AP Government Putting A Fullstop To Ticket Prices Issues

The ticket rates issue in Andhra Pradesh has been going on for months now. Despite best efforts from various prominent members of the Telugu industry, AP CM Jagan has been hellbent on not lowering ticket rates. The AP government has made a lot of impact in the Telugu industry with the new Government Order GO 35.

A lot of prominent figures from the Telugu Film Industry also met with Perni Nani to discuss a solution to this problem but there had been no improvements.

A few days ago, Chiranjeevi met YS Jagan and had a thorough discussion regarding the ticket rates. Chiranjeevi said that the industry is okay with government control on the ticket rates but requested to revise the current government order with reasonable prices.

Chiranjeevi has given a list of prices to the government. Jagan is considering this list and is planning to issue a new statement within one week. Jagan is going to consider the new rates based on area and theatre location.

This will be a major boost for the Telugu film industry. This Summer season is also packed with a massive lineup of biggies and if ticket rates are increased, it will be a festival.

Vishal’s Saamanyudu 1st weekend Box office collections

Vishal’s Saamanyudu released earlier this week amidst mixed talk. Saamanyudu featured Dimple Hayathi as the female lead while Yogi Babu and Babu Raj featured in key roles. The film did a theatrical business of Rs 4.5 crores plus in Telugu states. So far, over the weekend, the film has collected just Rs 1.2 crores share and the recovery chances look quite slim.

The buyers are expected to lose around 50% as the film is headed towards a disaster status.  P Saravananhas directed this film while Vishal has produced this action thriller under Vishal Film Factory.

Saamanyudu follows the story of a common man who dreams of joining the police force. He stumbles across a series of murders and how he investigates them forms the rest of the story. The film failed to impress the audience and set the box office on fire. However, Yuvan Shankar Raga’s BGM and action sequences in the film were well appreciated.

Rana Daggubati’s 1945 Streaming Now On OTT

Rana Daggubati’s patriotic drama 1945 was released in theatres after a tiresome wait of 4+ years. When the first look poster of the film was released, Rana immediately took to Twitter to tell his fans that, 1945 is a half-baked project. When the main lead of the film tells you not to watch his own film, that speaks volumes.

The film was eventually released in theatres on 7th January 2022 and to no one’s surprise, the film opened to disastrous collections at the box office.

1945 is now streaming on OTT on the SUN NXT platform. Apart from Rana, the film boasts of a stellar cast of Regina Cassandra, Sathyaraj, and Nasser. Sathyasiva is the director of the movie and C.K Kalyan has produced the movie.

1945 is set in the pre-independence era of India, where Rana plays a soldier. It is a shame that a promising project went to waste due to various conflicts between Rana and producer C. Kalyan.

Nikhil’s Karthikeya- 2 satellite and OTT deal closed

It is a known fact that Nikhil’s superhit Karthikeya is getting its sequel soon. The 2014 movie turned out to be a sleeper hit and fetched great reviews to Nikhil for his mature performance. The success of the first part has propelled the makers to release the film in multiple languages.

Chandoo Mondeti who directed the original will be handling Karthikeya 2. The interest among the trade circles has been quite high and the OTT and satellite deals have already been closed. Zee Studios have bagged both the rights for Rs 16 crores which is a great start to the film.

Karthikeya 2 will see Anupama Parameswaran joining the cast while Nikhil and Swati will continue their original roles. Kaala Bhairava is composing the music for this supernatural thriller. Interestingly, Nikhil and Anupama Parameswaran will be seen together in ’18 Pages’ as well.

Just a few weeks ago, the news was finally confirmed that Mahesh and Rajamouli will officially be collaborating for a film. Coming to the script of the movie, it is an action drama with an African background. Major portions of the film will be shot in the jungles of Africa. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be confirmed.

No celebrations for Allu Arjun’s blockbuster Pushpa?

Scoring a massive success in today’s age is a rare feat. It is even rarer to see a film crossing 50 days theatrical run. When a star hero’s film achieves such a feat, the fans usually celebrate such an event in a grand manner with special screenings and festivities at theatres. This happened with Balakrishna’s recent superhit Akhanda. However, the same was missing in the case of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa.

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa may not have been a huge success in Telugu, but the film did a terrific job in other languages. It exceeded expectations at the box office in other languages.

The film has hit the Rs 100 crore net mark in Hindi. Similarly, it has crossed Rs 30 crores gross in Tamil. Pushpa is also a roaring success in Kerala having grossed the Rs 10 crores mark.

Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak has been embroiled in controversies ever since the announcement of the film. First, there were questions raised over Pawan Kalyan’s habit of remaking past hits, then there were multiple clashes with biggies due to release dates.

Bheemla Nayak was originally planned to release on the occasion of Sankranthi but was postponed due to RRR and Radhe Shyam. Now, the makers have announced either February 25th or April 1st as the release dates for the movie. The film is almost nearing its completion and post-production work is expected to be finished by 15th February.

The inside talk of the movie has been super positive and Pawan Kalyan has also been flattered by the final output. It has been a long while since we have seen Pawan Kalyan’s mass avatar. The trade and audiences are eagerly waiting and are confident in the success of the film.

The distributors are also ready to give whatever price the producer has quoted without any negotiations. In fact, there is a higher possibility that the rates may increase if the AP government allows for ticket hikes. The Andhra Business has been quoted at a massive 40 crores, Nizam at 30 crores, and Ceeded at 15 crores.

The makers of the film are waiting for 100% occupancy in theatres. If occupancy restrictions and night curfew are lifted, the film is all set to release on February 25th, giving it a massive advantage. There will be no competition for the film in the Telugu states.

The overall worldwide business of the film will be around 100 crores, which is a table profit for the producers. With OTT, satellite, and dubbing rights, the makers can fetch a minimum of 50 crores at least.

Kollywood star Ajith’s much-awaited action thriller Valimai is all set to release on 24th February. The action-thriller will feature Ajith in a cop role after a long time. Valimai is one of the most eagerly awaited Tamil biggies and fans’ anticipation is at an all-time high.
