Bigg Boss 5 opening episode registers average TRPs

0

The much-awaited Bigg Boss 5 got off to a start earlier this month amidst great anticipations. The show which has already seen its first elimination was expected to receive record TRPs. Nagarjuna is hosting this season as well.

However, much to everyone’s surprise, the opening episode recorded a TRP of just 15.70 which is not quite the figure makers were looking for. In contrast to this the Bigg Boss Season one first episode had 16.18 TRP which fell to 15.05 for season 2. The third season saw a massive hike in the opening episode TRP with 17.9 while the fourth season opener recorded a whopping 18.5 TRP.

This fall in the Bigg Boss 5 is being attributed to lesser-known faces as contestants. It needs to be seen if the show manages to pick up the momentum in the coming days

The Saidabad rape and murder case has brought forth the issue of woman and child safety yet again. The Hyderabad police have launched a manhunt for the accused Pallakonda Raju with Hyderabad police commissioner Anjani Kumar announcing a reward of Rs 10 lakh for helping nab the culprit.

With such a gruesome incident happening in the very city they live in, there has been no reaction from the Tollywood industry barring Mahesh Babu and Manchu Manoj. While Manoj visited the resident of the young victim, Mahesh Babu took to social media and highlighted the issue, and urged the authorities to take swift action.

Tollywood stars command a massive following and social clout. A word or action from the celebrities will help in amplifying the matter and even could lead to the speedy arrest of the culprit. In such a situation, it’s high time the T-Town celebrities come forward and create awareness on such matters.

Proposal for an online portal was pushed by Chiranjeevi and co. – Perni Nani

0

Andhra Pradesh I&PR Minister Perni Nani has stated that the recently issued G.O on the online portal for movie tickets is not a sudden development. The minister said that the first-ever proposal for movie tickets sale online was made way back in early 2000s.

He further added that the plan of managing the portal through AP State Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation (APSFTTDC) was done to ensure maximum transparency. Adding to this, Nani said that this would lead to a reduction of the service charge that the audience will have to pay over per booking.

Interestingly, this suggestion was brought forth by Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Rajamouli, and Dil Raju who had requested the government to go ahead with the portal during their last meet in June 2020.

The government had announced last week that it will be getting its own movie ticket booking online portal soon. The decision was announced through a G.O released by the Home Department .
