Chhaava Telugu 1st Day Box Office Collections: Excellent

0

Chhaava opens with very good numbers in Telugu states, and the best thing is that there was an increase in collections with each show. The film was originally released in Hindi on February 14, and since then, Telugu audiences have wanted it to be released in Telugu. Finally, the makers released the Telugu version on March 7, and Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava Telugu 1st Day Box Office collections are excellent.

Chhaava’s Telugu Version Opens to an Excellent Response

On the 1st day, the historical action drama collected close to 3 Cr gross in Telugu states, which is an excellent number for a Hindi dubbed film, and the trade believes that the Telugu version’s opening could have been much higher if it had simultaneously released as many people have already watched the Hindi version in Telugu states.

Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava Telugu 1st Day Box Office collections are excellent, and even today’s advance bookings are promising for the film. The trade is expecting better collections than the opening day.

For the weekend, the film is expected to collect a double-digit gross collection in Telugu states, and we should wait and see how the film will perform after the weekend.

Kudumbasthan Movie Review: A Fun-Filled Entertainer

0

Movie: Kudumbasthan
Rating: 3/5
Cast: Manikandan, Saanve Megghana, Guru Somasundaran, R.Sundarrajan and others
Director: Jofin T. Chacko
Producer: Kavya Film Company, Ann Mega Media
Streaming On: Sony LIV

Manikandan, who received huge accolaces as an actor with films like Jai Bhim, Lover, Good Night, scored another hit with his latest film, Kudumbasthan. After impressing the theatrical audiences, this entertainer arrived on OTT. Let’s find out more about Kudumbasthan in our review.

Story:

Kudumbasthan follows the journey of Naveen (Manikandan) and Vennila (Saanve Megghana) as they choose to marry at a registrar’s office without their parents’ approval. Naveen’s family lets them stay in the house, but they do not embrace their marriage. Vennila, who aims to become an IAS officer, stands by Naveen despite facing criticism from her mother-in-law. The rest of the story is how Naveen manages the job of a family man with his professional career being in the doldrums.

Performances:

Manikandan is fantastic, and once again he pulls off a character that is impulsive yet lovable with great ease. Saanve Megghana is simply superb. Her performance in the emotional moments is worth mentioning. Guru Somasundaram is terrific as the irritating brother-in-law. R Sundarrajan, Kudassanad Kanakam and Nivethitha Rajappan also gave convincing performances.

Analysis:

Directed by Rajeshwar Kalismay, Kudumbasthan is a comedy film with a little touch of emotion here and there. The film’s middle-class family backdrop is depicted perfectly, and the hardships one faces while taking care of the family is shown well. The sequence where Naveen is hiding his joblessness and the episode where his friends mess up his plans adds to the humor, which is a major highlight of the film. One funny scene features Naveen talking to himself in the bathroom, guaranteed to make the viewers chuckle.

However, the film loses pace in the second half as Naveen’s issues become drawn out and feel repetitive. The comedic treatment of the wife’s ridicule doesn’t always land well, with some parts feeling off. But again, the momentum is brought back towards the last moments. The emotional outburst of Naveen at the pre-climax is good, and the following scene of comedy of errors journey to the hospital is hilarious.

Positives:

  • Performances
  • Entertainment
  • Last 20 Mins

Negatives:

  • Repetitive/Stretched Moments
  • Few Underdeveloped Scenes

Kudumbasthan Movie Review and Verdict:

Kudumbasthan is a fun-filled entertainer that has many enjoyable moments. Though it has some flaws like dragged moments and some weakly handled scenes, it engages for most of the parts with the help of convincing performances from Manikandan, Saanve Megghana, and others, along with humorous moments.

Rekhachitram Movie Review: A Well-Made Crime Thriller

0

Movie: Rekhachithram
Rating: 3/5
Cast: Asif Ali, Anaswara Rajan, Manoj K. Jayan, and others
Director: Jofin T. Chacko
Produced by: Kavya Film Company, Ann Mega Media
Streaming On: Sony LIV

Starring Asif Ali as the lead, Rekhachithram is the recent superhit movie from Malayalam Cinema that received good response from audiences and reviewers. The film is now streaming on Sony LIV in all South Indian languages. Scroll to read our review on this crime thriller.

