Pawan Kalyan’s OG is also a high risky project

After Bro, now all eyes are on Pawan Kalyan’s next project- OG. The film, which is set to release later this year has attracted a great deal of attention and anticipation from fans as well as the general audience. Directed by Sujeeth who last made Prabhas’ Saaho, this gangster drama promises to show Power Star in an out-and-out intense characterization.

While OG will be high on commercial elements, it’s not going to be a safe path for Pawan and Sujeeth as the film is based on a risky subject. The Telugu audience is usually keen on typical gangster genre movies and we have seen that many gangster films have failed at the box office. This includes Pawan’s own gangster-themed film- Panja.

Gangster films need big action blocks and racy screenplay to do great at the box office. But Pawan Kalyan’s dates are said to be quite limited as of now and there is no clue about the action episodes in the film. Pawan’s Panjaa film was a disaster at the box office and Sujeeth must be extra cautious about the initial hype, which is great for now and fans are quite excited for the project.

But, it is the general audience who will decide the fate of the movie and for them, the narration has to be gripping. Merely pandering to fan’s nostalgia or a hero’s image will not work as we have seen in case of Bro.
