Official: DJ Tillu Sequel postponed to a new date

It’s official, Tillu Square, the sequel to the blockbuster movie DJ Tillu (2022) has postponed its release date. The film which was almost fixed to be released on the Independence Weekend in August now will be released in September. Directed by Mallik Ram, the film stars Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran. Anupama has replaced Neha Shetty in the second installment.

The makers released a new poster of Tillu Square today, confirming the release date. In the first part, which was directed by Vimal Krishna, Siddhu played Tillu, a DJ, whose life gets ruined, and he gets into many problems when his lover Radhika accidentally murders her ex-boyfriend The film was one of the surprise hits of 2022 in Telugu Film Industry.

All these days it was said that the film was planned for Independence weekend release and everyone was eager to witness the competition between Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar, Rajinikanth’s Jailer and Tillu Square. However, now the film has been postponed, and it will be released on 15th September during the Vinayaka Chavithi Festival weekend.

Sai Prakash Ummadisingu has handled the cinematography of Tillu Square while Navin Nooli has looked after the editing of the film. Ram Miryala is the music composer. Tillu Square is produced by Sithara Entertainments in association with Fortune Four Cinemas. The film will be presented by Srikara Studios.

Story: Asur Season 2 starts at the same point where its first part had ended. The search for a brain playing with mythology, philosophy, and technology in killing and washing people’s brains is shown in an almost perfect way. Asur 2 shows the story through the pain that the characters suffer, both in figurative and real sense. This time, the “Asur” Shubh uses artificial intelligence to make his plans work as he plays out the game of Kali vs. Kalki tale derived from the mythology.

Analysis: Asur’s first season was crowned successfully because of the brilliance in writing that transcended not only the genres, but even the patterns by which the narration is made. This special quality made Asur a show which was a unique experience from the other OTT content. Now continuing the same impact is very tough for the writers and creators, but they have done an impressive job in making the Asur Season 2 a riveting drama. Although it is a Crime Thriller on the surface, the show has an ample amount of drama with the inner conflicts and challenges which the team of CBI, led by Dhananjay Rajpoot and Nikhil Nair face in nabbing a demon like Shubh.

As said above, making a successful sequel to a movie or a web series is not that easy. But Asur Season 2 manages to win because of its gripping narrative. The killer and his acts do not differ much from the first part, but this time the effect and methods of him are explored. The counter-attack from the CBI team has more emotional depth in this season because of all the losses they had to suffer. Another interesting character is introduced in this season which is used as a symbol of God, but it does not end as powerful as it was introduced. The incidents and narration follow a similar path from the first part, which is the plus point of this series which also acts negative a few times. With some minor hiccups, the show holds the interest for all the eight episodes and ends with a nice Cliff Hanger.

Performances: Barun Sobti gives an honest and strong performance which makes the audience root for him more than any other character, Riddhi Dogra, Anupriya Goenka and Meiyamg Chang were natural while Arshad Warsi looked simple yet powerful.

Verdict: Asur Season 2 impresses with its good narration and more emotional depth than the first season, but it falters in a few places because of missing attention to details. However, the series is still a gripping one from the start to end.

Producer officially confirms Balakrishna’s next film

After the success of Veera Simha Reddy and the massy first glimpse of Balakrishna and Anil Ravipudi’s project, there are huge expectations for Balayya’s next film. While Balayya- Anil Ravipudi film is set to release later this year, works on NBK 109 have already started. Producer Naga Vamsi has confirmed the ongoing buzz in the industry circles that have been going on for a while.

The producer took to Twitter and shared a cryptic tweet with just the date ” 10th June”. The date happens to be Balayya’s birthday and some special announcements are expected that day. NBK 109 will be made under Sitara Entertainments and Bobby is directing this project. Looking at the pace with which Bobby– Balakrishna project is shaping up, it looks like his film with Boyapati’s will take some time.

Interestingly, Bobby directed Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya which trounced over Balayya’s Veera Simha Reddy in the Sankranti race earlier this year. With Bobby directing Balayya now, he has now achieved a rare distinction of directing Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna in successive films.

Sequel for Karthi’s blockbuster Paiyaa/Awara is confirmed

If the inside reports are to be believed, Actor Karthi will star in the sequel of Paiyaa, one of the biggest blockbusters in his career. Lingu Swamy who directed the 1st part, has been trying to make the sequel for a long time now, it is said that he has impressed Karthi with the script. The official announcement of this sequel is expected soon. The movie was a blockbuster in both Tamil and Telugu.

