Mega Star Chiranjeevi who attended the finale event of Bigg Boss 3 hosted by Nagarjuna has surprised the audience with the commitments he made to few contestants. Chiru has offered 10Lakhs amount to Mehaboob on spot and he even announced that he will be offering a role to Divi in his upcoming film which is Lucifer remake. Currently, Chiru is working for Acharya which is being directed by Koratala Siva.

Chiranjeevi has offered a small role to Bigg Boss fame Mehaboob Dil Se as he was impressed with the work which he was doing on YouTube. Sources say that Mehaboob will be seen as a folk dancer who will appear in the first half and his role will have an emotional connection as his character will be killed in the pre-interval scene. It is known that Ram Charan will be doing a special role and the expectations on this film are sky-high. The pre-release business of this film is closed in all areas for a record price. Kajal Aggarwal and Pooja Hedge will be seen opposite Chiranjeevi and Ram Charn respectively. Mani Sharma has composed tunes for this film and Ram Chan produced this film under Konidela Productions.

  1. Chaavu Kaburu Challaga – The film has done excellent pre-release business in all territories. The main reason for pre-release business is Makers of the film (GA2 Pictures) with 100% Success ratio. Theatrical rights of the film sold for 13Cr and the film is only managed to collect 3.2 Cr share on weekend, Heavy loss venture for all the parties involved. One of the biggest disasters of Tollywood post corona lockdown.
  2. Mosagallu – According to the makers the film is made on more than 50Cr budget and Vishnu promised the audience that he will deliver a blockbuster film with Mosagallu. But the distributors are not interested to take the film at higher prices, so makers released the film on their own in all Territories. Considering budget of 50Cr, the film should at least l recover 50% on theatricals for breakeven, But the film has disastrous weekend and collected around 1Cr share on weekend and its almost closing share. Heavy loss venture for the Makers. The recovery is not even 5% of the budget.
  3. Sashi -The pre-release hype was good because of a blockbuster song. The Movie sold for a decent price of 3Cr. Day1 noon shows starts on a decent note but failed to continue the momentum because of bad reviews and talk. The weekend share is less than 1Cr. Loss venture for all parties involved.

Wild Dog Pre-Release Business

Nagarjuna starrer Wilddog was earlier planned for OTT Release and they signed a deal with Netflix for a Huge price, But after lockdown, the movies are performing well in theatres and there is no impact of corona for Tollywood cinema so the makers have decided to release the film in Theatres first. They conducted a press meet and clarified that the movie will be releasing in Theatres on April 2nd. The trailer revives a very good response and created a buzz about the film.

Coming to the theatrical business of the film, Annapurna studios releasing this film in most territories. Andhra internal business is being done in 4Cr ratio. Total Telugu states rights will be close to 8Cr and Worldwide rights will be approx 9Cr. So the film needs to collect 9Cr share worldwide for breakeven. Nagarjuna promoting WildDog like never before. Oopiri and Maharshi Writer Solomon has directed the film and Produced by Matinee Entertainments.

Stylish Star Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s ‘ Pushpaa’ is shaping up at a fast pace. The movie is slated to release on August 13th. According to the latest buzz, the characterization of Allu Arjun whose name in the film is Pushpa Raj is that of an egoist. So Director Sukumar wanted to cast someone who can match that ego on the screen.

Initially, the team considered Vijay Sethupathi but he couldn’t get on board due to the issue of the dates. Later, the team of Sukumar referred Fahadh Fahsil to him. Sukumar, who was not aware of Fahadh, saw his work and was impressed. He went to meet Fahadh and decided to give a detailed 1.5-hour narration. However, to Sukumar’s surprise, Fahadh said that his wife, Nazriya, and he are big fans of Sukumar’s movie and that they love his work. So, Fahadh was inclined to accept the offer even without listening to the script. However, Sukumar still narrated the script and Fahadh listened to 20 mins of the script and decided to accept it immediately. After getting Fahadh on board, Sukumar decided to make some changes in the characterization of the villain role to include more buildup shots and show the ego that the character has. He wants to match the egoistic nature of both the hero and the villain to present an engaging duel on-screen between two similar personnel.

Pushpa will be releasing in 5 Indian languages simultaneously on 13th August 2021. Rashmika is the lead actress in the film along with Actor Sunil doing an important role with negative shades. Mythri Movie Makers is bankrolling this project in association with Mutham Shetty Media.

Super Star Mahesh Babu has teamed up with director Parsuram for Sarkaru Vaari Paata after scoring a blockbuster with Sarileru Neekevvaru last year. This film was launched on May 31st and the shoot has commenced from 25th January in Dubai. First schedule has been wrapped and team is gearing for their second schedule.

Second schedule of this film was earlier planned in Dubai but later makers have changed their decision and it is to be canned in Goa. According to our sources, we heard, nearly 50% of the shoot will be wrapped by the end of the second schedule and the team is planning to wrap the entire shoot before August 2021. If all the biggies are released as scheduled then Sarkaru Vaari Paata will be released for Sankranthi 2022. If there is any change in the release date of RRR which was scheduled for October release, then Sarkaru Vaari Paata will be hitting screens in 2021 itself.

Keerthy Suresh will be romancing Mahesh for the first time in this commercial entertainer. SS Thaman is composing music and this film is being produced under 14 Reels Plus in association with Mythri Movie Makers and GMB Entertainments.

Day 2 (Saturday) started with disastrous noon shows and it has hardly collected only 40L, taking 2 days Worldwide collections to 2.3Crs. Theatrical rights of this film are valued at 13.5Crs and it only recovered 17% of its business. Chaavu Kaburu Challaga will be ending up as the biggest disaster post-Corona. This film is directed by debut director Koushik which is presented by Allu Aravind under GA2 Pictures banner.

RangDe Censor Report

Nithiin had a bad start this year with Check which released in February. It failed miserably at the Box-office and he is looking for a strong comeback with RangDe. Nithiin and Keerthy Suresh starrer RangDe is the first film to open the summer season which is releasing on 26th March.

The trailer of RangDe is out which premises to be out and out family entertainment with a beautiful love track. The team of RangDe is promoting the film aggressively ahead of its release. This film recently completed its censor formalities and censored ‘UA’ with crispy runtime of 2hrs 10mins. The film is carrying a positive buzz are expected to open well at the Box-office. Jathi Ratnalu is creating a sensation not only in the domestic market but also in the overseas market. This film has surpassed Half Million mark ($500k) in just 3 days in USA region which is the first-ever film to do so post Corona lockdown. As of Friday Jathi Ratnalu has grossed around $850K in USA, A$202K in Australia and NZ$29K from New Zealand.

With team Jathi Ratnalu visiting theatres this weekend, it is likely to cross $1Million in USA. Overall Jathi Ratnalu is the first film of 2021 from Tollywood to surpass $1 Million in the Overseas region. Overseas gross will be around 7.35Crs with 3.4Crs Share. Naveen Polishetty’s debut film Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya has grossed $250K in USA and now this film has exceeded beyond the expectations though there were fewer shows in few locations and the screening has been stopped in Australia in its first weekend due to censor issue.
