Rashmika Mandanna’s female-led project officially announced with Pooja formalities. Actor and director Rahul Ravindran, who helmed the National Award-winning Chi La Sow and Manmadhudu 2, has begun working on his third film, titled The Girlfriend. The movie, which was formally announced recently, features Rashmika Mandanna as the lead. The film, jointly produced by Geetha Arts, Mass Movie Makers and Dheeraj Entertainment, was launched today with a Pooja ceremony.
The launch event was attended by many directors, including Baby filmmaker Sai Rajesh, Pavan Sadineni (who directed Daya Web Series and Senapathi), Karuna Kumar (who is soon directing Varun Tej’s Matka), Maruthi (who is directing Prabhas’ horror comedy). The script was handed over to Rahul Ravidran by veteran producer Allu Aravind after clapping the board. Rashmika Mandanna’s female-led project officially announced with Pooja formalities.
The shoot is scheduled to start soon. Hesham Abdul Wahab, who has composed music for Kushi, Spark, and Hi Nanna, has been hired as the composer. Krishnan Vasant is the director of photography for the movie, and production design is being taken care of by S Ramakrishna and Monika Nigotre (who formerly worked on Rangasthalam). Shravya Varma is the costume designer.
When the first look of the film was launched a few weeks ago, Rashmika, while talking about the project, said, “The world is full of great love stories. But there are those few love stories that haven’t been heard or seen before. And ‘The Girlfriend’ is one such.”
The actress, who is eagerly anticipating the release of Animal this week, also has films like Chaava, D51, Rainbow, and Pushpa 2 on her list. Fans are delighted that Rashmika Mandanna’s female-led project has been officially announced with Pooja formalities.