Linguswamy’s films Run, Sandaikozhi, Paiyaa were big hits at the office. The filmmaker was once considered as the master of action entertainers, but he faced continuous failures and lost his image. Recently, he made his debut in Tollywood with The Warrior, which had Ram Pothineni in the lead role. The movie became a big failure at the box office. Now after 13 years of the release of Paiyaa, director Linguswamy is all set to make the second part of Paiyaa with a big budget. He also made a sequel to Sandaikozhi, which did not yield positive result.

Paiyaa (2010) starred Karthi and Tamanaah Bhatia. At first, the film became a massive success in Tamil, then it was dubbed into Telugu, and here also the movie performed very well. The film’s music was scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja still continues to impress the listeners.

Whether Paiyaa 2 will be made as a continuation of the first film or it will follow a completely new plot is not yet confirmed. The first part of the film also featured Sonia Deepti, Jagan, Milind Soman, Darshan Jariwala, Jasper, and others, it was produced by Linguswamy’s Tirupati Brothers production company.

The debacle of Akhil Akkineni’s much-hyped Agent has led to massive losses and gloom over the trade circles involved. The film couldn’t justify its massive production budget nor the constant delays which the makers said was a result of them trying to give the best possible output. Post the failure of Agent, there have been questions raised about compensation to the buyers. While some argued that the buyers deserve some, others claim that there is no need to do anything as such.

Meanwhile, there have been continued reports in the media that buyers are demanding compensation from the producer. In reality, they are not demanding any compensation as they paid just half the amount during the buying stage, and as per agreements they need to pay the producer as per the committed amount. Hence they are not entitled to any compensation from the producer.

Agent became a miserable failure at the box office. Even the producer of the film, Anil Sunkara, apologized to the fans for the result of the film by stating it was a big mistake to make a film without a bound script. Hero Akhil Akkineni wrote an open letter to thank his fans and well-wishers for their support and stated he will come back stronger.

Renowned producer and distributor Dil Raju was supposed to release Prabhas’s Adipurush movie in both Nizam and Uttarandhra regions but when the film’s Telugu states rights were moved from UV films to People Media Factory, the whole scenario has been changed it seems. Now it is said that the People Media Factory is quoting enormous prices and because of this reason it looks like Dil Raju has opted out of Prabhas’s Adipurush Distribution as the pricing rates are huge.

According to the reports, the producer is quoting Nizam at 60 Crores and Uttarandhra at 22 Crores. It is very common for big films to have changed in the distribution because of the price negotiations, but Dil Raju being unable to make things turn towards him is the rare case. It may be because of his experience of big movies becoming disasters, Dil Raju has opted out of Prabhas’s Adipurush Distribution.

Meanwhile, a grand pre-release event of Adipurush will take place tomorrow evening in Tirupathi. It is expected that the event will be held on a large-scale and enormous arrangements are being made for the event. Bhola Shankar team in plans to release the teaser

The first song from Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming movie Bhola Shankar was released yesterday by the makers on Sunday. With the tagline Bhola Mania, the first single was released by music director, Devi Sri Prasad. The music composer and singer tweeted that it’s an honour for him to launch the song. “Wishing this song by my dear brother Sagar Mahati to take everyone by storm. Thammudu…Just Do Kummudu,” tweeted Devi Sri Prasad.

After the song, Bhola Mania was out on social media, and it is receiving good response from everyone. The song has good beats, choreography and nice lyrics, and it has all the elements of a pure mass number. Vijay’s Leo is expected to do about 500Cr business

Lokesh Kanagaraj and Vijay’s Leo has made great buzz in the trade circles and among fans ever since it was announced. This excitement went a few levels higher after the title announcement video that featured Vijay in a far-off cabin forging a sword.

Coming to the pre-release business, Leo, with just non-theatrical rights has made Rs 245Cr business as digital, Satellite and audio rights have been sold at record prices. Now, the theatrical business is also fetching at record prices, and Kerala rights have been bought for Rs 16Cr and overseas bought for Rs 60Cr. Tamil Nadu is expected to fetch the makers more than 100Cr while the Telugu states will get more than 20Cr. Around Rs 25Cr business is expected from Karnataka and ROI.

The business may be even higher than these numbers and the movie is expected to do the business near 500Cr mark. Trisha will play the lead opposite Vijay marking the return of this successful combo.