Story:

An old man named Rajendran, feeling really guilty, admits to a crime he did 40 years ago and then takes his own life, sharing his confession on Facebook. A cop named Vivek, who has been suspended, is given the job of investigating this case. It leads him to discover some skeletal remains linked to a young woman named Rekha, who went missing during the filming of Mammootty’s movie Kathodu Kathoram back in 1985. Vivek tries to find out the truth and bring the killer to justice.

Performances:

Asif Ali does a good job in the character of Vivek. After Thalavan, he once again impresses with his portrayal of a police officer in a different setup. Anaswara Rajan shines and adds the required depth to the character/movie. Manoj K Jayan is good as the antagonist, while Indrans, Siddique, Zarin Shihab, Harisree Ashokan and others are also good.

Analysis:

Rekhachithram tells an imaginative tale about a murder connected to the events during the old Malayalam film Kathodu Kathoram’s shooting. It links the story to a nun who loves films and has gone missing, along with a cop who has been put on leave. It also has reference to the veteran Malayalam film personalities in the 80s like Sibi Malayalil, Bharathan, Jagadish, and John Paul.

The film starts on an intriguing note with the suicide scene and the investigation part also begins immediately. However, the process looks slow paced, and it moves with some ups and downs until the interval. But the second half works perfectly as the 1980 scenes along with the present-day moments, get linked correctly.

All the scenes that link the film industry and the journey of Rekha are fascinating. The scenes towards the end, where the little emotional touch between Rekha and Mammootty is shown, seems heartwarming.

Positives:

  • Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan’s Performance
  • Second Half
  • Climax

Negatives:

  • A Few Slow-Paced Moments in the First Half
  • Unstable Feel here and there

Rekachithram Movie Review and Verdict:

Rekhachithram is a well-made crime thriller. The film benefits from solid performances from Asif Ali, and Anaswara Rajan, along with a neatly enacted screenplay for most of the parts. Though some slow paced and inconsistent moments derail the feel for a while, it emerges as an engaging movie.

Laila OTT disappoints

0

Laila, starring Vishwak Sen, was released recently and became a big disaster at the box office. The film also received a great amount of trolling and criticism from the audience and reviewers. The team also opted for an early OTT streaming and is scheduled for the same on 7th March.

Aha Video officially announced a few days ago that the film will stream from 7th March. It was also expected to arrive on Amazon Prime Video. But Laila didn’t stream on both the platforms and this caused a big disappointment to fans and audience. There is also no update about the streaming platform of the film yet by the team.

Netizens have also demanded that the team clarify this. The film became a disaster and early OTT release would be useful. But if this gets dragged, they may lose interest in the film and the team must act fast in bringing the film to the OTT platform. Vishwak Sen has already issued an apology letter for going overboard with Laila. And we have to see if these scenes get removed from the OTT version.

Mahesh Babu: The King of Re-Releases

0

The re-release celebration in Telugu cinema started with superstar Mahesh Babu. His film Pokiri was the first one to be released again in theaters after a gap. Later this trend went on to continue with many old blockbuster movies getting released again. However, Mahesh Babu emerged as the king of re-releases.

Pokiri’s re-release was not a full-fledged one, as the fans arranged special shows on the birthday of their favorite hero. Despite this, the fans created a sensation by adding a massive number of shows in a single day. All-star hero films have been continually released after Pokiri, but only two star hero films have worked consistently in re-releases: one is Mahesh Babu, and the other hero is Pawan Kalyan.

Even the Powerstar Pawan Kalyan had a failure like Gudumba Shankar’s re-release, but as far as Mahesh’s films go, every re-release worked. Pokiri, Okkadu, Businessman, Murari, and now the latest SVSC also worked and drew audiences to the theaters. SVSC opens with big numbers and housefuls today, and Murari is the highest grosser in rereleases.

Even for tomorrow, the bookings for SVSC are good. Mahesh Babu has many films that work in re-releases, and movies like Athadu and Khaleja can also work much bigger in the future, and those results will again prove that Mahesh Babu is the king of re-releases

Chhaava Telugu Day 1 box office: Good start

0

Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, is performing stunningly well at the box office. The film’s Telugu version was also released today, and it made a very good start here. The film has collected 60 Lakhs gross for Noon shows and 75 Lakhs gross for Matinee shows. The advances for the evening and night shows are also good and are expected to set a 2.5 crore+ opening, which is excellent for the film.

