Andhra Pradesh Cinematography and Tourism Minister Sri Kandula Durgesh has directed the Home Department’s Chief Secretary, Kumar Vishwajit, to initiate a detailed investigation into the exhibitors’ decision to shut down theatres from June 1. Reports have surfaced suggesting that certain parties are exerting pressure to close theatres ahead of the release of the much-anticipated film ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’. He further stressed the need to examine whether exhibitors and distributors have formed a cartel and are collectively making decisions that could harm the industry.
