Adipurush director Om Raut’s negative tweet on Hanuman goes viral in social media

The much awaited film Adipurush, the mythological drama, was released globally yesterday. Directed by Om Raut, this film, which includes Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, premiered in 2D and 3D across various languages such as Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada on June 16th. However, upon its arrival, the film opened to negative response from the audience and critics as well. Though it gathered a good amount of collection at the box office on the first day, the Controversies do not seem to leave this film.

The audience trolled the visual effects, costume/character sketch choices, and objected to the wrong depiction of the mythological characters in the film. Numerous negative reviews have criticized the insertion of what some see as “modern” elements, suggesting that they were completely unnecessary. Like that was not enough, director Om Raut had to delete his old negative tweet on Lord Hanuman.

In the midst of the recent criticism, director Om Raut’s old tweet has gone viral. In 2015, during Hanuman Jayanti the director took to his Twitter account and wrote” Was God Hanuman Deaf? People around my building think so. Playing loud music like “really loud” on Hanuman Jayanti. Plus all irrelevant songs”.

Netizens began to dig out this negative tweet on Hanuman by the director and made it viral by criticizing him. Om Raut deleted the tweet after it went viral. Netizens are saying that Om Raut has no serious devotion to Lord Hanuman or even Ram. He just used the Epic Ramayana for the commercial purposes and nothing more than that.

This week saw the theatrical releases of two massive projects- Adipurush and The Flash. These big-budget films are running in theatres amidst mixed reviews and if you are in the mood for some light-hearted film to watch with your family on OTT, then there’s just the right option available for you. Anni Manchi Sakunamule directed by Nandini Reddy is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The film starring Santosh Sobhan and Malvika Nair was released theatrically on May 18th and was appreciated for some of its emotional content. The film mainly received mixed to poor reviews and failed at the box office. Anni Manchi Sakunamule also stars Rajendra Prasad, Rao Ramesh, Naresh, Gauthami, Shaavukaaru Janaki, and Vennela Kishore in key roles.

Anni Manchi Sakunamule follows the story of Arya (Malavika Nair) and Rishi (Santhosh Shobhan) who are mistakenly exchanged at birth by doctors and the conflict that follows. The film is streaming on OTT in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. Mickey J Meyer composed the music for this project bankrolled under Swapna Cinema.

It is very well known to everyone that renowned Producer and Distributor in the Telugu Film Industry, Dil Raju is often highly regarded for the experience he has and the judgement skills on a film’s content and result. Once again, he proved his mettle by taking a wise decision of getting out of the distribution of the yesterday released mythological drama, Adipurush.

Dil Raju earlier has faced two debacles with top heroes in the form of Agnyathavaasi and Spyder in Nizam region as a distributor. After getting such disastrous results as a distributor, he always bought all his films with utmost care. For the Acharya film also he was out of distribution as the quoted prices were so high, and he escaped from a big debacle by opting out of that film.

At first, Dil Raju was the distributor of Adipurush in Nizam and UA, but at the last-minute people media factory bought the Telugu states rights and quoted very high prices for Nizam. Dil Raju was out of Adipurush distribution as people media factory quoted 60 Crores and Mythri bought for 60 Crores advance where 50 Crores was NRA (Non-Refundable) and the same happened with Uttarandhra area was quoted for well over 20 Crores.

As said above, Dil Raju thought that the prices were very high, and he quit from Adipurush distribution. Now the distributors who have bought Adipurush are in a massive risk with big prices involved and as the film got mixed talk, there are very fewer chances for them to get break even.

Vijay Deverakonda as Family Star in upcoming film

If the inside reports are to be believed, Vijay Deverakonda – Parashuram’s upcoming movie’s title is said to be set as Family Star. It is very well known that Mrunal Thakur is the female lead of the film and Dil Raju is producing this film. The film is in plans for Sankranthi release. Family Star also happens to be the 54th film in the SVC banner.

The film is being made amidst heavy expectations since the director-actor duo delivered a blockbuster like Geetha Govindam the last time they collaborated. Geetha Govindam managed to skyrocket Rashmika’s career, and something similar can happen if this film also gets that talk. While it’s still early days to speculate on the film’s subject, it surely is a massive opportunity for Mrunal Thakur.

Music director DSP signs a Telugu – Tamil bilingual film

Renowned music director Devi Sri Prasad, popularly known as DSP signs a new film. The film is a Telugu – Tamil bilingual film, and it is the 34th film in the career of Tamil Hero Vishal. It should be noted that Devi Sri Prasad has already composed music for Hari’s films including ‘Aaru’, ‘Singam’, ‘Singam 2’, ‘Vengai’ and ‘Sammy 2’.

Priya Bhavani Shankar has been finalized as the Female Lead. Devi Sri Prasad, popularly known as DSP, is likely to score the music for Vishal 34. The unit is planning to start the shoot from July Mid. The shoot location is said to be planned in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

After their 2007 film Thaamirabharani and 2014’s Poojai, actor Vishal and director Hari are uniting with this film. Titled Vishal 34, the film was announced a few months ago with a grand Pooja function. The movie is said to be a mass action entertainer, produced by Karthik Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Films and ZEE Studios.

The movie poster featured a stethoscope with daggers, knives, handcuffs, and firearms. Let’s wish that DSP will provide an energetic album and thumping background score for this action entertainer.

Meanwhile, Vishal, last seen in Laththi, has Mark Antony and his directorial debut Thupparivaalan 2 coming up next. Hari, whose last film was the Arun Vijay starter Yaanai, reportedly has films with Karthi and Suriya in the line-up.

For a few days, every movie goer of the Telugu Film Industry has discussed only one thing, i.e. Adipurush, Prabhas and Om Raut’s mythological drama was released yesterday. The expectations around the movie were sky-high, be it in the Prabhas fans, neutral audience or even the trade circles. So, it was natural that after the movie got a mixed response, trade circles were a bit doubtful about the film’s performance at the box office.

Though the film got excellent numbers overall at the box office, Adipurush opened with average numbers in Andhra Pradesh as it collected a share of around 20 Crores in the state. Considering the big budget and 90 Crores pre-release business, we can say that a 20 Crores share opening is definitely an average number. The distributors have quoted high prices for hires, so the exhibitors took a back step which has affected in openings and also the mixed word of mouth affected the mass openings in the mass stations.

Mahesh Babu and Trivikram’s upcoming Guntur Kaaram’s shooting is getting affected by a series of postponements. At first, the script changes had caused the delay in the filming. Thereafter, the film also cancelled a few schedules of shooting and, according to the reports, another shooting schedule of this big film has been postponed. This has been really frustrating for the Mahesh Babu fans and if the latest reports are to be believed, the film, Guntur Kaaram is likely to get out of Sankranthi race.

With the continuous postponements of shooting schedules, a rumor is now surrounding in the inside circles that the movie may not come for Sankranthi as planned. The movie’s latest shooting schedule has been postponed to July.

Now if they do the regular shooting from July, the movie will likely wrap up the complete shooting until the month of November. But again, if any delay happens once more in the shooting, then it will be hard for the movie to be released on Sankranthi.
