Shankar’s Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan is one of the most ambitious pan-Indian projects in the making right now. The film, just like its predecessor will be shot on a grand scale with a social message crafted to suit contemporary issues of India. Co-produced by Lyca Productions and Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies, this film has faced several delays and legal hurdles making film lovers quite anxious.
While part 2 is still in making Udhayanidhi Stalin has hinted at the next part -Indian 3 sometime in the future. He stated that the team shot a lot of footage and the discussions are happening for 3rd part too. There is a massive buzz around this film’s sequel. And if the unit decides to go for 3rd part, then it will be the biggest franchise at the pan-India level.
Indian 2 movie’s complete shooting is said to be wrapped up by the end of this month. As per the original plan, the film was to be released during the 2024 Pongal season. But, there are reports emerging that it might hit the screens slightly later i.e. during Summer 2024.
Indian 2 also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Priya Bhavani Shankar in pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander will compose music for this Kamal Haasan starter after delivering chartbuster album for the senior star’s last film Vikram.
