Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh is making his Telugu debut, and he’s doing it with Ram Pothineni’s RAPO23. The actor has joined the film’s ongoing shoot in Hyderabad.
The makers also shared a behind-the-scenes video from the sets. Riteish is seen walking onto the massive set with his face kept hidden, and Ram greets him with a warm hug.
Ram Turns Director
RAPO23 is special for another reason. It marks Ram Pothineni’s debut as a director. Ram has also written the film, and he’s handling both acting and direction.
He’s said to be personally choosing the cast and crew, with every pick made to suit the story. The makers describe the film as a psychological action thriller set in a neo-noir world, a first of its kind for Ram.

Riteish was impressed by the script and his character and agreed to the film right away. He plays a pivotal role in the movie.
Riteish has built a reputation for range in Hindi cinema, from the villain in Ek Villain to his role in Raid 2. His latest film, Raja Shivaji, has been a big success. Bringing an actor of his calibre into a Telugu film shows how seriously Ram is approaching his first project as a director.

Samyuktha, known for hits like Bimbisara and Virupaksha, plays the female lead. Several other notable actors also play important roles.