Chhaava was released in over 550 screens in the Telugu States, having a solid release. The makers are expecting good box office numbers by the end of its run, with its Hindi version already shattering records. The film already grossed more than 500 crores worldwide. This is also Vicky Kaushal’s solo highest grosser to date.

Chhaava has also boosted the popularity of Rashmika Mandanna, who played the female lead role in the film. She is currently doing Sikandar, starring Mahesh Babu, and is also expected to portray more roles in Bollywood.

Fans Upset With NTR’s New Advertisement

0

Amongst Tollywood stars, NTR is well known for his brand endorsements and TV appearances. This way, the fans derive satisfaction by seeing their favourite star on mediums other than movies. However, his recent advertisement for Zepto has attracted great negativity.

The advertisement was released today and Tarak’s hairstyle and look has disappointed the fans. Even the ad concept was disappointing as he was seen inside a fridge and washing machine which doesn’t suit the stature of a leading star.

NTR’s range has risen to pan-India level and he will be seen in several big budget action projects and such ads don’t suit the image. The ad has given a lot of fodder to anti- fans and in this age of social media, heroes should take care of their appearances and how they project themselves infront of the world.

Coming to films, NTR will soon get busy with War 2 final schedule. The action entertainer co-starring Hrithik Roshan is scheduled for Independence Day weekend release and he will be joining War 2 sets this month

Bangalore’s record ticket prices slashed

0

Bangalore holds the record for the highest ticket prices for craze films on the opening day in South India. The ticket prices are placed at ₹700, ₹800, ₹1000, and even more, making it very expensive. Now, these prices are going to change with the new decision taken by the Karnataka Government.

A new proposal has been tabled in the Karnataka Budget, where a comprehensive system will regulate and cap the cinema ticket prices in the multiplexes across the State. In the 2025-26 budget, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, announced standard pricing for multiplex cinemas, setting the cost of a movie ticket at ₹200.

Netizens have come in great praise for this decision and feel that reducing the prices will bring in more audience to the theatres. But we need to see how the theatre owners and distributors respond to this decision. A section of Netizens also demanded to implement the same decision in Telugu States as well.

Kingston Movie Review: Impressive Only in a Few Places

0

Movie Name: Kingston
Rating: 2.5/5
Cast:
GV Prakash, Divya Bharathi and others
Director:
Kamal Prakash
Produced By:
ZEE Studios and Parallel Universe Pictures
Release Date: 07th March 2025

Kingston is a heavy-budget film starring GV Prakash as the lead, and he also produced the film and composed the music. Divya Bharati is playing the lead actress in the film, which has been directed by Kamal. Kingston has been made as a fantasy thriller against sea backdrop. Let’s find out how the film has been shaped up in our review.

Story:

The coastal village of Thoovathur in Tamil Nadu faces a curse in 1982, compelling residents to stop fishing forever. In the present, Kingston, or King (GV Prakash Kumar), is a greedy smuggler working for Thomas’s gang in Thoothukudi. Despite villagers’ warnings, the King changes his mind and prepares to sail after several events. He faces the fatal curse of the sea. Will he break it, or will it claim him? The main film provides the answer.

Performances:

GV Prakash Kumar showcases a decent performance, attempting to excel throughout. Dhivyabharathi does well in a few scenes and that’s about it. Chetan, Azhagam Perumaal, Elango Kumaravel, Sabumon Abdusamad, Antony, Arunachaleswaran, and Rajesh Balachandiran were fine.

Analysis:

As India’s first sea adventure film, Kingston offers a captivating story but struggles with its execution. Only certain parts of the film hold interest, particularly before the interval and some thrilling scenes in the latter half. Besides that, it lags because of redundant flashbacks.

The Flashback portions disrupt the narrative and create boredom. A major twist before the Pre Climax works well, but the following parts stretch out again.

Positives:

  • Main Plot
  • Few Stunning Visuals
  • Some Thrilling Scenes in the Second Half

Negatives:

  • Inconsistent Narration
  • Too Many Flashbacks
  • Dragged Moments

Kingston Movie Review and Verdict:

Kingston is an ambitious attempt that is impressive only in a few places, especially in the second half. The film suffers from inconsistent and dragged narration.
