Sukumar plans solid villains for Allu Arjun

Icon Star Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s ‘ Pushpa’ is shaping up really well with some big names joining the movies’ cast. The shoot of the movie has been impacted due to the Covid second wave. The movie is slated to release on August 13th but the makers might be now looking for a later date.

According to the latest buzz, the characterization of Allu Arjun is going to be quite eccentric and intersting. So Director Sukumar wanted to cast someone who can match that energy and craziness on the screen.

It’s a known fact that Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil will be playing the antagonist role in the movie. But, he’s not going to be the only one against Allu Arjun in the movie. Sunil and Kannada actor Dhananjaya will also be playing negative characters in Pushpa.

It is being reported that the movie’s first part will feature Sunil and Dhananjaya as negative characters while Fahadh will be introduced towards the end of first part. Sukumar has planned so in order generate bigger interest for the movie’s second part.

This is an exciting buzz that has got fans waiting for the movie with greater expectations now. Pushpa will be releasing in 5 Indian languages simultaneously. Rashmika is the lead actress in the film and Anasuya will also be playing a key role in the movie. Mythri Movie Makers is bankrolling this project and Devi Sri Prasad will be joining Sukumar and Allu Arjun yet again after Arya and Arya 2 as the music director

RangDe to release on OTT on this date

Nithiin’s Rang De failed to impress the audience and was declared a box-office failure. This movie was released amidst great expectations considering the fresh pairing of Nithiin and Keerthy Suresh. Adding to it, Venky Atluri’s track record with rom-com genre also created a huge buzz for the movie.

According to reports, the romantic comedy-drama that released on 26th March will be streaming on Zee 5 from 21st May. While the movie failed at the box office, it was well appreciated as a decent family entertainer with enough comedy and emotional scenes.

The movie was bankrolled under Sithara Entertainments banner and Devi Sri Prasad composed music for this film. Nithin and Keerthy Suresh play the roles of Arjun and Anupama who are childhood friends. RangDe also had an impressive support cast of Vennela Kishore, Abhinav Gomatam, Subhash, and Naresh.

Jr NTR to team up with this actress for the first time

NTR30 to be directed by Koratala Siva has generated a great buzz. This will be the second collaboration between Jr NTR and Koratala Siva after the hugely successful Janatha Garage. Koratala has already started pre-production works on this much-awaited movie.

According to industry sources Kiara Advani will be pairing up with NTR for this film. Kiara had earlier worked with Koratala Siva in Bharat Ane Nenu which launched her as a top leading face in Tollywood.

Koratala is currently busy with Acharya which was scheduled to release last year and was postponed due to Covid. Now the movie has once again been postponed for a later date owing to Covid second wave. The makers are now awaiting for the situations to improve to decide on the release date

NTR meanwhile is busy shooting for RRR and will most probably start works on his 30th post-RRR’s release later this year. This will be the first time Kiara will be teaming up with NTR and the pair has already got the fans excited

Another Tollywood director passes away of Covid

Covid continued its deathly spell and took away another Tollywood director away. Young Tollywood director and writer Ravi Nandyala passed away earlier today of Covid related complications. He was receiving treatment for Covid for the past few days in a Hyderabad hospital.

Ravi had worked for several films as a writer. He made his directorial debut in 2014 with Lakshmi Raave Maa Intiki which starred Naga Shaurya and Avika Gor in the lead roles. He had worked as a writer for Raj Tarun’s Orey Bujjiga. Ravi was also working on another film starring Sapthagiri.

Actor Sapthagiri stepped forward and helped Ravi’s family with Rs 1 lakh. Producer K Radha Mohan had donated Rs 1 lakh and has been monitored his health condition with the doctor since the director/ writer got admitted to the hospital. Since then, his condition has deteriorated, and he was critically ill. The Tollywood fraternity has expressed its condolence on the sudden demise of Ravi.

Samantha’s Family Man 2 to release on this date?

Samantha will be making her digital debut with the Family Man 2. The second season of this spy thriller web series is going to be bigger and more intense this time around. Starring Manoj Bajpayee and Priyamani alongside Samantha, Family Man 2 might release on June 11 as per reports.

Raj and DK, directors of the spy thriller web series recently shared a pic of the actress with them. The picture appears to be taken on set with the actress in her look from the show. The Family Man look of the actress has indeed surprised many.

There have been rumours that ‘Majili’ actress is playing the antagonist role in this season named Raji.

Although Samantha had hosted a talk show ‘Sam Jam’ for Aha, the season was short-lived due to lack of interest. Family Man 2 will be her debut web series and fans are eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of her.

Suriya starrer Soorarai Pottru (Aakasham Nee Haddura) after winning critics and audience’s hearts has now achieved another huge feat. The movie which released in November 2020 on Amazon prime India received a superb positive response. The film is now one of the most-watched Indian films on Prime Video. The film is rated 9.1 on IMDB.

