Director Prasanth Varma had earlier last year confirmed that the sequel to his 2018 film Awe is on! On the second anniversary of Awe on February 16, 2020, Varma took to Twitter and wrote: “Good news. Awe 2 is on. Will start shooting as soon as I finish my commitments.”
Awe 2 unlike its prequel will be having only one story and it will be intriguing and gripping. However, the movie has now run into multiple delays. Varma recently explained why the sequel has come to a standstill. A Bollywood star was finalized for Awe 2. Once everything was set, the Bollywood star cited dates problem leading to delays in the shoot.
Kajal Agarwal, Regina Cassandra, Eesha Rebba, Nithya Menen, and Murali Sharma starred in Awe which was well appreciated by critics and audience.
Awe 2 is said to be completely different from its prequel. Unlike the previous part, the upcoming film will explore something never done before in Tollywood. Awe dealt with psychological issues and social problems like homophobia, child abuse, sexual abuse, and drug addiction among others.
