Laila Set for OTT Premiere

Laila, Vishwak Sen’s latest film, was released on this Valentine’s Day, and it ended up as a big failure, and the actor faced a lot of criticism as well. On the opening day itself, the film could not get decent collections, and now, Laila is set for its OTT premiere.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has banned Marco and also denied permission to screen it on TV Channels. The Application for the satellite permission has been rejected likewise. A letter has also been sent to the Central Government that the OTT Screening of the film be stopped.

This is said to be because of the extreme violent scenes in the film and CBFC is also learned to set guidelines about the mature and the violence content in the films. This is really a shock to the team of Marco who expected a big boost from the OTT audiences to plan for a sequel. But they have landed in a big trouble now.

Sony LIV bought the digital rights of the film and has also been streaming it for the past 3 weeks. The response from the OTT audience is mixed and not as expected. We need to see how the team acts on this decision by the CBFC.

Mazaka: Early OTT Release?

There were a lot of expectations on Mazaka as it was a commercial entertainer, and it was expected to give a big break for Sundeep Kishan. The director, Trinadha Rao Nakkina’s brand image also raised the anticipation among trade. However, Mazaka failed to perform at least decently. The latest reports suggest that Mazaka is opting for an early OTT release.

Mazaka: Huge Loss Venture at the Box Office

The film was made on a massive budget of 30 Cr with Hasya Movies, AK Entertainments, and ZEE Studios collaboration, and it did good business theatrically. It was released on Maha Shivaratri day with early premieres. Even though it opened with decent reviews and WOM, the film failed to work at the box office. The theatrical breakeven target was 25 Cr gross, but the film collected around 10 Cr gross in the 1st week and can be considered as the final collections for the film.

Sundeep Kishan’s Mazaka to arrive on OTT soon

With this, the film is expected to make its digital debut much earlier than expected. As ZEE Studios is directly involved in the film’s production, they put in a very big amount. So, to compensate for this, it is likely to stream early to get big viewership. So, it is certain that Sundeep Kishan’s Mazaka is opting for an early OTT release.

ZEE5: Same Plan for Mazaka like Sankranthiki Vasthunam?

Normally, Telugu films maintain a 4-week theatrical window, but with a bad result at the box office, Mazaka is expected to arrive on OTT in less than 3 weeks, and ZEE5, recently, with Sankranthiki Vasthunam, started screening television premieres and OTT premieres at the same time.

Even for Mazaka, the ZEE group also has satellite rights along with digital rights, so they might choose the same option as Sankranthiki Vasthunnam. However, Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi’s film was a huge blockbuster, and the viewers waited for more than 6 weeks to watch it. But Mazaka is a failure, so it is expected to arrive very soon.

Shocking: Singer Kalpana attempts suicide

Noted Telugu and Tamil Singer Kalpana has reportedly attempted suicide. The Singer was found in an unconscious state at her home in Hyderabad. A few neighbours informed the Police of no contact from the Actress for the past 2 days which had them get into action. They discovered the Singer lying on her bed in her home.

Kalpana was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and is put under treatment. It is learned that the Singer took sleeping tablets.
