Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi to pair up again

Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi will appear together once again after their last successful outing Fidaa. It is being reported that Venky Kudumula is planning his next in which the Fidaa couple will be seen together again.

Sai Palavi is currently busy with Shyam Singha Roy while she is also being considered for a bunch of big ticket films. Her two other films Love Story and Virata Parvam are completed and ready to release. Both these films were supposed to release in April but got pushed for a later date due to ongoing Covid surge.

Varun Tej is also busy with a bunch of projects. He will be next seen in Ghani and F3. Both these movies are under production currently and the shoot has been halted due to pandemic.

The Venky Kudumula movie will start once both the actors are free from their commitments. Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi were well appreciated for their pairing in Shekhar Kammula’s Fidaa. An official word on Venky’s movie is awaited now but the pairing for sure seems exciting.

Rajinikanth donates Rs 50 lakh towards Covid relief

Actor Rajinikanth on Monday met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin at the secretariat. The Superstar donated Rs 50 lakhs to TNCM Relief Fund. He also appealed to the people to follow the guidelines issued by the government in the view of COVID-19.

“To eradicate corona, I have donated Rs 50 lakhs to Tamil Nadu CM Relief Fund. People should follow, whatever the rules and regulations are given by the government to overcome the Corona,” said Rajinikanth.

This comes after Stalin’s appeal to people to donate money to the CM Relief Fund to fight the second wave of COVID-19.

Earlier last week, Suriya along with father Sivakumar and brother Karthi also met Chief Minister Stalin. The trio donated Rs 1 crore towards Tamil Nadu Covid relief works.

On the work front, Rajinikanth just completed the shoot of Siruthai Siva directorial Annaatthe. The shoot of the film took place in a continuous 35 days schedule in Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City. Special permissions were taken to complete the shootings during the night.

Good decision by Ek Mini Katha team

Amazon Prime Video has bagged the rights of Santosh Sobhan and Kavya Thapar-starrer Ek Mini Katha. Karthik Rapolu has directed this rom-com which was earlier set to release April 30. However, the recurrence of the coronavirus outbreak postponed the release date.

Earlier the makers thought of waiting out till the situation becomes better. However, there have been reports that Amazon Prime Video has offered a decent deal to the movie rights which the makers couldn’t refuse.

“It’s true that the streaming rights of Ek Mini Katha have been sold to Amazon Prime. The film is all set to stream on the OTT platform from May end” said a film unit member to the media.

On March 11, the makers of the film unveiled the film’s teaser. Since then, the video has been trending on the internet, and it has garnered rave responses from both audiences as well as critics. ‘Ek Mini Katha’, produced by UV Concepts. Shraddha Das, Brahmaji, Sudharshan, Sapthagiri, Krishna Murali Posani, and Keshav Deepak also feature in the movie.

Bad news for Family Man fans

Family Man 2 is one of the most awaited web series right now. Ever since Raj and DK announced the sequel of the 2019 spy thriller series, fans have heightened their expectations. With the addition of Samantha to the lead cast, the makers have promised that this season is going to have double the excitement.

However, according to reports, there might be a slight change in the release of the episodes this time around. The first season of Family Man saw all the 10 episodes releasing on the same day. This might not be the case this time around as there are reports that Family Man makers might release one episode per week.

Manoj Bajpai, Priyamani, and Samantha play key roles in this thriller series based. Manoj plays the role of an NIA agent while Samantha is playing Raji who’s a protagonist in the show. The trailer of the web series will release on May 19th and will have the release date also announced along with it.

Radhe pales in front of Jathiratnalu

Salman Khan starrer Radhe released amidst great expectations. The movie saw Prabhudeva and Salman Khan reunite after Dabanng 3. With theatres being shut, Radhe released on Zee 5 in India and had a theatrical release overseas only.

The movie has been trashed by critics and there haven’t been any takers for it on Zee 5 post the initial euphoria. In fact, the overseas collections of this film have turned out to be one of the lowest in Salman’s career.

