AR Rahman signs Ram Charan’s new film

If the inside reports are to be believed, the renowned music director AR Rahman signed a new film in Telugu, and it is none other than Ram Charan’s upcoming film with director Buchi Babu. It is very well known that Ram Charan has committed to a film with Buchi Babu after completing the Game Changer with Shankar. Reportedly, for a long time, the director of Uppena, Buchi Babu Sana, went to Chennai several times to meet the legendary music director ARR and have him sign his film.

Finally, it is said that the director has succeeded in getting the legendary Oscar-winning composer on board for his next project, which features the global star, Ram Charan. While the movie of Ram Charan and Buchi Babu is not yet officially launched, they have confirmed it a long time ago and the pre-production of the film is almost finished. It is now reported that AR Rahman gave the film a go-ahead after listening to the final narration.

For any director, picking up the right technicians is one of the most important things and it looks like this one-film-old director, Buchi Babu is making sure he gets the best possible team for his film. The inclusion of a legendary composer like AR Rahman for this sports drama which will soon arrive at the sets will definitely raise the anticipation levels.

It is very rare to see AR Rahman working on a Telugu film and netizens are already making comments that he will leave the project as in the past, on some occasions he withdrew from Telugu films at the last minute. His most recent back-out was from Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa, for which he was selected as the music director initially. Let’s hope that the same thing will not happen with the Ram Charan – Buchi Babu’s film, and he will stay until the end, and gives an excellent album which will be loved by the Telugu audiences.

Anand Deverakonda’s Baby has a great buzz thanks to his beautiful songs. The movie is directed by Sai Rajesh, also stars Vaishnavi Chaitanya, and Viraj Ashwin in the lead roles. The trailer of Baby was launched at an event conducted at AAA Cinemas, Hyderabad, this evening and the response was fantastic from the audiences.

The trailer shows Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya as the high school lovers. After that, Vaishnavi Chaitanya joins a college where another guy (Viraj Ashwin) starts loving her. The trailer showed the growing differences between a couple over different stages of their life. Overall, the trailer is filled with drama, emotions and intense dialogues. Especially the final dialogue is being raved by the netizens.

Actress Vaishanvi Chaitanya looked remarkable in the trailer, and her character seems to have two different nuances. Anand Deverakonda and Viraj Ashwin also looked apt in their respective roles. The unit of Baby is super confident about the film’s output and following the latest trend of early shows, they are making arrangements to arrange paid premiers on 13th July, a day before the film’s release date.

Bhaag Saale Movie Review – Makes the audience run away from the theaters

Story: Arjun (Simha Koduri), works as a chef at a hotel, but he wants to become rich at any cost. He pretends to be rich and makes a rich girl, Maya (Neha Solanki) fall in love with him. Samuel (John Vijay) and his aid Jackson (Viva Harsha) are looking for a priceless diamond ring. In the process, Samuel disturbs Arjun, his family and Maya as well. How Arjun resolves all problems and wins Maya is what forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:

The film is made as a crime comedy with a romantic thread thrown into it to create the core conflict between the Hero and Heroine. Although there are many characters present in the film, none of them is worth mentioning, including the lead role. As one can see, nothing is new in the story. What mattered the most was the screenplay, which needed to be engaging. Sadly, that doesn’t happen with Bhaag Saale.

A major issue with the film is it is predictable all the way. Despite eccentric characters being present, there is hardly anything surprising or new. The excitement which should have been in the proceedings was totally absent, and the entertainment also did not work well. The entire villain track looked very silly and irritating.

Performances: Simha Koduri was ok and Neha Solanki was fine. John Vijay and Harsha Chemudu could not impress due to annoying characterization. Sudarshan provided a few laughs while Satya got wasted. Rajeev Kanakala and Varsha were ok.

Verdict:

Overall, Bhaag Saale is a well intended insane comedy that never gets the things right. The film did get a few elements in the right place, but lacked edgy and catchy execution to hold the audiences’ attention. As the title implies, the film makes the audience run away from the theaters.

