Allu Arjun sets another social media record

Icon Star Allu Arjun is one of the most popular actors today. He will soon be setting his foot into the pan-India market with the action thriller Pushpa. Even before venturing pan-India, his following is growing rapidly all over.

The actor recently amassed a whopping 13 million followers on Instagram. This makes him the most-followed actor from the south. Allu Arjun is followed by the likes of Vijay Devarakonda (12.9 million), Dulquer Salman (8.7 million), Mahesh Babu (7.1 million), and Prabhas (6.9 million).

Actresses command a much bigger following on the photo-sharing app. The title of south’s most-followed celebrity is Rashmika Mandanna who recently crossed a massive 20 million mark on Insta.

Both Allu Arjun and Rashmika will be seen together in Sukumar’s Pushpa. The teasers, songs, and character reveals have been a great success and fans are eagerly waiting for Christmas to catch a glimpse of the film.

Akhanda team gearing up for October release

Akhanda is one of the most awaited films of the year. The action drama is the third one in the combination of Balakrishna and the director after Simha and Legend. The makers have decided to release the film on October 13th. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what kind of intense action the duo has packed in the film. Adding to this, the teasers of the movie have also taken the hype around the movie to great heights.

The film was earlier scheduled to release on May 28 according to original plans. However, it had to be postponed indefinitely due to the Covid second wave. Boyapati recently revealed that the makers are being watchful at the moment as there is an impending risk of Covid third wave as well. The unit has decided to release the film only after it is safe and everything eases.

The unit wrapped up the shoot of the climax portions and fights in Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu earlier this month. The makers had sought special permissions to shoot the climax fights in the temple premises and its said to be one of the biggest highlights of the movie. Akhanda will also star Pragya Jaiswal in the lead role. Dwaraka Entertainments banner will be bankrolling this fantasy action drama.

Ravi Teja’s Khiladi to hit the screens on Diwali

This Diwali just got more special for Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja fans as his upcoming action thriller will be hitting the screens for the festive season. The action thriller was scheduled to release on May 28th. However, with Covid second wave canceling shoots along with director Ramesh Varma testing positive, the further shoot and release kept getting pushed

There were also rumours of the film going for a digital release. It is reported that Khiladi has been getting good offers from multiple OTTs. Amazon Prime Video has reportedly shown great interest and put forward a good deal for the film’s digital rights. However, the makers have clarified that the film will only release in theatres.

Ravi Teja is back in form with Krack and the inside reports on Khiladi are also quite positive. This might be a reason for OTTs interest in Khiladi.

However, the makers have made it clear that they are looking only for a theatrical release. An OTT release is not on the mind of the makers.

Ravi Teja will be seen in a dual role in this action thriller. The movie is produced jointly by Satyanarayana Koneru and Ramesh Varma under the banner of A Studios LLP. It stars Dimple Hayathi, Unni Mukundan, Arjun Sarja and Meenakshi Chaudhary in key roles.

Naga Shaurya’s ‘Lakshya’ shooting wrapped up

Naga Shaurya’s landmark 20th film ‘Lakshya’ has wrapped up its entire shooting part. Sree Venkateswara Cinemas announced a wrap-up on social media. The working still featured Dheerendra Santhossh Jagarlapudi, Naga Shaurya Ketika Sharma.

Lakshya is a sports drama based on archery and it will be narrated in an engaging manner with adequate entertaining and exciting elements. Naga Shourya has undergone rigorous body transformation for his muscular look in the film

Post the wrap up the team shifted their focus to post-production works which are currently underway. Presented by Sonali Narang, the film is produced by Narayan Das K. Narang, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao, Sharrath Marar in Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, and Northstar Entertainment Pvt Ltd banners.

Ketika Sharma is playing as heroine in this film while versatile actor Jagapathi Babu will be seen in a crucial role.

Is RRR release for Sankranti is just a buzz?

SS Rajamouli’s RRR is one of the most awaited films across industries today. The film has undergone several delays and has pushed its release multiple times. The movie already has had three release day changes. Initially planned for 30th July 2020, the movie then moved to 8th Jan 2021. From this date, it was pushed to 13th October 2021 and now it will have one more change. This delay is facing major opposition from the distributors who are not happy with the continuous delays on the project.

