Is KGF brand is bigger than Rajamouli for Indian Cinema? Rajamouli who rose to fame with Bahubali throughout the country is looking less with the brand of KGF got. Bahubali the magnum opus of Rajamouli had lots of VFX scenes and it was the costliest film made in Indian Cinema at that time. Whereas KGF was not made on that large scale like Bahubali. But KGF managed to achieve a great household status throughout the country. This has become the KGF brand. There are also reports that KGF might have another sequel.

KGF performed equally well across the country with Telugu and Tamil versions also doing very good. The film carried hype with its trailer at the beginning and achieved great word-of-mouth from the public. What surprised was the Hindi version of KGF also doing very good. Now its sequel has taken a step forward and became a nationwide sensation by getting record views on YouTube with its teaser and trailer. The teaser of KGF Chapter 2 achieved more than 250 Million Views which is an all-time record.

RRR, the next film of Rajamouli after his mighty Bahubali didn’t carry any hype like this and it failed to get a sensational opening in other languages. It is also likely to end up with good numbers in Hindi. RRR opened up with decent numbers in other languages. On the other hand, KGF Chapter 2 is having a terrific demand in other languages be it Hindi, Tamil or Malayalam. The tickets are also selling like hotcakes and in Telugu, the demand will definitely be more. These pre-bookings tell us that the KGF brand is bigger than Rajamouli.

After multiple delays, Varun Tej’s Ghani was released earlier today. The sports drama features Sunil Shetty, Nadiya, Jagapathy Babu, Upendra, and Saiee Manjarekar in key roles.!!

Ghani is said to be the costliest film in Varun Tej’s career and the film features an impressive star cast in the film. Despite this, the film failed to create buzz prior to its release and the film is seeing a disastrous opening at the box office. The noon shows are running to very poor occupancies and advance bookings are disastrous for other shows.

Ghani needs a strong first week to recover the costs. However, looking at the bookings and with Beast and KGF 2 set to release next week, it looks unlikely.

Ghani’s release is sandwiched between mammoths like RRR and KGF 2. This is one of the main reasons for its dull fare. The lack of buzz is probably due to the hype surrounding RRR at the moment. Audiences are not bothered about other films at the moment.

Kiran Korrapati has directed the film while Thaman S has composed the tunes for this boxing-based sports drama.

KGF 2 is a week away from its release and the excitement amongst the audience and positive buzz in trade circles are increasing by the day. The advance bookings are extremely positive and are all set to create records across many territories. Yash is currently busy with promotions and the response to the film has been terrific so far.

The film is set to open big in all languages and is expected to hit Rs 100Cr+ and might even collect Rs 150Cr+ gross worldwide with great hopes on Rs 175Cr+ as well.

The buzz for the movie is quite strong and the trailer has received a terrific response in all languages. It recorded a massive 109+ Million Views from all the languages in just 24 hours on YouTube. This is the highest ever views for an Indian trailer also in 24 hours.

Prashant Neel has shot the film on a much bigger scale than the first installment. This sequel film is going to have some high-octane action sequences and Yash and Sanjay Dutt’s rivalry as per sources is going to be a visual feast for movie lovers.

The film stars Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj, and Srinidhi Shetty among others. Prashant Neel is directing this action thriller and Hombale Films have produced it. After the massive success of the first installment, composer Ravi Basrur will look to repeat the same. KGF 2 is scheduled for a grand release on April 14th in theatres.

RRR is not a blockbuster or a super hit at the box office. The film released amidst great hype and fan fare managed to achieve a positive talk. The film even managed to break records in the first weekend. It even did extremely well till the second weekend but the film started to struggle at the box-office after that. In Andhra Pradesh, many of the exhibitors are worrying about the recovery.

