In a recent media interaction, Bollywood star director Rajkumar Hirani spoke about Dunki, his future projects, and his experience of working with Shahrukh Khan. He said, “SRK was very curious about this story, he is a brave man and brave actor and he was very happy with the story. I wanted to work with Shah Rukh Khan for a long time…he is a great man who showers love on everybody”.
Regarding Dunki’s response Raj Kumar Hirani said that many people are saying he was brave enough to do a story film and a complete content film in this era where people are mainly watching action films, I am very happy with Dunki’s response.
When asked about the much-anticipated Munna Bhai 3, he said, “Both the Munna Bhai MBBS films were made so good, I have 5 half-written scripts with me but till I can match the script (of new movie) to those two movies, I won’t make it…I have a lot of interest in making another Munna Bhai MBBS movie, but not sure when.”
“Sanju and I often discuss about Munna Bhai 3. He also tells me to make it. Dunki has just been finished…now I will go through the collection of the old stories that I have. I want to make Munna Bhai 3 but I don’t know when”.
Speaking about his next project and genre, he said, “I am jumping genres and trying to make something different from ‘Munnabhai’ to ‘3 Idiots’ to ‘PK’ to ‘Sanju’, and now ‘Dunki.”
