Kuberaa Day 1 Box Office: Biggest For Dhanush and Nagarjuna

0

Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa did not carry many advances, and the trade expected a slow start for the film. The early shows of the film opened with unanimous positive reviews, which resulted in Kuberaa’s Day 1 box office being the biggest for Dhanush and Nagarjuna.

The film took a massive jump with each passing show. In Telugu states, the second shows registered house fulls in most of the theaters, which suggests an excellent trend. The best thing for the movie is the positive talk from audiences, except for a few complaints about the climax.

Kuberaa Box Office Off to a Solid Start

Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa Day 1 Box Office emerges as the biggest for Dhanush and Nagarjuna, and as per early trends, the film will open with more than 25 Cr gross worldwide, which is also the biggest career start for Kammula.

Trade expects a Solid Weekend for Kuberaa

The Day 2 advances are trending better than the opening day in all centers, and the trade expects a big weekend for the film. Kuberaa needs to collect more than 120 Cr gross worldwide for breakeven, and it is expected to achieve 60% of that in the first weekend itself.

Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa Climax – How a Sequel Announcement Could Have Made It Iconic

0

Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa opens with unanimous positive reviews, and the film’s collections are increasing show by show. The film’s climax received mixed responses, and a sequel announcement could result in an iconic climax for Kuberaa.

The viewers liked the film very much and praised Dhanush and Nagarjuna’s performance and emotional scenes, but most of the audience’ complaint is that the entire film was so good, but the climax felt like an abrupt ending.

If we observe the final parts of Kuberaa, there is certainly sequel potential, as the film had that natural cliffhanger: Dhanush [Deva] finds that he has 10K crores in his account, and he has a big vision to donate that amount and provide basic needs to beggars.

So, if Kammula had ended the film by announcing the sequel instead of wrapping it up directly, it could have had a good impact. Because Deva’s character needs to understand the big ecosystem to get the 10K crores and fulfill his vision.

Definitely there will be challenges in his attempt, so all these are perfectly fit for a commercial film. That is why everyone feels that a sequel announcement could result in an iconic climax for Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa.

Had the film ended with a cliffhanger, the audiences would not have an abrupt feeling. Nowadays, many films are forcefully setting up a lead to a sequel to cash in on the sequel craze, but Kuberaa, which genuinely had the potential for a sequel, did not use it.

We need to wait and see whether the makers of the team can think of a part 2 for Kuberaa.

Nani Faces Legal Trouble from His Own Fan

0

Natural Star’s recent release, HIT-3, became a superhit at the box office and received a mixed response on OTT. While the fans await the details of his next, Nani faces legal trouble from his own fan.

A Nani fan named Vimala Velan filed a case at the Madras High Court against the actor and 5 others. She claims that the main story of HIT 3 was copied from her registered scripts, Agent 11 (2021) and Agent V (2022).

As said above, the fans are eagerly awaiting the progress of Natural Star’s upcoming film, The Paradise. However, as Nani faces legal trouble from his own fan for HIT 3, it has become a discussion point on social media.

Writer Vimal Soni filed the complaint, stating that HIT 3 borrows heavily from her registered scripts, Agent 11 and Agent V. She has submitted her original drafts to the court as evidence.

Sailesh Kolanu has encountered similar claims before. During Saindhav’s release, similar allegations appeared against him. As HIT 3 enters legal battles, its makers must protect their work in court to prove their innocence.

Prime Video Slashes Deal Price for Hari Hara Veera Mallu

0

Hari Hara Veera Mallu—Part 1: Sword vs. Spirit, the much-delayed film of Pawan Kalyan, is going through a rough patch to have a smooth theatrical release. The OTT giant, Prime Video, slashes the deal price for Hari Hara Veera Mallu.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu’s Multiple Postponements result in the reduction of Prime Video’s Deal Price

The digital rights of this big-budget film were bagged by Prime Video long ago, and the price is said to be 75 Cr, but due to multiple postponements, the 10 Cr amount is said to have been reduced from the original amount due to changed agreements.

