Rajinikanth’s political plans were the reason for Darbar failure says AR Murugadoss

One of India’s most prominent directors, director AR Murugadoss, continues to produce good films as a producer. In this process, his film 16 August 1947, directed by NS Ponkumar and starring actor Gautham Karthik, will be released in theaters worldwide on April 7. As a part of promotions of the film, director AR Murugadoss, who spoke in a media interview, talked about Darbar, his last directorial with none other than Superstar Rajinikanth.

In the interview, Murugadoss said that the reason for Darbar’s failure is the political plans of Rajinikanth. He said when every movie has a reason to win, there will also be a reason to lose. Just like every film is our first film, that story is our first story. It’s a fresh experience.

As far as Darbar is concerned, what I have become more than a point of time is that I had a misunderstanding of myself, that we had completely come to doing the film and writing the script.

According to Murugadoss during the filming of Darbar, Rajini sir gave him a date and said it should start in March. The rainy season begins in Bombay in June. Also, Rajini was about to launch the party in August. So, he had to go for the shoot in February to complete by the said time. ARM said that he was a die-hard Rajini fan, so he didn’t want to miss the film for any reason.

However, the shooting went on in March. But the film was supposed to be completed by June. So Murugadoss made an account so that he wouldn’t miss this film. During the interview, Murugadoss remembered Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan.

Aamir Khan once told a big secret. That is,”If you announce the release date of a movie at the very beginning, the movie is 50% flop.” As he said, I realized it was true during this film said Murugadoss.
