Rajinikanth made the best decision by not signing Chandramukhi 2

When the thought of Chandramukhi 2 was conceived, director P Vasu had only Rajinikanth in mind. In fact, the discussion of casting Rajinikanth in the Chandramukhi sequel happened multiple times. However, Rajinikanth continuously refused to be a part of the sequel and had no hesitation in turning it down.

This was when Raghava Lawrence was brought on board to replace the mighty Superstar in this sequel. Even though Lawrence is a specialist in doing horror comedy films, everyone had their doubts right when the project was announced. These concerns over the project’s viability became stronger during promotions and teasers. And now after the release the film is heading towards losses in Telugu and performing average in Tamil.

The audience felt it was just unnecessary to make a Chandramukhi sequel and this film is nowhere near to 1st part. The team has spoiled the Chandramukhi brand and Rajini fans are breathing a sigh of relief at their star refusing this film. Had Rajinikanth worked on this film, then the entire momentum and high of the blockbuster Jailer would have been smashed and the veteran star would have faced heavy criticism.
