Peddi, starring Ram Charan, recorded a below-par performance in its first weekend at the box office. The film collected approximately ₹235 crore worldwide gross but achieved only 50% recovery against its ₹470 crore breakeven target across all languages.
Telugu Markets Show Decent Recovery
In the Telugu States, Peddi posted a decent-to-good weekend with more than 60% recovery. However, the film needs to hold strongly on weekdays to achieve breakeven even in this core territory.
The Rest of India (ROI) Telugu markets also recorded decent numbers with over 60% recovery, but sustaining momentum in the coming days remains critical.
Hindi Version Turns Disastrous
The Hindi version has turned out to be a major disappointment, collecting only around ₹12 crore nett in India during its first weekend. This poor performance in the Hindi belt adds significant pressure on the film’s overall recovery.
Overseas Collections Disappoint
Peddi faced a challenging opening in overseas markets. The breakeven target is valued at around $9 million, while the movie has collected only about $4.5 million as per estimates, resulting in just 50% recovery.
Since overseas collections are largely driven by the opening weekend, even reaching $6 million in its full run looks very difficult at the current trend. The film’s overseas performance mirrors recent underperformers like Dacoit, which also recorded 50% recovery in its opening weekend.
Territory-Wise Recovery Analysis
| Territory | Recovery Status | Performance |
|---|---|---|
| Telugu States | 60%+ | Decent to Good |
| ROI Telugu | 60%+ | Decent |
| Hindi Belt | Very Low | Disastrous |
| Overseas | 50% | Disappointing |
Uphill Battle Ahead
With only 50% recovery from its first weekend and ₹235 crore out of the required ₹470 crore gross already collected, Peddi faces a challenging road ahead. The film needs exceptional weekday holds across all territories to salvage its theatrical run and move toward breakeven.