The film’s makers recently announced the postponement of the film from 12th June, and since then, there has been no official update from them. The fans are worried as they have learned that Prime Video slashed the deal price for Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu.

The new release date of HHVM has not been decided yet, and the producers announced recently that there will be an official announcement tomorrow at 7:23 AM.

Reportedly, AM Ratnam and the team have gone through multiple discussions with Prime Video for locking a new release date, but the OTT giant is said to have reduced the amount again to between 5 and 10 Cr, which is not okay with producers.

This is the reason for the new release date of the film not being announced, and we should wait and see what announcement will come from the makers tomorrow.

Sitaare Zameen Par Review: Good But Not Great

0

Movie Name: Sitaare Zameen Par
Rating: 3/5
Cast:
Aamir Khan, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar
Director: R.S. Prasanna
Produced By:
Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit
Release Date: 620h June 2025

Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par is a sports drama and serves as the spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen Par. This film marks the first theatrical release of the Dangal actor since Lal Singh Chadda (2022). Let’s see if the film met the expectations or not.

Story:

The film is about Gulshan Arora, an arrogant basketball coach played by Aamir Khan, who faces suspension for attacking the head coach and the potential jail time for DUI. He receives a sentence of community service, training a team of athletes with intellectual disabilities for a national basketball competition. While coaching, he experiences personal growth and gains valuable insights.

Performances:

Aamir Khan acts as an outspoken and insensitive coach. He convincingly portrays the character, but a few moments of his acting seem redundant. As Gulshan’s wife, Genelia Deshmukh is earnest, but her character seems one-dimensional.

The group of actors—Ashish Pendse, Aroush Datta, Aayush Bhansali, Rishi Shahani, GopiKrishnan K Verma, Rishabh Jain, Vedant Sharma, Simran Mangeshkar, Samvit Desai, and Naman Misra—adds the right vibe and realness to the movie. Dolly Ahluwalia Tewari, Bijendra Kala, and Gurpal Singh provide good support.

Analysis:

Sitaare Zameen Par, an official remake of the 2018 Spanish film Champions, indirectly follows 2007’s Taare Zameen Par. While the original focused on dyslexia and remedial education, this version centers on people with intellectual disabilities like Down Syndrome and autism in a basketball setting.

R.S. Prasanna, the director of Sitaare Zameen Par tries to strike a commendable balance between delivering a message and educating viewers about ID, all with a lighthearted touch.

The initial part is funny and gradually finds its pace. Though the narration seems straightforward, the film gathers some strength before intermission.

The second half features more enjoyable and engaging moments, with several standout scenes. However, the film lacks the needed depth and does not provide any solid emotional punch.

A few subplots, such as the relationship between the hero’s mother and the butler, plus a player’s backstory, offer minimal contribution to the core narrative. Certain sequences feel prolonged, hindering pacing.

The climax is good, butit feels too sentimental at times. Some moments, like the team arranging airfare and accommodations for the last game, appear both convenient and unoriginal.

Positives:

  • Performances
  • Humorous Scenes
  • Second Half

Negatives:

  • Boring Parts in the First Half
  • Lack of Solid Drama
  • A Few Unnecessary Scenes/Subplots

Sitaare Zameen Par Movie Review and Verdict:

R Prasanna and Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par is a standard sports drama. Though the film offers good performances and lighthearted moments, it fails to evoke the intended emotional response.

8 Vasantalu Movie Review: Honest Attempt results in a half-hearted output

0

Movie Name:  8 Vasantalu
Rating: 2.5/5
Cast:
Ananthika Sanilkumar, Ravi Duggirala, Hanu Reddy, Kanna Pasunoori, and others
Director: Phanindra Narsetti
Produced By:
Mythri Movie Makers
Release Date: 20th June 2025

Today marks the release of 8 Vasantalu, an emotional love story. Phanindra Narsetti directs the movie, starring Ananthika Sanilkumar, Ravi Duggirala, Hanu Reddy, and Kanna Pasunoori in lead roles.

