Why Blame Sandeep Vanga, Not Ranbir Kapoor?

0

Sandeep Vanga faced criticism from Bollywood media circles along with the industry people for Kabir Singh and the same response went to the next level with his next film, Animal. Instead of this criticism, both movies ended up as massive blockbusters as audiences liked those films. The recent interview of Vanga sparked the debate against targeted hatred against him. Netizens also say that why blame Sandeep Vanga, not Ranbir Kapoor?

In a recent interview, Vanga raised a point that Hindi film industry people and media criticized him but not the lead actor of the film, Ranbir Kapoor as they do not want to break the relation with Ranbir.

Sandeep Vanga points out the Hypocrisy of Bollywood

Animal, an action-drama by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, thrived in 2024 even with negative reactions as a section of audiences/critics called it a violent and misogynistic movie. During his conversation with Komal Nahata in an interview, the filmmaker revealed that critics targeted his film but lauded Ranbir Kapoor, prompting him to reflect on industry biases. Netizens also say that why blame Sandeep Vanga, not Ranbir Kapoor?

“One thing I’ll tell you—film-related people who criticised Animal very badly, all of them said, ‘But Ranbir toh todd diya (Ranbir smashed it).’ See, I am not jealous of Ranbir, but I don’t understand the disparity. What I understood was that they wanted to work with Ranbir. Kyunki agar Ranbir ko bolenge toh… (Because if they say something to Ranbir then…) Obviously, it’s a different thing to comment on a star. Mere par comment marna asaan hai because I am new to this place (It’s easy to comment on me). A filmmaker makes a film every 2-3 years, but an actor appears in films five times a year. So jinke saath kaam zyada hai unke baare mein kuch bolenge nahi (They won’t say anything about the ones they work with more often).”

Animal succeeded at the box office, making over ₹900 crore despite heavy criticism from a section of Bollywood. Right now, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has two projects: Spirit featuring Prabhas and Animal 2 starring Ranbir Kapoor.

Mazaka Movie Review: An Engaging Entertainer with a Few Flaws

0

Movie Name: Mazaka
Rating: 2.75/5
Cast: Sundeep Kishan, Rao Ramesh, Ritu Varma, Anshu, Murali Sharma, Sreenivas Reddy and others
Director: Trinadharao Nakkina
Produced By: Razesh Danda
Release Date: 26th February 2025

Sundeep Kishan’s Mazaka releases in theaters worldwide today. Trinadharao Nakkina directed the film, and it features Rao Ramesh, Ritu Varma, and Anshu in key roles. The film also had paid premieres last night and received positive responses. Let’s check out the full version of Mazaka Movie Review.

Story:

Venkataramana (Rao Ramesh) and Krishna ( Sundeep Kishan) are father and son. Ramana’s wife dies giving birth to Krishna, leaving them longing for a woman’s presence and a happy family life. To help with his son’s marriage, Ramana plans to remarry. Krishna loves Meera (Ritu Varma) while Ramana pursues Yashoda (Anshu). The story follows how the couples unite and the challenges they face in their marriages.

Performances:

Sundeep Kishan and Rao Ramesh shine as father and son, boosting the comedy with their great chemistry. Ritu Varma and Anshu were okay. Murali Sharma’s character had a humorous touch, and he excelled in it. Sreenivas Reddy, Raghu Babu, and Hyper Aadi deliver some laughs.

Analysis:

Trinadharao Nakkina focuses on making entertaining films with simple stories. Mazaka is also the same. The director took an interesting plot of Father — Son duo falling in love and the proceedings around their actions. Almost every scene is aimed at providing comedy. The first half begins humorously, and while the story is predictable, it has some funny moments. Some scenes with Rao Ramesh feel silly, but the interval episode works well.

An exciting conflict arises between Ritu Varma and Anshu in the second half, yet the subsequent episodes lack excitement. The Anakapalli episode and later events fail to connect. Though the movie drags at times, the pre-climax and climax hit their marks. However, a better emotional impact would have helped the film.

Positives:

  • Entertainment
  • Twists during Pre-Post Interval
  • Scenes Towards Climax

Negatives:

  • Weak Emotional Impact
  • Few Silly/Boring Scenes
  • Songs

Mazaka Movie Review and Verdict:

Mazaka is an engaging entertainer with a few flaws. Though the film lacks the required solid emotional depth, the entertainment factor, Sundeep Kishan and Rao Ramesh’s performance work well for the film.

Laila OTT Streaming Update

0

Vishwak Sen’s latest release, Laila, has turned out to be the biggest failure of his career, struggling to even pull a minimum audience to theatres. The film ended its theatrical run with a mere ₹1.5 crore share worldwide, making it a massive box office disaster. Both the movie and Vishwak Sen have faced heavy criticism from audiences and critics alike.

From the beginning, Laila failed to generate positive buzz. Despite the actor’s aggressive promotions, the film’s content did not resonate with the audience. Poor storytelling, weak screenplay, and awkward scenes have been major talking points, with many labeling it an experimental misfire. The film’s failure marks a major setback for Vishwak Sen, who was riding high on previous successes.

Vishwak Sen definitely puts in a lot of effort for the film, especially for the Laila getup. He mentioned that he didn’t even step out for a month, and the makeup process took more than 2 hours every day. However, all his efforts go in vain, and he faces heavy criticism due to poor story selection. While Laila flopped in theatres, its journey is not over yet.

Laila OTT Streaming Details

Laila ‘s digital rights have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video, and the film is set to premiere on the platform from March 7. However, the OTT release might not bring any relief to the makers. Given the film’s content and several odd, unintentionally funny sequences, there is a high chance that it will be subjected to heavy trolling on social media after Laila OTT. With Laila turning out to be a massive misstep for Vishwak Sen, all eyes are now on his upcoming projects. The actor will have to carefully choose his next scripts to regain his lost momentum in the industry.
