Thalaivi will win five national awards: Producer Vishnu Induri

The pre-release event of Kangana Ranaut and Aravind Swamy starter Thalaivi took place at Hyderabad today. AL Vijay is directing this biographical film which follows former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s journey.

Kangana will be essaying the titular role while Aravind Swamy will be playing the role of Superstar and former Tamil Nadu CM MG Ramachandran’s role. The film has been in making for the past couple of years and faces delays due to Covid.

Speaking at the event, Vishnu Induri the producer of the film said that Thalaivi is going to be a monumental film for each unit member’s career. He further added that the film will surely win 5 national awards and anything less than that will be disappointing.

Kangana Ranaut thanked every unit member and conveyed her gratitude to writer Vijayendra Prasad who convinced her to do the film. She added that she was not confident of the project considering she had zero knowledge of Tamil Nadu politics and the film industry. However, the ace writer walked her through all the details and she was able to complete the film.

The pan- India project will release on September 10th in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. GV Prakash has scored the music for the film which is written by K Vijayendra Prasad.

Shahrukh Khan- Atlee film goes on floors

Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee’s much-awaited film has finally gone on floors amidst great secrecy. The Bollywood superstar was spotted along with Atlee in Pune and the pictures have gone viral. Even though there’s no official word on the film, reports suggest that the director has managed to pull a great casting coup with the film.

Seetimaarr Censor report: Action filled entertainer

Gopichand and Tamannah starrer Seetimaarr is finally going to hit the screens on 10th September. Sampath Nandi is directing this sports action drama and the film completed its censor formalities on Saturday. The film has received a U/A certification

The film will be an out-and-out commercial entertainer packed with actions sequences. The fights, reportedly have come out quite well and there will be a subplot laced with action and romantic scenes that will run parallel to the Kabaddi action.

Director Sampath Nandi is teaming up with Gopichand for the second time in his career after 2017 hit Goutham Nanda. The film will also see the combination go Sampath Nandi and Tamannah. The two have earlier worked in Racha and Bengal Tiger.

With a runtime of 138 minutes, this will be the first out and out commercial film hitting the screens in a long time. Gopichand will be playing a Kabaddi coach in the film produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi under Srinivasaa Silver Screen.

Akash Puri’s Romantic completes censor

Star director Puri Jagannadh has provided story, screenplay and dialogues for his son Akash Puri’s next outing Romantic being helmed by his protégé Anil Paduri. Puri Jagannadh is also producing the film in association with Charmme Kaur under Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies and Puri Connects banners.

Meanwhile, the film’s censor formalities have been completed and it gets U/A certificate and no cuts were suggested by the censor sleuths. The poster shows Akash Puri cuddling Ketika Sharma from behind and it justifies the title of the movie. The film will be coming soon in theatres, announced the makers.

Starring Ramya Krishna in an important role, Romantic is billed to be an intense romantic entertainer. Sunil Kashyap has scored music for the film, while Naresh handles the cinematography.

Kiara Advani is on a roll. The actress has some big projects both in Tollywood as well as Bollywood. The actress has a bunch of projects lined up in both Hindi and Telugu. RC15 will see the return of Ram Charan and Kiara pair. While their previous movie Vinaya Vidheya Rama failed, their pairing and chemistry were well appreciated by all. Directed by Shankar, this film will be based on social issues.

Multiple plotlines and theories that have been floated about the movie. Some say that the Mega Power Star will be playing the role of a young and dynamic IAS officer fighting corruption. There is another set that believes that RC15 is going to be a re-adaptation of Shankar’s Mudhavalan (Oke Okkaddu)

Anil has narrated the complete script to Balakrishna who has reportedly okayed it. True to Balayya’s style, this movie is going to be an out-and-out mass action film. Anil Ravipudi is leaving no stone unturned to highlight its commercial elements and bring out the best.

“An official announcement on Balakrishna- Anil Ravipudi film will be made during Dusshera,” said Sahu Garpati of Shine Screens which will be bankrolling this much-awaited project.

Tuck Jagadish producer opens up on OTT release controversy

Nani and Ritu Varma starrer Tuck Jagadish’s OTT release has been the talk of the town right from the day it was announced. The decision to release the film digitally drew a lot of flak and many industry insiders and producers lashed out at Nani and Shine Screens for this decision.

The Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce (TSFCC) had issued a note on the OTT release. The statement put out requested the producers to wait till October 2021 and if the situation still doesn’t improve then opt for OTT. However, much to everyone’s surprise Nani’s Tuck Jagadish was announced to release on Amazon Prime. Interestingly Venkatesh’s Narappa also went the digital way after this announcement however, Nani and Shine Screens drew maximum criticism.

Speaking to media on this issue Sahu Garapati, Tuck Jagadish’s producer said that they had always intended for a theatrical release.

“The film’s shooting was completed in last December itself and we planned for a release in April, However, Corona spoiled the plans. We again waited for the situation to improve but even now there are talks of a third wave. Adding to this the situation in neighbouring states is still unclear with night curfews and occupancy restrictions still in place,” said the producer. The uncertain future led the team to go for Amazon Prime for release, said Sahu.

He further added that the support he got from the industry on this issue has been great and that Shine Screens will always be thankful. The film has a runtime of 2 hours 20 minutes which will surely be an advantage feels the producer.

Speaking about the film, Sahu said that it is an out-and-out emotion-driven film and will surely impress the family audience. Shiva Nirvana has directed this film which will release on Amazon Prime Video on September 10th.

Rakul questioned for six hours by ED officials

Rakul Preet Singh on Friday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in connection with a money-laundering probe linked to a four-year-old drug case.

She reached the ED office here around 9:10 AM., an hour before the scheduled time. The interrogation went on for six hours and the actress was reportedly asked 30 questions in relation to the drug case which caught Tollywood by shock in 2017.

The ED has summoned Rakul for questioning on September 6 but she had sought more time citing her busy shooting schedule. However, the agency declined to postpone the questioning and asked her to appear three days before the scheduled time.

She is the third Tollywood personality being questioned by the ED. Director Puri Jagannadh was questioned for nearly 10 hours on Tuesday while actor Charmme Kaur was quizzed for about eight hours on Thursday.