The film’s teaser, songs, and trailer showed that the director’s style is poetic, and it is not a conventional love story or movie. Let us check how director Phaneendra Narsetti crafted 8 Vasantalu in our review.

Story:

Suddhi Ayodhya, a 17-year-old girl, lives in Ooty. She’s a martial arts champion, a budding author, and a free spirit. Her life shifts after Karthik’s arrival. The rest of the film is a journey of eight years that delves into love, heartbreak, self-discovery, and growth of Suddhi.

Performances:

Ananthika Sanilkumar shines in the lead role. She leaves a powerful impression with her elegance and charm. Hanu Reddy fits his role well, and his chemistry with Ananthika seems authentic, enhancing the first half, particularly near the interval. Kanna Pasunoori shines, though his character takes a back seat.

Ravi duggirala delivers a settled act and shines in the climax portions. Others are okay.

Analysis:

Phanindra Narsetti directs 8 Vasantalu. He tries to add a unique touch and artistic vision to the storytelling. However, the execution appears indulgent and does not land effectively. A few dialogues and music help the lead pair make the first half work, but it’s not exceptional.

The interval episode impresses and heightens expectations for the second half. But the next love track feels weak and lacks impact. Suddhi’s character displays a strong impact early on, but her decisions after a heartbreak are inconsistent.

Seeing her quickly fall in love with someone new after everything she’s been through shocks one, and when she easily accepts her mom’s decision to marry someone else, it makes it tough to empathize with her.

The climax doesn’t hit hard because there’s too much dialogue, and the way they reveal the second lead’s backstory in a letter feels preachy and dragged.

The conflict between Kanna Pasunoori and his father had the potential to symbolize relatable youth issues, but the director leaves it as a half-baked track without a proper closure.

Positives:

  • A Few Scenes in the First Half’s Love Track
  • Interval Episode
  • Visuals/Music

Negatives:

  • Preachy/Overwheleming Dialogues
  • Second Half
  • Climax

8 Vasantalu Movie Review and Verdict:

Phanindra Narsetti’s 8 Vasantalu could have been a great journey of 8 years in a woman’s life, but the poor narration, ineffective second half, and overly poetic dialogues limit its impact. Anathika’s performance and a few likable moments work for the film.

Kuberaa Movie Review: A Well-Made Social Drama

0

Movie Name:
Rating: 3.25/5
Cast:
Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Sunaina, Jim Sarb, Dalip Tahil and others
Director: Sekhar Kammula
Produced By:
Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao
Release Date: 20th June 2025

Dhanush returns to the silver screen with ‘Kuberaa’. The film is a multilingual social thriller/crime drama. Nagarjuna Akkineni and Rashmika Mandanna also star in it. Shekhar Kammula is the director of the movie. ‘Kuberaa’ delves into morality surrounding wealth and power.

The film’s trailer and songs gave a clear picture that it is a very different movie. The music also sounded different from Devi Sri Prasad’s Style, and his theme for the film and the latest song, Kodukaa, received excellent response. Let us check how Sekhar Kammula has shaped up Kuberaa in our review.

Story:

Kuberaa delves into the struggle of the ultra-wealthy against the poor. The narrative centers on Deepak (Nagarjuna), a CBI officer who devises a major scandal involving beggars. The story shows Deva (Dhanush), a beggar who outsmarts the powerful.

Performances:

Dhanush’s performance feels authentic. His portrayal of the character is flawless and outstanding. Nagarjuna maintains exceptional poise. He conveys subtlety through his expressions, dialogue, and body language, complemented by appropriate styling.