The film failed to even collect on par with Naveen Polishetty’s recent blockbuster Jathiratnalu. While Jathiratnalu collected $700K (Premieres + 4 Days Gross) in USA, Radhe has not even managed half of that. This action film has grossed less than $250K in 4 days despite theatre situation in USA being much better than at the time of the release of Telugu comedy.

These returns have indeed been disappointing for Radhe makers who went ahead with a hybrid release model of OTT + theatres with great hope.

Why Ravi Teja refused Vetrimaran’s offer?

Mass Maharaja is on a roll these days after the success of Krack. He has pinned a lot of hopes on the upcoming action-drama Khiladi which is currently under production. Post Khiladi, Ravi Teja will work with Tamil director Sarath Mandava who made Ko 2 in 2016.

This will not be the first time the ‘Krack’ star would be working with a Tamil director. He has earlier worked with Samuthrikani in Shambo Siva Shambo and Siruthai Siva in Daruvu.

However, it was recently revealed that Mass Maharaja had to say no to acclaimed Tamil director Vetrimaran in what could have been his first Tamil film. Vetri had offered Ravi Teja a key role in his 2018 blockbuster ‘Vada Chennai’. This Dhanush starrer film was offered to Ravi Teja where he was required to play the role of Rajan, the leader of Dhanush’s gang. Although the actor loved the story, he couldn’t play the role due to the dates issue.

This was revealed by Vetrimaran himself in a recent interview with cricketer R Ashwin on the latter’s YouTube channel. Malayalam actor Ameer later bagged this amazing character and was well appreciated by the audience as well as the critics. Interestingly Vijay Sethupathi was initially supposed to play the character that was later offered to Ravi Teja and eventually played by Ameer.

Family Man 2 trailer to be out on this day

Srinivas Reddy to use Chiranjeevi’s title

Comedian turned hero Srinivas Reddy is starring in a multi-starrer Mugguru Monagallu. Abhilash Reddy is directing this comedy which also stars Kannada actor Deekshith Shetty and Vennela Ramarao. The makers of the film have released the first look of the film today.

Srinivas Reddy along with Deekshith and Vennela Ramarao are posing with their eyes, mouth and ears shut disclosing their hearing, visual and vocal impairment. The poster promises that Mugguru Monagallu is going to be a hilarious entertainer with a different concept.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s 1994 film had the same title in which he played a triple role. The movie also starred Nagma, Ramya Krishna, and Roja in lead roles opposite Chiranjeevi

Is the actress in real life somewhat like her on-screen avatar? “When (director) Kaashvi (Nair) narrated it to me and after she got to know me, she said Radha is Rakul! I am a little punctual about time and I have to do things right. I am a walking talking timetable and I could relate a lot with Radha. So, I do agree to that part,” Rakul said in a recent interview.

“Sardar Ka Grandson” is the story of Amreek played by Arjun Kapoor, who wants to fulfill the wish of his grandmother, essayed by Neena Gupta.

NTR speaks about moving to Hollywood

Jr NTR in an interview with a Hollywood-based portal spoke about his future plans and upcoming movies. The RRR star told the portal that he is open to accepting offers from Hollywood if there is an opportunity for a role of an Indian origin person.

“Why not? If there is an opportunity for an actor of Indian origin to be in world cinema then absolutely, it would be a great thing to do. India as a country had a lot of inhibition before but it is progressing now in terms of talent and films,” said NTR when asked about his opinion on acting in Hollywood

NTR was responding to a question about his upcoming projects when he spoke about his upcoming film with Koratala Siva and added that post that he’ll work with Prashanth Neel. The Young Tiger also mentioned that he is not a huge fan of the word pan- India and that it sounds absurd. He added that rather than a pan- India film, the movie with Koratala can be termed as the one that is traveling all over India.

The actor is currently in home isolation after testing positive for Covid. He recently updated his fans on his health through Twitter. He Tweeted that he is doing much better and will soon be back to normal.
