Overall, Pushpa 2 is a mass commercial entertainer with several flaws. The strong characters from Pushpa 1 feel very ordinary in this sequel and lack significant impact. Sukumar, who usually focuses on detailed calculations and logic, seems to have delivered a high-end mass film this time, and it works. In simple terms, it’s like a Boyapati-style mass film from Sukumar, which is sure to succeed at the box office.

Pushpa 2’s second half is commercially stronger compared to the first half. The elevation and action episodes are designed very well, with the Jathara episode being the highlight of the film. However, the lead scenes building up to the high-action moments are not convincing. The pre-climax and the climax cliffhanger setting up the third part feel underwhelming. The climax fight showcases brilliant acting from Allu Arjun, but the buildup to it is not impactful.

The first half of Pushpa 2 is packed with elevations and mass scenes. Allu Arjun is in full fire mode, but the issue lies in the lack of strong characters to match his intensity. The positive aspect is the engaging first half, though it doesn’t reach the level of being truly extraordinary, and Sukumar’s signature style is notably missing. The pre-interval sequence sets the stage well for a promising second half, which is expected to be highly impactful.

10:40 PM IST: The Peelings song and the romantic comedy track work well for the mass audience.
