Raid 2 starring Ajay Devgan has locked its release date officially. The makers have announced that the film will arrive on 21st February next year. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor in the female lead alongside Riteish Deshmukh playing a pivotal role. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta the film is an official sequel of blockbuster, Raid released in 2018.
Raid became a big hit and gave a major relief to Ajay Devgan as well then. The film was about an Income Tax raid done on a businessman by one honest officer amid major threats. The film was also remade in Telugu recently as Mr. Bachchan starring Ravi Teja. But Mr. Bachchan couldn’t replicate the success of Raid and became a big box office disaster. The film also drew criticism for its direction and changes in the story.
Ajay Devgan is currently busy with Singham Again directed by Rohit Shetty and De De Pyaar De 2. His recent film, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha has completely disappointed the audience. It was also the same case with Maidaan. So, he looks to bounce back hard with Raid 2 now. Singham Again is nearing the completion of shoot and may release during the Diwali season this year.
