Sarkaru Vaari Paata gets Covid shock

Mahesh Babu starrer Sarkaru Vaari Paata shoot had to be halted after one of its unit members tested positive for Covid. The unit is shooting for a crucial second schedule currently where a number of action scenes on Mahesh Babu have been planned.

Super Star Mahesh Babu recently joined the sets of the film amidst all the safety protocols. Certain key sequences on Keerthy Suresh were also planned during this schedule. The team will be back to shoot now after a gap of around 15 days once things are normalised on sets.

Sarkaru Vaari Paata will be directed by Parasuram and bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. SS Thaman is composing the music for this action drama. The movie is set to release in January 2022.

Amidst all this action, another shoot of Mahesh Babu was canceled when it was announced that an ad film which Super Star was to shoot for is now postponed. The ad shot was scheduled to be shot on Mahesh on 21st and 22nd April has now been pushed to a further date due to Covid.

Icon script ready says Dil Raju

Ace producer Dil Raju has confirmed that his much-awaited collaboration with Allu Arjun through ‘Icon’ is pretty much on. He further confirmed that the movie is in development and that he loved the story narrated by Venu Sriram. He trashed all the rumors and said that the project is not shelved contrary to the public notions.

Dil Raju further confirmed that the total script work has been completed. He confidently claimed that he will work on this project with Allu Arjun for sure without fail. Expressing happiness over the script work, Raju said that the script is quite emotional and bound to touch hearts. He added that it’s a matter of pride that such a subject is coming out of his production house after Vakeel Saab.

Describing it as an emotional subject, Raju said that the film’s bound script is ready and that director Venu Sriram will be taking the charge of this film. Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is gearing up for his next release Pushpa where he will be seen in a never before rustic and rugged look. Post Pushpa, the Stylish Star is also working with Prashant Neel who is currently busy wrapping up Salaar with Prabhas.

Hansika signs an experimental film with no edits

Hansika Motwani has signed an experimental film that will have only one character, taken in a single shot with no edits. Raja Dussa is directing this experimental psychological thriller which is titled “105 minutes”.

“Interestingly, the film’s run time is also 105 minutes,” says Raja, adding that the content will be in real time. “There’s no editing because it is shot in a single take. The film is about a girl’s struggle in a house.”

Raja explained that he selected Hansika for her innocent looks which perfectly suited the role. He further added that since she is also a experienced actress she would perfectly fit the role.  Raja reveals that when he and the producer Bommak Shiva went to Mumbai and narrated the script, “Hansika and her mother both were excited. The actress has already started preparing for the role. If all goes well, we we are planning to take the film on the floors on May 3.”

“In this clutter, the only way I can get recognised is by coming up with an out-of-the-box plot like 105 Minutes. I am confident that the film will strike a chord at the box office,” said Raja on reason for him selecting an experimental film

Sonu Sood tests Covid positive

Sonu Sood has tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, the actor informed his fans through a post on his social media handles on Saturday. He further shared that although he has contracted the virus, his “mood and spirit are super positive.” He also shared a message for his fans in his post that read: “Covid – positive. Mood and spirit – super positive. Hi every, this is to inform you that I have tested positive this morning for COVID-19. As a part of precautions, I have already quarantined myself and taking utmost care. But don’t worry this gives me ample time to solve your problems. Remember I am always there for you all.”

 Sonu has been working continuously for the past year since Covid broke out and has been providing relief to countless people. He has provided facilities such as transport, groceries, tuition fees, and even telecom towers to those in need. He has been hailed as a hero on social media because of his social service. Sonu, earlier last year had arranged accommodation for thousands of migrant workers and sent the stranded migrants to their home villages during and after the lockdown last year. The actor also has been helping those who have been badly affected by the pandemic financially.

The actor has placed himself in-home quarantine and is taking all necessary medical precautions. Additionally, he has requested all those who have been around him for the past few days to get tested.

Exhibitors in dilemma, theatres to shut down again?

Looks like the troubles for distributors and exhibitors are not going to end anytime soon. The second wave of Covid has hit them badly keeping crowds to a minimum. On the other hand, the recent government order by AP govt. has further pushed them into deeper troubles. These continuous challenges might force theatres to shut down again.

As per a new GO issued on 8th April, theatres across Andhra Pradesh have been given directives regarding the prices of the tickets. As per the directives, theatres situated in Municipal Corporation, Municipality, Nagar Panchayat, and Gram Panchayat each have been given a slab for ticket prices as per the theatre class.

This year, Tollywood is going to witness a number of big-ticket films, and producers and distributors are really counting on them to pull them out of the lean patch brought in by lockdown last year.

However, amidst the Covid wave and the G.O, a number of films have postponed their releases, this has caused further concerns for distributors. Apart from Vakeel Saab, no other movie is in sights for a release. The Pawan Kalyan starrer too has slowed down and runnig in limited screens. This is giving the exhibitors sleepless nights. The exhibitors, who do not have any new movies to screen might have to shut down the theatres yet again.
