Gopichand’s Ramabanam was released to poor reviews and weak word of mouth with the audience as well as critics terming the movie outdated and routine. The movie is performing terribly in theatres and is on its way to becoming a box office failure. Apart from the movie’s poor execution, there were several issues during its production stage as well that led to higher production costs.
Reportedly director Sriwass’ prolonged production schedules without proper pre-planning led to a higher production budget. In fact, the production almost doubled and so did the time taken to shoot the movie which led to some differences between Gopichand and Sriwass.
The makers were forced to release the movie in deficit as the business didn’t work out as expected. Now, after the release of the film and disastrous numbers, Ramabanam is expected to end up with less than 5Cr at the box office. The film has emerged as a heavy loss venture for all the involved parties.
