Ram Charan and director Buchi Babu’s highly anticipated sports drama Peddi has been postponed again, marking yet another delay in the film’s journey to theaters.
From March to April to June
The film was initially announced for a March 27 release to coincide with Ram Charan’s birthday. However, as the shoot did not progress as planned, the team shifted the release to April 30.
Over the past few days, strong indications emerged that the film might not make the April 30 date either, due to pending shoot portions and post-production work. The team had been racing against time to meet the release deadline, but the remaining work proved too substantial.
New Release Date Expected Soon
Now, the Peddi team has decided to postpone the film once again, with the new release planned for June, most likely towards the end of the month. An official announcement is expected very soon.
With Ram Charan’s birthday falling on March 27, the makers are likely to use the occasion to reveal the new release date along with fresh promotional content. The delay comes as the team prioritizes completing the film with the quality it deserves rather than rushing to meet an earlier deadline.
Production Journey
The postponement continues a pattern of delays for Peddi. Earlier, when the film's first half was locked, the team had headed to Pune for the next schedule, showing confidence in meeting the April deadline.
The sports drama has been one of the most awaited films in Tollywood, bringing together Ram Charan and acclaimed director Buchi Babu for the first time. The film’s production has involved extensive preparation and shooting schedules across multiple locations.
While fans will have to wait longer to see Ram Charan in this new avatar, the team’s decision to prioritize quality over rushed timelines signals their commitment to delivering a polished final product. The June release window could also provide better box office prospects with reduced competition during that period.