A total of 60,366 people have given their ratings and 48,000 people voted with 10-star ratings. The movie has now entered the top 3 highest-rated movies in the world on IMDB. This Suriya starrer now follows ‘The ShawShawnk Redemption’ and ‘The Godfather’ at number 3 spot.

Early this year The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had revealed a list of 366 feature films that were eligible for consideration for the 93rd edition of Oscars. Suriya starrer Soorarai Pottru, Directed by Sudha Kongara was part of this list.

This movie is based on the life story of Captain Gopinath who founded Air Deccan. the movie follows a slightly fictitious account of the former air force officer.

Jr NTR recently tested positive for Corona. After testing positive, he immediately took to social media to inform his fans of his health condition.

“I’ve tested positive for Covid19. Plz don’t worry, I’m doing absolutely fine. My family & I have isolated ourselves & we’re following all protocols under the supervision of doctors. I request those who’ve come into contact with me over the last few days to pl get tested. Stay safe” tweeted NTR on Monday.

Rajasekhar’s daughter debuting opposite CM’s son

Actor Rajasekhar’s younger daughter Shivatmika has already marked her debut as an actress with ‘Dorasani’ movie. But his elder daughter Shivani Rajashekar is yet to mark her debut as an actress.

Shivani was supposed to make her debut with a Telugu remake of Alia Bhat and Arjun Kapoor starrer 2 States. However, that doesn’t seem to be going on floors anytime soon. The young actress will now make her debut with another remake but in Tamil.

She will be playing a key role in Udayanidhi Stalin’s upcoming film which is a remake of Ayushman Khurana’s Article 15. Shivani will be playing Sayani Gupta’s role from the original. This is quite an unconventional and brave choice by Rajasekhar’s daughter as the role will be a de-glam one with more scope for acting.

Boney Kapoor will be producing the movie in Tamil. The story is about an honest police officer who goes against castism. The shooting of the movie will take place in the forest regions of Pollachi.

Nithiin’s Check to stream from tonight

Nithiin starrer Check that released earlier this year is all set to stream on SunNxt from 12 AM Tonight. Nithiin’s Check, directed by Chandra Sekhar Yeleti follows the story of Aditya (Nithiin) a con artist, and a chess player, and his journey through a jail sentence.

The movie failed to impress the audience and didn’t perform too well at the box office. Nithiin’s Check which opened up with mixed reports and poor word of mouth failed to sustain at the Box-office. It registered average openings on Day 1 as the makers failed to create buzz and couldn’t promote well. The pre-release business of this movie is 16.8Crs and the closing collections were around 8.67Crs only.

The movie also starred Rakul Preet Singh and Priya Prakash Varrier in lead roles. The music was scored by Kalyani Malik and it was bankrolled by Bhavya Creations. The year has not been so good for Nithiin with both his films Check and Rang De failing to impress audiences and critics alike.

Now Nithiin has put all his hopes on Maestro, a remake of 2018 Hindi superhit Andhadhun. Andhadhu will also star Tamannah and Nabha Natesh in key roles. Maestro will be directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and the movie will be bankrolled by N Sudhakar Reddy and Nikitha Reddy under Sreshth Movies.

Tollywood on a remake spree

Every industry enters a phase where a particular trend becomes the flavour of the season and is adopted by all. Tollywood is no different. There was a time when every hero wanted to do faction movies, then came the age of romantic entertainers, then came the comedy drama phase and so on. From the looks of it, this year appears to be following the trend of remakes.

It started with Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab which is a remake of Pink. Next in line is another remake by Pawan Kalyan of Malayalam movie Ayyapannum Koshisyum. Similarly, Mega Star Chiranjeevi will star in Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer’s remake. Mohan Raja will be directing this action drama. There are also reports of Chiranjeevi remaking Ajith’s Vedalam which will be directed by Meher Ramesh. Victory Venkatesh is also not too behind on this trend. His next two release are Drushyam 2 and Narappa are both remakes of Drishyam 2 and Asuran respectively.

Not just the senior actors, even junior actors have also boarded the remake train. Nithiin will be remaking Andhadhun’s remake in Tollywood, titled Maestro. Bellamkonda Srinivas who earned a much-needed hit with ‘Rakhshasudu’, a remake of Tamil film Ratsasan will be starring in the remake of Dhanush’s blockbuster Karnan that released earlier this year. Srinivas will also star in Bollywood remake of Prabhas’ 2005 hit Chattrapati.

Nivetha Thomas, who earlier this year starred in Pink’s Telugu remake will once again feature in a remake. Regina Cassandra will co-star with her in the Tollywood remake of Korean superhit Midnight Runner.

Samantha too has in the past acted in successive remakes. She featured in U-Turn a remake of a Kannada film of same name. Similarly, she also starred in Jaanu, a remake of Tamil hit 96 along with Oh Baby! a remake of Korean film Miss Granny.

Raj Tarun, Satyadev, Vishwak Sen etc are some other names who will all be seen in remakes soon.
