Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy opened to great collections and registered Balayya’s career-best day 1 numbers. Veera Simha Reddy recorded a solid Rs 28. 63 crores worldwide and Rs 23.13 crores from Telugu states alone on its first day.
This is Balayya’s best ever by a comfortable margin and the makers expected a similar show on Day 2. However, it didn’t happen and the film saw considerable drops on second day.
The film held pretty well in Ceded on day 2 but in other territories, the movie witnessed a big drop in collections. A was quite expected as Waltair Veerayya also released today along with it being a pre-festival time, but such a big wasn’t foreseen and the makers are hoping for a solid turnaround for the weekend. The performance of this film over the weekend will decide its fate and all fingers are crossed in anticipation of a good festive time performance.
Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film also starred Shruti Haasan, Honey Rose, Duniya Vijay, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in key roles. Veera Simha Reddy opened to mostly mixed reviews however, Balayya’s solid performance and towering screen presence helped in solid opening day collections.