While RRR release date was still in uncertainty a lot of Tollywood biggies locked the Sankranti 2022 release date. Now, suddenly reports have emerged that even RRR is eyeing that Sankranti slot. This has raised many questions about the makers’ decision.

Now we look into what industry circles talking about the reason behind this sudden Sakranti release buzz?

One of the primary reasons for this is the mounting pressure from all the distributors and exhibitors who have paid hefty amounts as advances for the film. The exhibitors and distributors are seeking a return on the advances paid to buy upcoming Sankranti releases and have stated that post the release of these films, they will pay back Danayya.To calm this noise, DVV Danayya, the producer of this big-budget extravaganza informed distributors that film is coming for this Sankranti without consulting anyone.

However, now the bigger question remains- Will RRR come for Sankranti?. While the Sankranti release date was mentioned only to evade distributors’ pressure, the only condition this could happen is if SS Rajamouli, Danayya, and other movie teams are on the same page and everyone agrees to this release date.

As per our sources, 29th March will be the date for the grand release of this Magnum Opus.

Maestro’s sneak peek is out

Nithiin will be seen as a blind piano player in his milestone 30th film Maestro. Directed by director Merlapaka Gandhi, the film skipped a theatrical release and opted for a direct-to-streaming release on Disney+ Hotstar on 17 September 2021.

The film’s trailer was released recently to an overwhelming response and today the makers have released a sneak peek video. Nithiin is seen playing piano in this sneak peek. A remake of 2018 Bollywood blockbuster Andhadhun, Maestro promises to be extremely entertaining with many thrilling elements. It has romance, twists, humor, and other commercial ingredients. Maestro’s recent trailer indeed heightened the expectations on the film. The film features Tamannah, Jissu Sen Gupta, and Nabha Natesh in key roles

Mahati Swara Sagar has come up with some captivating tunes for the film that has cinematography handled by J Yuvaraj. Nabha Natesh is the female lead, while Tamannaah Bhatia will be seen in a negative shaded role.

N Sudhakar Reddy and Nikitha Reddy are producing the film under Shreshth Movies Banner, while Rajkumar Akella is presenting it.

Vishal’s Saamanyudu first look is out

Actor Vishal is teaming up with debutant director Thu Pa Saravanan for another action drama. The movie will be made on his home banner Vishal Film Factory (VFF).

On the occasion of Vishal’s birthday, the title and first look poster of the film were revealed. Vishal31 is titled Saamanyudu that comes with the tagline Not A Common Man.

Vishal can be seen bashing a batch of rowdies with a baseball bat in the poster. He appears aggressive here and the poster justifies the tagline- He is ‘Not A Common Man’.

Dimple Hayathi is the heroine opposite Vishal in the film and it will also feature Yogi Babu, Baburaj Jacob, PA Tulasi, and Raveena Ravi in crucial roles.

Yuvan Shankar Raja who provided some chartbuster albums to Vishal previously has scored music for Saamanyudu, while Kavin Raj supervised cinematography.

The makers of Bigg Boss Telugu have been taking all necessary precautions to ensure everything goes smoothly during the show. But, looks like the virus can strike even the most cautious ones. Reports are emerging that 2 out of the 18 contestants have reported Covid positive and this development has shocked the Bigg Boss unit.

The contestants have all been under strict quarantine in ITC Hotel in Hyderabad. Their movements were strictly under restrictions and proper bio-bubble-like conditions were set in place. However, despite all precautions Covid has breached the bubble.

The show was supposed to go on air much earlier this year but was pushed for September 5th due to rising Covid cases and less time for preparation. Finally when the show is set to resume in a week’s time, this news has indeed caught both makers as well as fans off guard.

Seetimaarr fixes 10th September as the new release date

Gopichand and Tamannah starrer Seetimaarr has finally got a release date. Directed by Sampath Nandi, Seetimaarr was earlier scheduled to release earlier this year but ran into multiple financial troubles and lockdown-related delays. The makers have now fixed 10th September as the new release date and Love Story is now postponed and there are no other theatrical releases set for that day.

The movie has failed to create any buzz and recently there were reports of Seetimarr going for an OTT release. However, with the theatres opening up the makers have decided to go with a theatrical release. The two songs- ‘Jwala Reddy’ and ‘Pepsi Aunty’ that have been released so far have received a dull reception. 

Gopichand will be playing a Kabaddi coach in the film produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi under Srinivasaa Silver Screen.
