K-Ramp Releasing with Major Advantage

0

Whenever multiple films release at the same time, the last film to release often gets an advantage. If the last film receives positive word-of-mouth (WOM), it usually dominates the others. Conversely, if it receives negative WOM, the earlier releases take the advantage. Even when the WOM for the initial films and the last film is similar, the last film still tends to have the edge.

This Diwali, four films are releasing. Three films — Mithra Mandali, Telusu Kada, and Dude — are already in theatres. In terms of WOM and reviews, Dude is performing the best, followed by Telusu Kada and Mithra Mandali. However, even though Dude has better WOM compared to its competition, it hasn’t achieved super-hit or blockbuster-level WOM; the response so far ranges from average to decent.

K-Ramp, releasing tomorrow, has the potential to dominate the festival box office if it opens with unanimously positive WOM. If it fails, Dude and Telusu Kada will benefit instead.

Even if K Ramp receives above-average WOM, the film is likely to gain significant momentum. The genre is also a plus for the film, as the team says it is a complete entertainer. Entertainers always tend to perform well at the box office during festivals.

Tough Battle Ahead for Mass Jathara

0

Mass Jathara, which was initially planned for Sankranthi 2026, has faced continuous postponements — from summer to Vinayaka Chaviti — and now the team has finally locked October 31 as the release date.

As of now, the movie isn’t carrying much buzz. There was very positive hype initially, but the recently released content hasn’t given it the expected momentum. The team needs to put in much bigger efforts in the next two weeks to take the film to the next level, and the trailer will play a crucial role in that.

October 31st is definitely not an best date for release, as there are no holidays or festivals around that time. Another major concern is Baahubali The Epic, which is releasing on a massive scale and drawing huge audience interest. The film could have benefited more if it had been released this weekend during the Diwali festival.

Perhaps several factors forced the team to fix October 31st as the release date. However, if the film manages to bring back vintage Ravi Teja in a strong commercial way, it can still make a big impact at the box office. Usually, when the release date and buzz are strong, even average films perform well — but that scenario doesn’t seem to exist for Mass Jathara right now.

The team must strike big.The team is reportedly very confident about the output. Ravi Teja even mentioned that he could analyze the film’s success while on set, and he has strong positive vibes about Mass Jathara. The team is expecting the film to be a huge blockbuster.

Dude, Telusu Kada Premieres Reviews and WOM from Audiences

0

Dude, starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamita Baiju, is directed by Keerthiswaran and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Telusu Kada, directed by Neeraja and starring Siddhu, Sreenidhi Shetty, and Raashi Khanna, is produced by people’s Media releases today in theatres. Both films had early premieres in overseas markets.

Dude Reviews and WOM

Dude, a rom-com entertainer, opened with unanimously positive reports for the first half, while the second half received mixed responses. Overall, the film is being termed a watchable time-pass entertainer. The positives are that the fun and comedy work well, while the emotional portions didn’t connect as expected

Telusu Kada Reviews and WOM

Telusu Kada is a triangular love story with some unique plot points. The first half received decent reports, but the second half opened to below-average feedback. The characterizations and performances are being appreciated, whereas the flat narration and mismatched music have worked against the film.

It remains to be seen whether the Indian audience’s word of mouth will align with the overseas response. For both films, stronger WOM will be crucial to achieve good revenues during the festival period.

Vijay Deverakonda in Talks with Vikram Kumar for Nithiin’s Dropped Project

0

When Nithiin was going through the toughest phase of his career, director Vikram Kumar gave him a strong comeback with Ishq. After that, Nithiin delivered a few good successes, but for the past five years, he has been continuously facing failures.

Nithiin had announced a project with Vikram Kumar under UV Creations. He officially revealed that it would be a sports drama, and said, “If whatever Vikram narrated to me comes on screen, it will be one of the proudest films in Telugu cinema.” He showed immense confidence in the project.

However, due to a series of big failures, Nithiin’s lineup has been undergoing major changes. He had announced two projects — Yellamma and the one with Vikram Kumar’s direction. Yellamma has already moved forward and is now being planned with Devi Sri Prasad. Meanwhile, Vikram Kumar’s project also seems to be shifting. Reports suggest that Vikram Kumar is now in talks with Vijay Deverakonda, and it’s most likely to be the same subject he earlier discussed with Nithiin.

