Rajnikanth’s Jailer has been dominating the box office for a while and generated more than 600 crores worldwide (including a net domestic box office of 320 crore). The film recently completed its third week and has already set multiple records in various territories. Now it creates a new history for Tamil Cinema.
The film, Jailer’s Tamil version, crossed 500Cr gross, and it happens to be the 1st film to cross 500Cr in only Tamil version. The South Indian films which collected more than 500Cr in single language are here.

The jailer was released in theaters globally on August 10. Nelson is the director of the film, which is centered around the character called Tiger Muthuvel Pandian who is a retired Jailer. Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vinayakan, Vasanth Ravi, and Yogi Babu were also featured in key roles in the film. Malayalam legend Mohanlal and Kannada legend Shivarajkumar played explosive cameos in the movie, giving it a greater success. Superstar Rajini’s mass appeal and Anirudh’s roaring music played a significant role in making the movie a Kollywood industry hit.
