Coolie Two Weeks Box Office Collections

0

Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie had a steady run at the box office in its 2nd week as it gathered decent numbers. The film performed better than expectations after the first week. Coolie Two Weeks Box Office collections are out now.

In the 2nd week the film has collected close to 70 Cr gross worldwide, and the good thing is, the film is still seeing numbers from all languages: Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.

For two weeks, Coolie’s box office collections stand around 323 Cr gross in India and 174 Cr gross overseas, taking the total gross to 497 Cr, and the film is all set to join the 500 Cr club today.

As this weekend does not have notable releases, this action drama needs to aim for at least 30 Cr+ gross in the 3rd week so that the recovery can go near 90%. If the film maintains good collections in the 3rd week, it can go for above-average status at the box office as well.

Day by day the makers of Pawan Kalyan’s OG are bringing good promotional content to maintain the excitement among fans. The team launched OG Merchandise, and fans gave a stunning response to it.

On the occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi, the makers dropped the song, Suvvi Suvvi. The sweet melody by Thaman, showcasing Pawan Kalyan and Priyanka Arul Mohan, is receiving a superb response on social media.

Meanwhile, the team rolled out a new update, as they came with OG merchandise. As soon as the announcement went live, more than 2300 pre-orders were received in the first 15 minutes, which shows how excited PSPK fans are about the film.

Directed by Sujeeth, this action flick has been produced by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari, and it is all set to hit theaters on September 25, 2025.

The Raja Saab Update Missing on Festival Day

0

Prabhas and Maruthi’s The Raja Saab has been on sets for a long time now. The film was already postponed earlier, and though it announced 5th December, again reports came out that Sankranthi is its new date. The film’s update on the Ganesh Chaturthi Festival was missing, much to the disappointment of fans.

Nowadays, even for a big star’s film, promotional content plays a big role in bringing audiences to theaters. Despite having a pan-Indian star like Prabhas as the lead, Raj Saab needs a bigger push from the promotional content.

The team has to release the updates continuously to increase the buzz among audiences, and that is why fans hoped some kind of content would be released today.

However, Prabhas’ The Raja Saab update did not come on the Ganesh Chaturthi festival day. Whether it’s a December release or a Sankranti release, the team could have at least released a new poster from the film, sharing the festival wishes for fans.

Big films should not miss sharing updates on festival days, which keep the excitement among audiences intact, which helps the film be present in discussions of moviegoers.

The recent films from Mega Family stars did not do well, and unexpectedly, they delivered back-to-back failures. Now, Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, and Ram Charan are set for a box office revival with OG, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, and Peddi.

All the upcoming films from the Mega heroes look promising to be box office blockbusters.
The first one will be Pawan Kalyan’s OG, which has produced a lot of anticipation among fans and other audiences. His last film, HHVM, ended up as a big disaster, so the fans are waiting for a massive comeback.

Chiranjeevi – Anil Ravipudi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is also poised to be a festival blockbuster, with the combo and season matching perfectly. The veteran actor’s last film was Bhola Shankar, which ended up as a massive disaster.

Ram Charan also faced a big failure with Game Changer, directed by Shankar. His next film with Buchii Babu Sana, Peddi, created superb hype with its first glimpse.

So, the Mega Family Stars, Ram Charan, Pawan Kalyan, and Chiranjeevi, are expected to revive the box office with their upcoming films.

All three films are arriving in a very short gap, and OG is the first one, which will be out on September 25, 2025, while Mans Shankara Vara Prasad will arrive on January 9, 2026.

Buchi Babu and Ram Charan’s biggie, Peddi, will be released in theaters on March 27, 2026.

The much-hyped sequel of Akhanda was announced for a 25 September release, but now it is said to be pushed to the first week of December. However, be it any date, an update on the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is most expected.

No Update From Akhanda 2 On Ganesh Chaturthi Festival

However, the Akhanda 2 team did not release any content on the Ganesh festival, and with this, the fans and audiences are disappointed.

But there is said to be a strong reason for this. Since Nandamuri Jayakrishna Garu’s wife passed away on the 19th of this month, Balayya requested the makers to not give any updates until the 30th (11 days).

Abishan Jeevinth impressed everyone with his directorial debut, Tourist Family, featuring Sasikumar and Simran in the main roles. The blockbuster director now turns into a lead hero for an upcoming film, produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth.

In the film temporarily named Production No. 4, Abishan will take on the lead role of Sathya. Soundarya is teaming up with Pasilian Nazerath and Magesh Raj Pasilian to make the film. The crew is busy shooting the film at the moment, with backing from MRP Entertainment and Zion Films.

The Tamil film industry is known for directors becoming actors and actors becoming directors more often. Now, after scoring a blockbuster like Tourist Family, Abishan Jeevinth turns as a lead hero for Soundarya Rajinikanth’s upcoming film.

Soundarya’s most recent movie was Velailla Pattadhaari 2, which came out in 2017 and followed up on the 2014 film Vellailla Pattadhaari. Dhanush reprised the most favorite character, Raghuvaran, a civil engineer, in the film, which failed to meet expectations.

Abishan has been in front of the camera before this upcoming film. In Tourist Family, he also acted along with directing it and took on the part of a struggling young man dealing with alcoholism, mourning his mom, and getting into trouble with the neighbors.

Multiplex Association requests Government to change GST percentage on Movie Tickets

0

Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi rolled out updates to the GST system, a bunch of industries nationwide have started asking for tax breaks. Multiplex Association requests the government to change the GST percentage on movie tickets.

The Multiplex operators have jumped on the bandwagon of other industries, asking the government to rethink GST rates on movie tickets since they believe the current rates are way too high and are driving audiences away.

Multiplex Owners request change in GST Rates for Movie Tickets

The Multiplex Association of India (MAI), covering over 9,000 movie screens nationwide, is asking the government to change the GST rates to make going to the movies cheaper for everyone. MAI mentioned that this step will not just make movies cheaper for everyone, but it will also give a much-needed boost to an industry that’s been having a tough time since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The group recommended that tickets costing up to Rs 300 should fall under the lowest 5 percent GST rate, while those over Rs 300 can keep the 18 percent GST.

Right now, if a movie ticket costs more than Rs 100, it gets hit with an 18 percent tax, but tickets under Rs 100 only have a 12 percent GST. MAI suggests making some big changes to this threshold. Kamal Gianchandani, the MAI president, mentioned to the media that we suggest increasing the Rs 100 slab to Rs 300, meaning ticket prices up to Rs 300 should have a 5 percent GST, while anything over Rs 300 should face an 18 percent GST.

Gianchandani mentioned that the Rs 100 limit just doesn’t make sense anymore and highlighted that even after multiple requests to the Finance Ministry and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for over seven years, nothing has changed. He said that the Rs 300 slab will make cinema tickets more affordable, he said, adding that it will also infuse confidence in the exhibition sector; the incumbent players need that boost in order to accelerate the growth rate.