Rashmika Mandanna is fine in her role, yet her character doesn’t stand out like those in Sekhar Kammula’s films. Jim Sarbh excels as a greedy, wealthy businessman. His casting is perfect, fitting perfectly into the film’s corporate setting. Sayaji Shinde, Dalip Tahil, and Sunaina perform well in their brief roles.

Analysis:

Sekhar Kammula directs Kuberaa, stepping away from his usual feel-good films. The film begins with a captivating premise: a ₹1 lakh crore scam and wealthy entrepreneurs seeking Benamis.

At first glance, the scenes look simple; however; they reveal emotional depth through the beggars’ lives, Dhanush’s character background, and how they navigate corporate challenges and threats.

Kammula skips specifics of the financial fraud and company framing, still maintains audience interest through the scam’s nature and beggar characters’ emotions.

Before the pre-interval episode, the impact lessens, yet the action at the intermission revives the emotion. Kuberaa’s latter part reveals how Deva, a beggar, faces danger, learns the truth about his life, and battles back with help from a girl.

A few parts slow down, still the core tension engages. The scenes involving a pregnant beggar girl are impactful, and the song Poyiraa Mama, also stands out.

The Main and big episode comes at the pre-climax, where the changeover of Nagarjuna’s role and the bond with Dhanush’s character works superbly. The idea of the climax, a roadside beggar bringing down the richest person, is good, but it is rushed and just misses the intended effect

Positives:

  • Main Story
  • Dhanush and Nagarjuna’s Performance
  • Impressive Writing/Screenplay
  • Emotional Parts
  • DSP’s Background Score

Negatives:

  • Dull Scenes here and there
  • Logical Flaws
  • Abrupt Feel at the Climax

Kuberaa Movie Review and Verdict:

Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa is a well-made social drama with a fresh backdrop. Dhanush and Nagarjuna’s performance, solid writing and emotions work properly for the film and though the film lags at places and the climax is weak, it makes up for a good watch.

Blockbuster Malayalam Director to Direct Suriya

0

Tamil Star Hero Suriya recently started a new film with Telugu director Venky Atluri. The actor faced two back-to-back failures, Kanguva and Retro. Now, the latest news is that a blockbuster Malayalam director will direct Suriya in an upcoming film.

Suriya’s 45th film, directed by RJ Balaji, has almost completed shooting. As said above, the Ghajini actor signed his next with Venky Atluri, which is expected to complete the shoot by this year.

According to the plan, Suriya should have immediately started Vetrimaaran’s VaadiVaasal. However, the film was dropped, and the director has already started a film with Simbu, which will be a part of the Vada Chennai franchise.

Suriya to work with Aavesham Director Jithu Madhavan

As of now, the actor is in discussions with multiple directors for the upcoming films, and reportedly, a blockbuster Malayalam director will direct Suriya in an upcoming film. Most probably after Venky Atluri’s film, Suriya will join hands with Jithu Madhavan.

Jithu directed crazy films like Romancham and Aavesham. Both films are sensational blockbusters at the box office. Kalaipuli S. Thanu, the producer who was supposed to make Vaadivaasal with Suriya, will be producing this movie.

Disastrous Advance Bookings For Sitaare Zameen Par

0

Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par will be available in theatres in a few hours. Unexpectedly, the film is not having good hype and sees disastrous Advance Bookings

Aamir took a big risk by not selling the film’s rights to OTT. The film’s trailer did not work as expected, resulting in weak ticket sales for the film.

Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par: Poor Advance Bookings

The trade circles are in shock as Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par sees disastrous Advance Bookings, and going by the trend, the film will not even open with double-digit which says how miserable the situation is.

Even a Decent word of mouth is not enough for the movie’s buzz, and it needs a sensational talk to turn the tables.

In Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan plays a disgraced basketball coach who trains people with neurodevelopmental differences as community service following a DUI incident.

Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh star in the film, joined by 10 newcomers: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.

Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit.