One of the most illustrious clubs in the Telugu Film Industry is the ‘100 Crore Club’. Many heroes desire to achieve this feat, some have come close, some have tasted its success while some others have become very familiar with it.

Having said that, there are very few heroes who have crossed the 100 crore share mark in Telugu. If the movie receives a decent talk or a ‘HIT’ talk, then it is not a big achievement to reach 100 crores. This is of course true only for star-driven movies.

But there are very few actors who can carry a film on their own shoulders despite the negative talk. And one such actor who has done this quite successfully is Prabhas. Even with disaster talks, not one, but two of his movies have collected 100 crores in share in Telugu.

Both Saaho and Adipurush had received negative word of mouth from the audiences. But even then, they ended up collecting more than 100 crores in share collections. Not only that, both of these movies collected more than 150 crores in gross collections in Hindi too.

But one thing to keep in mind however is that, despite this being a big feat, one must not forget the timing of these 2 releases as well. Saaho was Prabhas’ next film after the mammoth Baahubali franchise which put him on the map of Pan-Indian cinema. And Adipurush was heavily marketed as an adaptation of the Ramayana, so audiences pronged to the theatres to see Prabhas as Lord Ram.

Nonetheless, only Prabhas has managed to achieve this feat that some actors can only dream of.

The box office is a tricky customer, there is no guarantee that a film will always do well. One week, there are multiple films doing massive numbers, another week, there is a pleasant surprise, like we witnessed with Samajavaragamana. Or, there is this week for example, when none of the films released failed to make a dent at the box office.

This week saw the release of multiple small and medium-budget films. Rangabali, Rudrangi, Bhaag Saale, and 7:11 PM were all released this week and it looks like none of these movies have managed to attract audiences.

Rangabali was the most promoted film and also the film with the most expectations but it did not meet expectations. In fact, the film opened with negative word of mouth and the film was also not able to pull audiences to the theatres.

The remaining releases also received mostly negative reviews upon release. As a result, even the box office collection of the films seems to have suffered. The buyers have struggled to get a good opening day hold and at this rate, there seems to be no hope for the weekend too.

The recent talk of the town in film circles is the entry of Prabhas’ Project K at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). It is the first Indian film to debut at the prestigious San Diego Comic-Con festival. It is a very prestigious moment for us Indians and this is all thanks to the vision of director Nag Aswin and the faith put in him by the producers, Vyjayanthi Movies.

Vyjayanthi Movies took to Twitter to announce this good news via a poster. A glimpse of Project K, including the teaser, trailer, and release date of the film will all be announced at the San Diego Comic-Con.

All of this is great, but who is really responsible for taking Prabhas’ Project K to the global stage? It is none other than the man himself, Rana Daggubati. Once again, he has come through and delivered on the big stage for Indian cinema.

Megastar Chiranjeevi gives a hint about his next film

It is very well known to everyone that Megastar Chiranjeevi is currently working on Bhola Shankar, which is all set to be released on worldwide screens on August 11th. The film directed by Meher Ramesh is the remake of the Tamil blockbuster film Vedhalam, which starred Ajith in the role. The film’s entire shooting part got wrapped up recently. Chiranjeevi also finished dubbing his part for the film.

Meanwhile, the news about Chiranjeevi’s next film has been doing the rounds for a few days that he will be working with director Kalyan Krishna on a rural entertainer. Though the official announcement was not given, everyone was fixed that this will be the next theatrical release of Chiranjeevi. It was reported that it is a remake of the Malayalam film Bro Daddy, which is now said to be false.

Today, Chiranjeevi gave a hint about his next film. He took to his Twitter account to inform he is going to the US on a short holiday with his wife Surekha to refresh and rejuvenate before he joins the shoot of the next film, a hilarious family entertainer being produced by Gold Box Entertainments which is owned by Sushmita, his daughter.

As said above, the film will be directed by Kalyan Krishna and produced by Sushmitha Konidela. The film, which will also star Sree Leela and Siddhu Jonnalagadda is touted to be a full-fledged family entertainer. Moreover, according to the latest update, the film will be made with a fresh story, and it is not a remake of Bro Daddy.
