Ravi Teja’s Ravanasura was one of the most eagerly anticipated Tollywood movies of 2023. The main reason behind this was Mass Maharaja’s unique characterization with grey shades and a long star cast that featured Fariah Abdullah, Sushant, Anu Emanuel, Poojita Ponnada, Megha Akash and Daksha Nagarkar among others.
Unfortunately, the film failed to impress the audience and apart from Ravi Teja’s smashing performance in a negative role, nothing else worked in this Sudheer Varma film. Ravi Teja himself co-produced this movie alongside Abhishek Nama’s Abhishek Pictures.
Ravi Teja believed so much in Ravanasura and he was one of the producers for this film under his banner RT Frameworks. The film did not perform up to his high expectations and brought big losses to buyers. He has now decided to compensate the buyers for these losses to a certain extent.
The theatrical rights of this film were valued at Rs 22 crs and the film has only managed to collect a share of Rs 11.95 crs. After a great start to the year with Dhamaka which ran to great occupancies till Sankranti and Waltair Veerayya which emerged as the Sankranti blockbuster, Ravanasura put a break to Mass Maharaja’s winning streak. Now all eyes are on his next release of this year- Tiger Nageswara Rao.