On the other hand, Nithiin is in talks with Little Hearts director Sai Marthand. The project is in its final discussion stage, and if everything goes well, Nithiin’s next film will be with Sai Marthand.

Devi Sri Prasad Turns Hero with Yellamma

Balagam director Venu had prepared a solid subject titled “Yellamma,” which was liked by Nani, who also gave his approval to the script and officially announced it. However, due to his busy lineup with other commitments, Nani couldn’t allocate dates for the film and suggested Nithin for the project.

The film was officially announced with Nithin as the lead hero and was planned to start immediately after Thammudu’s release. But after Thammudu gave a big shock to Dil Raju, Yellamma once again got stuck in a hurdle.

Recently, there were reports in the industry that Bellamkonda Sreenivas was in talks for the project. However, the confirmed news now is that Music Director Devi Sri Prasad is all set to make his acting debut as the lead hero in Yellamma. The official announcement is expected very soon.

This news has definitely created a wave of excitement among audiences as DSP steps into the hero’s role. Dil Raju will be producing the film. After going through several casting options, Yellamma finally being locked with Devi Sri Prasad comes as a big relief for director Venu.

Kantara Chapter 2 Matches KGF 2 Record – A Pride for Sandalwood

0

KGF Chapter 2 is the first film to gross over 50 Cr in all five Indian languages: Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. Baahubali 2 was not dubbed in Kannada; in the other four languages, it grossed over 50 Cr. Meanwhile, Pushpa 2 failed in Malayalam and did not perform well in Kannada either.

Now, this record has been matched by another Kannada film, Kantara Chapter 2. Like KGF 2, Kantara Chapter 2 has grossed over 50 Cr in all five languages—Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. In Kannada, it has performed much better than KGF 2. In Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, its collections are close to KGF 2. In Hindi, however, the film falls short compared to KGF 2, which is why Kantara Chapter 1 did not join the 1000 Cr club at the box office.

As both KGF Chapter 2 and Kantara Chapter 1 are films from Sandalwood holding this epic record, it is a pride for the industry. In two weeks, the film has collected around 670 Cr gross and is heading towards 800 Cr+ in its full run and set for 2025’s biggest grosser.

Priyadarshi’s Nani Act Turns Into a Complete Disaster

0

Nani made a big statement at the Court pre-release event, saying, “If you don’t like this film, don’t watch my next film Hit 3.” This bold remark went viral on the internet and created massive buzz around Court. Even though it was a small film, Nani’s statement generated extraordinary hype for the premieres — and the film’s content went beyond expectations, becoming a sensational blockbuster. It is regarded as one of the best films of 2025.

One of Court’s lead actors, Priyadarshi, tried to imitate Nani’s approach but ended up facing a disastrous result. At the Mithra Mandali pre-release event, Priyadarshi confidently said, “The film is good and will definitely work for everyone. If you don’t like Mithra Mandali, don’t watch my next film.” The team even screened premieres last night with full confidence.

However, shockingly, the film received unanimous negative and disastrous reviews from both critics and audiences. As a result, it couldn’t even secure minimum openings today and is practically a washout. With new releases arriving from tomorrow, Mithra Mandali is unlikely to find any audience due to its poor word of mouth.

Filmmakers and actors should avoid making such bold statements just for promotional hype, as it diminishes their credibility. In the case of Mithra Mandali, leaving aside the box office result, when not even one in ten people found the movie watchable, such statements only backfire and seem unnecessary.

Industry in Tension, Rajamouli in Control – The Baahubali Way

0

Nowadays, most film teams are making a big mistake by continuing post-production work until the very last minute. Even during the release week, teams are still in the editing room, creating unnecessary tension over delivering the final copies on time. This issue is common across the industry — from big-budget films to small ones.

Rajamouli, however, stands out as an exception. Even though he makes the biggest films ever, he always ensures the final copy is ready as planned, with no last-minute delays. Currently, while working on India’s biggest film with Mahesh Babu, he and his team have also completed all the work for the Baahubali re-release well ahead of time.

The post-production work for Baahubali: The Epic is not an easy task, as it involves combining both parts into a single film — a highly complex process. Yet, the team pulled it off successfully and prepared the final copy in advance. The movie has also completed censor formalities with a runtime of 225 minutes and a U/A certificate

The film is not only re-releasing in Telugu but also in all other languages and formats. Completing such extensive post production work in advance once again showcases Rajamouli and his team’s commitment — and serves as a valuable lesson for others who continue post-production until the last moment.

