Parineeti Chopra Announces Pregnancy

Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra, who was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila (2024), shares good news with her fans. The actress announces her pregnancy on social media.

The Ishaqaade actress was married to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha. On Monday, the couple shared a cute post on Instagram to reveal they’re having a baby. 

Parineeti and Raghav posted a pic of a gorgeous cake all decked out on a round silver tray, sitting pretty against a soft beige fabric, with some lovely white flowers beside it.

“Our little universe … on its way (evil eye and red heart emojis) … Blessed beyond measure,” they wrote as a caption. The fans are delighted, and many co-actors and film celebrities wished/commented on her post as Parineeti Chopra shares her pregnancy news.

What’s Happening With Toxic?

Kannada actor Yash scored a massive blockbuster success with the KGF series, and he took a long time to confirm his next project. His upcoming Toxic also faced a delay before starting the shoot, and the latest reports suggest there is a lot happening around the film.

As said above, the actor took his time to fix his next film after KGF: Chapter 2, and he chose Geethu Mohandas to make it. The film’s shoot started last year, and at first, it was planned for this summer’s release, then moved to December, and then again, it moved to early summer 2026. 

Yash’s Toxic Not Arriving Early 2026?

According to the latest news, even now the film’s release is not confirmed for the said date, and it may even go to the 2nd half of 2026. The buzz in industry circles is that the shoot of the film is facing multiple hurdles. 

Also, a lot of reshoots are said to be happening for a lot of scenes, and a few shooting portions have been completely trashed. A new buzz arises that there are some differences between Yash and director Geethu, which made the actor do ghost direction of the film now.

Boney Kapoor Moves Court Over Sridevi’s Land Dispute

Famous film producer Boney Kapoor has gone to the Madras High Court, claiming that three people are wrongly asserting ownership of a property his late wife, veteran actress Sridevi, bought on East Coast Road in Chennai back in 1988.

Justice N. Anand Venkatesh instructed the Tambaram Taluk Tahsildar on Monday (August 25, 2025) to decide within four weeks about a film producer’s plea to revoke a ‘fraudulent’ legal heirship certificate given to three individuals.

Produce Boney Kapoor’s appeal to the Madras High Court

In his appeal, Kapoor requested that the Chengalpattu District Collector and the Tambaram Tahsildar take action on what he submitted back in April. He claimed that Sridevi bought the land in 1998 from M.C. Sambanda Mudaliar in Mylapore, and her family has been fully using it as a farmhouse ever since.

Mudaliar, the original title holder, had three sons and two daughters who split their inheritance in 1960. Sridevi purchased and registered the property according to this deed.

Boney Kapoor Accuses Mudaliar’s Family Of Fake Heirship Certificate

Recently, three individuals—claiming to be the second wife and two kids of one of Mudaliar’s sons—came forward with a 2005 heirship certificate to assert their claim. Kapoor challenged whether the Tambaram Tahsildar had the right to issue that certificate, pointing out that Mudaliar’s family actually lived in Mylapore, not Tambaram.

Kapoor pushed back against the alleged second wife’s claim of marrying in 1975, saying that the marriage couldn’t be legit since the person’s first wife was alive until 1999. Kapoor pointed out that the trio doesn’t meet the criteria for Class I or Class II heirs under the Hindu Succession Act. He also accused them of harassing him by throwing multiple civil suits and petitions at revenue authorities to back up a false property claim.

As Boney Kapoor approaches the Madras High Court regarding late Sridevi’s Land issue, the news is all over the media, and everyone awaits the verdict or the future proceedings of this case.

Maareesan Movie Review: Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil Shine In This Engaging Thriller/Drama

Sudheesh Shankar directs Maareesan, featuring veteran Tamil comedian Vadivelu and renowned Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil, produced by R.B. Choudary of Super Good Films.

The film hit theaters on July 25, 2025, and started streaming on Netflix on August 22, 2025.  Let’s find out how this road thriller/drama has been shaped up in our review.

Story:

Dhaya (Dhayalan), played by Fahadh Faasil, is a small-time thief addicted to stealing precious items. He steals a motorbike after coming out of jail, and breaks into a house, discovering Vela/Velayudham Pillai (Vadivelu) chained inside.

Vela tells Dhaya he has Alzheimer’s, and his son locked him up to stop him from wandering. He offers Dhaya ₹25,000 for assistance in escaping. As Vela takes money from the ATM, Dhaya observes ₹25 lakhs in his account. Tempted, he stays behind Vela to grab all the cash. Next up, the narrative tracks their journey and reveals what kind of time Dhaya has with Vela.

Performances:

Vadivelu fits the character of Vela perfectly, capturing that chill yet intense vibe, and his acting in the emotional moments is simply fantastic. Fahadh Faasil shines as Dhaya, keeping it simple but making a strong impression. Kovai Sarala, Sithara, Vivek Prasanna, and the rest fit perfectly.