Some of the territories are not even at breakeven stage and exhibitors are hoping for a big jump this weekend. In other languages too, the film is just likely to manage with the breakeven numbers. It’s not a huge blockbuster or a super hit like earlier Rajamouli’s Bahubali 1 and Bahubali 2. RRR is just likely to end with hit status. Well, the star power of both Jr. NTR and Ram Charan helped the film to achieve the present status.

RRR carried great hype but it got affected with the hiked ticket prices and no repeat values. Ticket prices being at great prices is also a major reason for the film under performing in some territories. The hiked ticket prices even affected recent biggie, Radhe Shyam’s run. These indicate that RRR is not a blockbuster or a super hit the box office like Bahubali.

Vijay’s Beast eyeing for an all time record opening

Vijay and Pooja Hegde starrer Beast is eyeing for an all time record opening. The film, directed by Nelson is already ruling the YouTube with it’s trailer crossing 45 Million Views in 5 days. The two singles, Arabic Kuthu and Jolly O Gymkhana have already become chartbusters. The film is all set to release this April 13.

Vijay with his earlier blockbuster Master is looking confident to score another blockbuster with Beast. Beast is made on a large scale which is quite visible from the trailer. It also promises to be a comedy ride with action episodes. With big hype and star power of Vijay there is extraordinary demand for tickets in Tamil Nadu and the pre sales are extraordinary in overseas and Kerala too.

The film is likely to beat Vijay and A R Murugadoss’ Sarkar opening in Tamil Nadu and worldwide too. It will also set a new benchmark. The theatrical business for the film in AP/TS is fixed at 10.5 crores. Vijay’s earlier blockbuster Master made 14.15 crores in AP/TS. However the film’s collection might get affected on Day 2 with KGF 2 releasing on April 14 throughout the country with great hype.

The biggest mistakes Rajamouli did in RRR are not many but a few. One among them was less screen space given for NTR and also less importance to his role. Fans of both heroes who had great hype on the film believed both heroes would have almost equal space and importance. But their opinion got changed after the film’s release. They felt that Rajamouli failed to balance both the heroes.

The main mistake Rajamouli did was not giving enough screen space for NTR’s Bheem role. In terms of both elevations and emotion, compared to Ram charan’s role NTR got less space. His character was only restricted to saving the girl from the Britishers. There is a lot of scope for NTR in the interval scene too but Rajamouli immediately introduces Ram Charan in the interval after NTR’s entry. There was a good balance in the interval scene. But the same balance was missing in the climax scene. There was a separate background score for Ram Charan’s Seetha Rama Raju entry and a lot of space was given to introduce that role with powerful dialogues.

The second point is there is no scope for Bheem’s flashback with the little kid to make emotions more stronger but Rajamouli missed it for Ram Charan’s flashback.

KGF 2 makers requesting AP Govt for ticket hike, Will the GO apply for dubbed movies?

With KGF 2 a week away from its release, the makers are a bit concerned regarding the ticket prices in Telangana. KGF2 is a pan-India release and made on a massive budget. Looking at the massive buzz and craze for this Yash starrer, the distributors have bought the film for record amounts.

However, the AP ticket prices issue has come back to bite this Sandalwood pan India project as well. KGF 2 makers are requesting the AP government for ticket hikes and have quoted that their film justifies the government’s condition for hikes as it is a pan India film and higher than the Rs100Cr budget. However, it needs to be seen if this condition of the AP government applies to dubbing movies.

As per AP government orders, special prices will be allocated for films that have been shot on a budget greater than 100+ crores(excluding hero, heroine, and director remuneration). These films will be considered super high-budget films and will be granted special prices for the first 10 days of release. It is important to note that this applies only if 20% of the film is shot in Andhra Pradesh.

As per this G.O, RRR and Radhe Shyam were given a ticket hike in the state. However, the case of KGF 2 is still unconfirmed and makers are waiting anxiously for a response from the government. If KGF 2 gets the hike then all pan Indian big-budget movies from any industry will apply for the hike. The case has turned quite interesting and we need to wait and watch what resolution comes out of this.
