Distributors, Theatre owners not interested to screen Mohan Babu Film

Mohan Babu starrer Son of India is all set to release this weekend. While the entire Manchu family has pinned high expectations on this film, there is absolutely zero interest among the trade circles for this film. Distributors and exhibitors are not at all interested in screening this film.

The film will have its own release in all territories and even theatres. Despite all this, the audience have also shown nil interest in this film. The advance bookings of this film are disastrous, to say the least with many shows selling tickets in single digits.

Mohan Babu himself has written the screenplay of Son of India. The film also stars Pragya Jaiswal, Srikanth, Tanikella Bharani, Ali. Diamond Ratna Babu has directed this film while Maestro Ilaiyaraja has composed the music. Interestingly, Megastar Chiranjeevi has given voice-over for this project. Gehraiyaan review – A fairly engaging and intense urban romantic drama that could work with the target audience

Story: Alisha (Deepika Padukone) and Karan (Dhairya Karwa) are in a live-in relationship and after many years they meet Alisha’s cousin Tia (Ananya Panday) and her ultra-rich boyfriend Zain (Siddhant Chaturvedi). The two couples go on a trip to Alibaug and there, certain unexpected developments take place and slowly their hormones start getting the better of Tia and Zain. What trouble did this lead to and how did they come through it forms the rest of the story.

Performances: Deepika Padukone deserves major credit in this film. She plays a complex role and her character undergoes so much trauma that it feels scary to even think of her situation. She played this role in a genuinely impressive way. After Deepika, it’s Siddhant Chaturvedi who leaves a strong mark. His character is supposed to not evoke any kind of sympathy from us and his performance has ensured that it was achieved. Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor shine in small yet important roles. Ananya Pandey was decent and definitely didn’t give a chance to be written off. Dhairya Karwa did his bit.

Analysis: On paper, Gehraiyaan definitely feels like a strong idea with so many themes touched and many multilayered characters in play. While translating the idea into a film, Shakun Batra has definitely succeeded to an extent. One main reason why the film stood strong from the start is because of the way the mood is built and the atmosphere is created. The main credit goes to the cinematography for this. Music too complimented the film and the ‘Doobey’ song is icing on the cake. The film is all pleasant at first and begins like a typical urban romantic drama and slowly transcends into darker areas. The tone and intensity are well maintained amidst all this and because of that, the last 30-40 minutes work really well in the film when it’s slowly turning into some kind of a crime drama or romantic thriller. All said, there are still some issues with the film like the plot holes, dragged portions in a couple of areas, mediocre dialogues and the limited appeal of the overall film but the curiosity factor in the film mostly helped the film in overcoming these hiccups. The ending is a surprise and gives rise to many questions.

Bheemla Nayak pre-release event details

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati’s Bheemla Nayak is all set to release worldwide on February 25th. The film has seen its share of delays like every other Tollywood biggie and now that the release is less than 10 days away, fans’ excitement is at its peaks.

Bheemla Nayak makers confirmed the release date yesterday erasing all speculations of another delay. Meanwhile, the pre-release event is scheduled to happen on 21st February at Yousufguda Police Grounds in Hyderabad. According to reports, the trailer will be launched at the event itself.

The makers are planning to release the next single ‘Bheem Bheem’ featuring Pawan Kalyan. Bheemla Nayak was earlier scheduled to release for Sankranti but had to postpone its release.

Meanwhile, the film’s unit is confident of its performance. Pawan and Trivikram have taken utmost care to ensure the movie is loaded with a number of whistle-worthy moments. The run time has also been shortened considerably from the original to keep the screenplay gripping and tight.

Disney+Hotstar Releases:

83 Movie – A grand spectacle that fizzed at the box office due to various reasons. 83 retells the tale of India’s historic 1983 World Cup victory, helmed by Kapi Dev. Watch it on 18th February on Disney+Hotstar.

Meppadiyan – A Malayalam language suspense drama that received critical acclaim. It stars Unni Mukundan in the lead role. It is streaming on Disney+Hotstar from 18th February.

Bestseller – Bestseller is a mini thriller series that stars Shruthi Haasan and Mithun Chakroborty in lead roles. It revolves around a fan who is obsessed with an author. What happens when she finally meets her, and the consequences around it form the rest of the story.

ZEE5 Releases:

Bangarraju – An average venture in theatres, Bangarraju is finally releasing on ZEE5 from 18th February.

Drishya 2 – A Kannada language remake of Drishyam 2, Drishya 2 will also stream on OTT from 18th February.

Vilangu – A Tamil language crime comedy series, that revolves around a mysterious case. An honest cop has to step up and solve the case before time runs out. It is streaming from 18th February.

Mithya – A Hindi language thriller that stars Huma Qureshi and Avantika in lead roles. It tells the story of two women who are at odds with each other over a plagiarism case. It is also streaming from February 18th on ZEE5.

