Multiplex faces fine as annoyed moviegoer goes to court

Watching a movie should be a relaxing and entertaining experience and not a grueling and patience-testing session. This is exactly what’s been happening with a lot of moviegoers, especially in multiplexes. Certain multiplexes are notorious for running 15-20 minutes of advertisements before the movie and often do not start the show on time as mentioned on the ticket.

While many people often turn a blind eye against it, one person decided enough is enough and moved legally. The individual in question is Hyderabad-based RTI activist Vijay Gopal who took legal action against multiplex Inox Kachiguda in Hyderabad. The authorities found the multiplex guilty under Unfair Trade & Deficiency of Service.

The whole issue started back in June 2019 when Vija went to watch ‘Game Over’ film in Inox Kachiguda. The movie started at 4:45 instead of 4:30 as mentioned on the ticket. After speaking to the manager, Vijay moved to the consumer forum.

The theater managed in a reply to the complaint said that it had a right to place advertisements under Article 19 (1) (A).

The consumer forum ordered Inox Kachiguda to pay a fine of Rs 1 lakh and also award Rs 10,000/- to the activist as compensation.

Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam pre-release event to be the first of its kind!

Prabhas and Pooja Hegde’s Radhe Shyam is all set for a grand release on January 14th. The film is one of the most awaited pan-India projects from Tollywood and will compete directly with another biggie RRR and Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak.

The makers of the film are planning to ramp up the promotions in the coming days. Already a couple of singles and teasers that have been released have received a positive response. Now the makers are gearing up to release the much-awaited trailer of the film.

The trailer of the film will be released at the grand pre-release event. The event will be held on 23rd December at Ramoji Film City. The event will be the first of its kind and will be a national-level event with representation from all across India. The most special thing about the event is that the trailer launch will be done by the fans. This will be the first time such an occurrence would be taking place in Indian film history.

Radha Krishna is directing this film while Justin Prabhakaran has composed music for the Telugu version while Mithoon and Amaal Malik and Manan Bharadwaj have composed music for Hindi. Some songs of the movie are catered especially to Bollywood audiences while some others are for South Indian audiences.

Pushpa team decides to remove that controversial scene from the film

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa has got off to a resounding start at the box- office. Despite the mixed reviews, the film has been performing pretty strong across the regions and has given sensational day 1 figure. Amidst this day one euphoria, the makers have now decided to delete one particular scene from tomorrow.

The scene in question is the van scene between Allu Arjun and Rashmika. This hot and romantic scene between the lead pair will be removed from the film from Sunday onwards. The van scene reportedly made many family audiences uncomfortable with it.

Meanwhile, Pushpa is continuing its terrific run on day 2 as well. The film has already stood as Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s 2nd best film in terms of US Premiere collections.

Domestically as well this action entertainer created many records on day one. It has created All-Time Record in Nizam beating the previous best Saaho. The movie performed well in Andhra, but due to regulated prices and shows, it just attained decent revenue.

Karan Johar And Salman Khan To Host RRR Event

The RRR team has roped in Karan Johar and Salman Khan for their grand event in Mumbai. The makers have approached Karan Johar to host the event and Salman Khan will be the chief guest for the event.

The makers of RRR have been amping up their promotions ever since the trailer of RRR was released. The actors have done press meets in all the major Indian cities, promoting the film. They took a break in promotions due to the release of Pushpa, and are now back, bigger than ever.

The team has lined up a grand event at Mumbai Film City with Karan Johar hosting the proceedings. Karan Johar is also reportedly going to be shooting a special segment of FilteRRR coffee with Karan. Salman Khan will be attending the event as a special guest.

The streaming rights for the event have been acquired by the top television channel Star Plus. The event is likely to release on the eve of New Year.

RRR is all set for a grand theatrical release on 7th January. The film stars Ram Charab, Jr.NTR, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn in prominent roles. SS Rajamouli has directed the film. DVV Dannaya has produced the film under DVV Entertainments.

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa (Telugu) Day 1 collections estimate

Icon Star Allu Arjun’s Pushpa has got off to a strong start. The film registered great occupancies and solid night show bookings and is all set for a strong day 1 show at the box office.

As per indications, Pushpa: The Rise is all set to collect Rs 11-12 crores in the Andhra region. In the Ceeded region, Pushpa can record anywhere between Rs 5-6 crores, and in Nizam, it is most probably set to hit the Rs 10-11 crore mark. Overall Allu Arjun’s Pushpa is expected to hit around Rs 28 crore mark on the opening day which is a superb feat.

These are just the indicators and we will post the exact collection figures tomorrow.

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa USA Premieres gets a decent number

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa was released amidst great fanfare and celebrations today. The action entertainer directed by Sukumar has been under a lot of scrutinies and rushed to release in the last moment. With some pending works on the film still in balance towards the end, there were shadows of doubt cast over the USA premieres. Sukumar and team however managed to get the release on time on 17th December.

The film collected a total of $530 k from 260 locations. This is a good show of numbers despite the cancellation across multiple locations. Allu Arjun’s Pushpa premieres now stand as his second-best premiere after Ala Vaikunthapurramulo. The 2020 Trivikram directorial collected a solid $ 816 K from the US premieres. Similarly, Pushpa is also Sukumar’s 2nd best show in this department. His earlier best was Rangasthalam which collected $725 K.

Pushpa: The Rise needs to collect $2.6 million for breakeven and the opening has been positive. It needs to be seen if the film despite its mixed reviews manages to march on towards the breakeven figure. Allu Arjun’s performance has been heavily appreciated by the critics and audience and stood as the highlight of the film.

Nani and Siva Karthikeyan teaming up for a multi-starrer?

Nani is busy in promoting his pan India movie Shyam Singha Roy. Today, he participated in the Tamil trailer launch of the movie and has stated some interesting things there while addressing press.

Naan E (Eega movie in Tamil) was the first movie of Nani in Tamil. He got accolades for this movie there and Nani said that he has been planning to do a Tamil movie since then. Finally, he has a script that will be accepted by Tamil audience and hence he is releasing his film there. While addressing the press, he also stated that he wants to do a movie with Mani Ratnam sir as he is his favorite director. Along with that he stated that he wants to do a multi starrer with Siva Karthikeyan and praised him a lot. Does this mean, are there any talks going on regarding these two?

If the answer is yes, then it would be nothing less than eye feast for the audience in two states.

We are going to see Nani in dual role in Shyam Singha Roy and the movie got huge hype overall. Sai Pallavi, Krithi Shetty and Madonna Sebastian are the female leads in this movie.
