago.