Sony Liv Releases:

Enemy – Enemy is a Tamil language action drama that stars Vishal and Arya in prominent roles. When two friends reunite after a long time, a shocking fact is revealed which alters their future. It is streaming from February 18th on Sony Liv.

Homecoming – Homecoming is a Hindi language musical drama that stars Sayani Gupta in the lead role. It is also streaming from February 18th.

Aha Tamil Releases:

Irai – A Tamil web series that stars Tamil legendary actor Sarathkumar in the lead role. The teaser of the film looks promising. It is streaming from 18th February.

Anasuya in Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film?

Anchor Anasuya is fast climbing up the ranks in Bollywood. After playing significant roles in Sukumar’s Rangasthalam and Pushpa, she has now bagged another Tollywood biggie. She will be seen in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar.

The movie is a remake of Ajith’s 2015 superhit Vedalam. Meher Ramesh will direct Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar and Mahati Swara Sagar will compose the tunes. This is the first time that the actor-director duo is collaborating on a film. Meher Ramesh will return to direction after 8 years.

Anasuya was recently seen in Ravi Teja’s Khiladi and will be seen in Gopichand’s Pakka Commercial. While the exact details of Anasuya’s role is still unknown, the official details will be out very soon. Bhola Shankar shoot has already started and Keerthy Suresh will play Chiranjeevi’s sister role in this project.

Starting from Acharya to Lucifer, there are so many interesting projects under his hood and the audience can’t be thrilled enough. Tamannah will play the lead role opposite Chiranjeevi in this action entertainer. The movie is bankrolled by Anil Sunkara under AKEnts banner.

RRR makers expecting 200Cr business from Telugu states

RRR makers are confident of a solid show in Telugu states. With occupancy restrictions in theatres being lifted and night curfew in AP coming to an end, the entire unit is confident of Rs 200 crores business from the Telugu states alone.

Adding to this, a new G.O on the ticket prices will be issued by this month-end and it will be quite advantageous for RRR. Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Rajamouli, Koratala Siva, and a few others met the YS Jaganmohan Reddy last week in Amaravati. The meeting was a resounding success and this is why RRR makers are confident of a good show.

Apart from the promise of a new G.O. Jagan also shared some great news. The Chief Minister has offered certain concessions for the TFI. He stated that films that have a budget of Rs 100 crores and above will be allowed special hikes. Similarly, even pan-India films will be extended the same benefits. The Rs 100 crores budget would have to exclude hero, heroine, and director remunerations, the CM clarified.

Seeing situations turning better the entire RRR unit is now confident that they will put up a strong show at the box office.

Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam Valentine glimpse registers shocking numbers

Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam is one of the most anticipated pan-India movies at the moment. The movie is all set to hit the screens worldwide on March 11th. On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, the makers released a ‘Radhe Shyam Valentine’s glimpse. The short 33-second long teaser was released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

Despite so much buzz around the film and an impressive star cast, the glimpse has registered shockingly low numbers across all languages. As expected, the Telugu version got the highest views of the five versions with 2.8 million views so far. The Hindi version stands next with 1.5 million views while Tamil -157 K, Malayalam -114 K, and Kannada 67 K round up the rest.

The glimpse captures a whole new angle of Prabhas capturing the fun side of the actor. For a pan India film with a star like Prabhas, these numbers are indeed a disappointing show. However, the fans and makers are confident of solid opening numbers on March 11th.

Radha Krishna has directed Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam while UV Creations and T Series have jointly produced the film. Justin Prabhakaran is the music director of the film, and Thaman S has scored the background music of the film.

Manchu Vishnu claims foul play behind Mohan Babu not being invited

MAA President Manchu Vishnu has made sensational comments regarding the recent meeting of Tollywood top heroes with AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy. The ‘Mosagallu’ actor has claimed that even his father Mohan Babu was sent an invite but it didn’t reach him.

He went on to add that he knows who exactly is behind this conspiracy. Manchu Vishnu added that despite such foul play he will continue to work for the betterment of Tollywood. He was elected as MAA President in October last year and had made multiple statements about working towards the betterment of Tollywood.

However, despite making tall promises, the actor didn’t make a single statement on the ticket pricing issue. Now right after Chiranjeevi, along with Mahesh, Prabhas, and Rajamouli along with others met AP CM, the MAA President also jumped into action.

He met YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday and shared the same on Twitter.

Kollywood Star Vijay’s ‘Arabic Kuthu’ has established a new South Indian record. This lyrical song from his upcoming movie beast has recorded a whopping 25 million + views in just 24 hours making it the most viewed song from South. Arabic Kuthu has now beaten the record of Sarkaru Vaari Paata’s Kalaavathi which brought up 16 million + views in 24 hours. Incidentally, Kalaavathi released just one day before the Vijay song.

The makers of both these movies updated the fans and followers of their massive records. Kalaavathi is a melodious romantic number featuring Mahesh and Keerthy Suresh with soothing visuals.