Bigg Boss 9 Telugu in Trouble : Complaint Filed

0

A complaint has been filed at the Jubilee Hills Police Station in Hyderabad against the popular reality show Bigg Boss 9 Telugu, which is currently being aired on television. The complaint was lodged by Kammari Srinivas, Ravinder Reddy, Sukumar Reddy, Chandrasekhar, and Srinivas from Gajwel, alleging that the show is misleading society and promoting wrong values among viewers

According to the complainants, some of the contestants selected for the show lack social and family values. They accused the Bigg Boss Telugu team of deliberately choosing participants who do not uphold moral standards, claiming that the organizers are conducting the show in a manner that brings shame to society. They demanded that the show be stopped immediately and urged the government to take strict action against its producers.

The complainants also warned that if no action is taken, public and women’s organizations will stage a protest and surround the Bigg Boss house. They stated that the show should be banned in Telangana, similar to the ban imposed in Karnataka. The group further appealed to actor Nagarjuna to involve himself in programs that benefit society instead, questioning what kind of message Bigg Boss is trying to convey by selecting participants like Divvela Madhuri and Ritu Chowdhary.

Mithra Mandali Movie Review : Laughs here and there, Flat Throughout

0

Movie Name: Mithra Mandali
Rating: 2/5
Cast:
Niharika NM, Priyadarshi, Rag Mayur, Vishnu Oi
Director: Vijayender S
Produced By:
 Kalyan Manthina, Bunny Vas
Release Date: 16th October 2025

Starring Priyadarshi and Niharika NM as lead pair supported by trio of Rag Mayur, Vishnu Oi & Prasad Behera as the friends gang in this buddy comedy film set against the backdrop of a fictional town named ” Junglipatnam”. The film’s promos so far promised a full-on laughter riot, generating strong buzz among audiences, so much so that many premiere shows have already sold out. Let’s check out what the review of the film is going to be after such a massive response for premieres.

Story

Set in the fictional town of Junglipatnam, the story follows VTV Ganesh, who plays a caste leader and aspiring politician desperate to secure an MLA ticket. Trouble begins when his daughter, played by Niharika NM, elopes with one of the friends in the Mithramandali gang, played by Priyadarshi. What follows is a chaotic yet comical journey as VTV Ganesh juggles around to find his daughter and protect his caste pride all while trying to save his political ambitions.

Performances

Niharika NM in her Telugu debut, does have a very limited screen time but does shine out through at some cases, her comic timing looks so absurd and out of the tone for the film’s tone. Satya, who ironically plays a character named “Important Character,” and Vennela Kishore as SI Sagar K. Chandra, a fun call back to Bheemla Nayak’s director delivers some of the film’s funniest moments. Their scenes are an absolute riot, carrying much of the film’s humor and keeping the audience entertained throughout at least wherever they were on screen. Their sequences were a complete riot on screen and shouldered the film with laughs here and there. However, Priyardarshi and the trio were completely off and everything they tried doing as comedy looked so forced in spite of the film being in a nonsensical humor zone. Anudeep KV’s cameo was really so bad he looked very much disinterested too on screen and underutilized.

Analysis

Director Vijayander S presents a same old routine buddy nonsensical comedy film that we have seen before but this time throws a satire on the caste and people. He tries to blend absurdity with satire, but the writing misses the mark and most of the time, the narrative falls flat. Though packed with jokes, only a few actually work and leave much of the humor very much forced and irritating at a point when actors are trying to do something but rather are just overusing or recreating the memes . Despite some genuinely funny moments which are already shown most of them in the trailer, the story comes off as uneven and repetitive backed by overstuffed meme references within the songs and haphazard editing. While the background score by RR Dhruvan worked most of the time and set a good comic tone of the film.

Positives

  • Satya & Vennela Kishore Scenes
  • Niharika NM Screen Presence
  • Good Background score

Negatives

  • Weak writing
  • Editing
  • Songs with Overstuffed Memes
  • Lead’s Comic Timing
  • Forced Comedy
  • Irrelevant cameos

Verdict

The film aims to deliver laughs here and there but struggles to maintain its comic rhythm throughout. Flat writing and a weak screenplay make it a tiresome watch, with humor that often feels forced. Mithramandali ends up as an irregular comedy that tries hard to entertain but rarely succeeds