Analysis:

In Maareesan, Sudheesh Shankar creates a gripping atmosphere and builds suspense steadily. The story begins on an intriguing note with two lead characters setting on an unusual journey. One can guess the dramatic beats of it but still the film holds the interest with slowly opening other characters and opens a crime link.

The second half, after some interesting proceedings struggles to maintain the grip once the backstory behind the crime is revealed, but it again impresses with the emotional scenes towards the climax.

Maareesan Movie Review and Verdict:

Mareesan is a slow burn  thriller/drama that works for most of parts with the natural performances from Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil. While the second half has some flaws, the way it makes the emotions work is what makes an appealing journey.

Prime Video Announces Tamannaah’s New Web Series Release Date

The OTT giant Prime Video already collaborated with actress Tamannaah Bhatia for Jee Karda (2023), and now it announces its new web series with the actress, titled Do You Wanna Partner, set for streaming on September 12.

The storyline follows two eager best friends as they venture into the world of beer entrepreneurship. It is a mix of madness, hard work, and enjoyment. Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty’s Do You Wanna Partner will drop on Prime Video on September 12, 2025.

Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment backs this web series that guarantees a mix of laughs, friendship, startup chaos, and a bit of rebellion.Tamannah Bhatia and Diana Penty appear in the series as Shikha and Anahita. 

Archit Kumar and Collin D’Cunha are the directors of the series, while Mithun Gongopadhyay and Nishant Nayak co-created it. They teamed up with Nandini Gupta and Aarsh Vora for the writing too.

The cast features a lineup of talents like Jaaved Jaafery, Nakuul Mehta, Shweta Tiwari, Neeraj Kabi, Sufi Motiwala, and Rannvijay Singha. The project has support from producers Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Johar, with Somen Mishra taking on the role of executive producer.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie is still doing some noise at the box office. Though the film fell flat after the first weekend, the second weekend helped it with some decent numbers. The film collected 478 Cr worldwide gross in 11 days at the box office.

If only the director Lokesh Kanagaraj had not disappointed the audiences/fans, this action drama would have done wonders at the box office for the hype it had.

Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2 continues its poor run on its 2nd weekend too with no jump in its numbers. For 11 days, the film has collected 321 Cr gross worldwide. 

In Hindi, the film atleast saw some numbers whereas in Telugu it had a completely disastrous weekend with negligible numbers.

Minimal Loss for War 2 Producer

War 2 was released in theaters with high expectations, and the initial expectations were that it would be the biggest grosser for Bollywood and would easily do 1000 Cr gross at the box office. Though the film ended up as a big disappointment, War 2’s producer faces minimal losses.

The spy action drama released in theaters on August 14th clashed with Coolie, but it failed to meet audiences’ expectations and opened with poor WOM and reviews. With that, the movie delivers a box office disappointment.

War 2 Box Office Performance: Huge Expectations – Poor Numbers

For the movie’s genre and the combo of NTR and Hrithik Roshan, the movie should have done at least 700 Cr gross to claim the hit status. But it just collected around 320 Cr gross for 11 days.

The above numbers replicate the box office status, but it does not mean that it gave a direct loss for the producer. The movie is said to be made on a 400 Cr budget. With a 400 Cr budget, the movie has recovered 50% with all the non-theatrical rights itself.

War 2 Producers Suffer Minimal Losses Only

Another 20% has been recovered from Telugu state rights. With this, the producer needs to recover only 30% of the budget, which is 120 Cr, and expenses from other areas’ theatrical numbers, excluding Telugu states.

Excluding Telugu states, the film has collected more than 250 Cr gross in 11 days, and it will add another 25-30 Cr gross for the full run. Which means it achieved more than 100 Cr share that almost recovers the budget for the producer.

So, the producers end up with minimal loss with War 2, and they will lose the marketing expenses and some compensation amount that will be provided to Telugu buyers, which is likely to be in between 10 and 15% of the total budget.

Celebrate Vinayaka Chavithi with Kingdom OTT

Be it a big movie or small, irrespective of box office result, it has become the norm for Telugu movies to arrive on the digital platforms within four weeks of theatrical release. Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom also follows the same route as it arrives on OTT on this Vinayaka Chavithi.

Sithara Entertainments, the production house behind the film, officially announced that the viewers can celebrate the Vinayaka Chavithi festival with Kingdom on Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

This means that from 27th August, the film will be available for online streaming, and apart from South Indian languages, the film will also stream as Saamrajya in Hindi. 

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the action drama stars Vijay Deverakonda as a police constable who becomes a spy. However, he encounters his long-lost older brother while on an assignment, and the rest of the story revolves around the connection and resolution between his personal life and his duty.
