Game Changer had a great hype and expectations before its release. The overseas rights were also sold for around 24 crores. Many buyers felt it as a jackpot deal as the overseas breakeven mark is around $6.5 Million which is a safe bet. The trade expected it to be recovered within the first weekend with the advantage of Sankranthi festival.

But shockingly, Game Changer failed to create the euphoria as expected which greatly impacted the opening. The film received only mixed to below par word of mouth and reviews which resulted in a heavy loss venture now for the buyers. The film has managed to collect around $3.1 Million in 5 days and will end up around $3.5 Million. The breakeven mark is at $6.5 Million which means that around 50% loss is waiting for the buyers.

The trade has expected around $4 Million start for the film in the overseas but it looks Game Changer may not cross this numbers giving them a big shock. The film’s performance in Telugu States is concerning and is heading towards a big failure.

Game Changer had a big piracy leak after the release on the opening day itself. A print resembling the HD version got leaked by miscreants to the team’s shock. The print and its link have also gone viral on social media platforms. No film in the recent years has faced this level of piracy. This seriously affected the film’s box office prospects.

What’s even more shocking is the film’s telecast on few local cable channels. Local buses too started playing Game Changer for the passengers. There was already a negative campaign run on the film terming it as a disaster though the film is watchable. Many social media influencers and reviewers mocked the film for its content leading to trolls over the film’s scenes.

This piracy is a concern not only for Game Changer but also for future high budgeted films. Strict measures must be applied and action should also be performed to control the leaks. There should be a team to inspect these for every film’s release.
