Swathimuthyam featuring Bellamonda Ganesh was released on Dussera and received decent talk, but still, the film failed to bring the audience to the theaters. They made the movie up on a budget of 7 Crores and thanks to non theatricals it recovered 4 Crores, theatrical wise there were no collections.
So if we look at it, there’s a loss of 3 Crores loss to producer. However, it looks like the producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi still has the confidence in the director and has given another chance to the director by believing that the movie Swathimuthyam was indeed good, but it failed only because of miscast.
Swathimuthyam tells us the story of Balamurali Krishna (Bellamkonda Ganesh) Who is a small-time government employee and is a calm going person. His parents fix his alliance with Bhagya Lakshmi(Varsha Bollamma) and right when the marriage is all set to happen, a surrogacy angle creates a massive rift in the marriage. The rest of the story is as to how the hero sets things right and finally marries the girl of his choice.
Lakshman K Krishna is the director of Swathimuthyam and the reviewers appreciated him for handling the fun moments nicely and making the film an enjoyable ride.
The movie tries to score with situational humor which does work for many parts, and it has a nice message too, but as said above the film failed to impress the film despite having good content.
Swathimuthyam was released in theaters for Dussera and they released it in OTT on Diwali. It had just three weeks gap for its theatrical release and OTT release which made the netizens criticize the film’s Producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi.
