Deewana Review: Simple, Sincere, and Uneven

0
Movie Name Deewana
Rating 2.75/5
Cast Harshith Reddy, Smeha Manimegalai, Naresh Vijay Krishna, Jhansi, Jeevan Kumar, Balagam Venu
Director Sreekanth Sangishetty
Produced By Arha Media, V Studios
Release Date June 20th, 2026

Harshith Reddy, the young actor who impressed audiences with his acting in films like Mail (OTT) and Subham, comes up with a love story called Deewana today. He was also seen in a supporting role in Kalki 2898 AD. Let us find out what he has in store for audiences in this Deewana review.

Story

Munna (Harshith Reddy) is a boy who lives in the Old City. Despite completing his degree, he does not try for a job. His daily routine is to spend time with friends and have quarrels with local guys.

On a fateful day, Munna falls in love with Amulya alias Ammu (Smeha Manimeghalai) at first sight. He searches for her and finds that she works in a Mee-Seva Center. He pursues her daily with several excuses, but she does not respond to his advances. He tries to get an answer from her, and she throws a challenge to him in return.

What is that challenge? Does Ammu really love Munna? What are his parents’ reactions to his acts? Answers to all these questions form the crux of Deewana.

Performances

Harshith Reddy is perfect as the old city boy. He is also successful in showing emotions according to the situation. Actress Smeha Manimeghalai debuts with this film, and she does a good job in her role, adding emotional weight to the film as well.

Senior Actor Naresh has a few scenes to his name in which he does well, and one feels he could have been used better. Jhansi is natural in her mother’s role, while Venu Yeldandi makes his presence felt with a crucial scene in the second half. Raghu Karumanchi, Jeevan Reddy, and other actors who played hero’s friends roles are adequate.

Analysis

Directed by Srikanth Sangishetti, Deewana looks like any other love story from Telugu Cinema, but with a different twist attached to it. The story is about what happens after a girl comes into the life of a young man who recklessly roams around with friends.

The first half shows the aimless lifestyle of the hero, with scenes of his friends and local fights. The scenes in which Hero follows and pursues Ammu are also routine, with a couple of fun moments working well. Near the interval, the director gives a big twist, turning the atmosphere of the film.

Naturally, the second half takes a serious turn. The police station scene is emotional, and a few scenes involving Hero and his parents work well afterward. Similar to Dacoit, Deewana relies on emotional depth in its latter portions. Munna’s efforts to get a government job and his struggles look cinematic. The drama around Heroine’s decision works well, and the climax, where an expected but poignant reveal happens, closes the film on a good note.

Positives

  • Harshith Reddy’s Performance
  • Interval Twist
  • Emotional Scenes in the Second Half
  • Suitable Climax

Negatives

  • Routine Scenes in the First Half
  • Cheap Production Values in a few places
  • The Parents Track Could Have Been Handled Better
  • Some Logical Flaws

Deewana Review – Final Verdict

Deewana is a typical youthful love story with a serious turn. The performance of the lead pair, music, and the emotional core make sure that the film works for the most part. Though it has some uneven and clichéd parts, it ends up as a decent watch. You can check more details about the film on IMDb.

0

Allu Arjun fans have delightful news as the cult classic Arya officially re-releases worldwide in theaters on July 24, 2026. The Sukumar-directed romantic drama returns in a newly remastered 4K format, marking a major pan-India event for the beloved blockbuster.

Allu Arjun Arya Returns in 4K Format

The 2004 blockbuster will hit screens across India in three languages—Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam. The 4K remastered version promises to bring new life to the timeless romantic drama that launched Allu Arjun to stardom and earned him his first Nandi Special Jury Award.

Fans throughout Telugu-speaking states and across India are eagerly anticipating the chance to relive iconic tracks like “Feel My Love” and “Aa Ante Amalapuram” on the big screen. The theatrical experience will let audiences rediscover their favorite scenes from this beloved classic in enhanced visual quality.

The Sukumar Classic That Changed Careers

Arya) played a pivotal role in establishing Allu Arjun as a leading star. Directed by Sukumar in his directorial debut, the narrative follows Arya, a free-spirited and optimistic young man who finds himself drawn to Geetha, an introverted girl.

The central conflict arises because Geetha is already involved with Ajay, an arrogant and possessive college bully. The film’s fresh take on romance and Sukumar’s innovative storytelling made it a trendsetter in Telugu cinema, launching both the director and actor into successful careers.

Re-Release Trend Continues

This pan-India re-release joins the recent trend of classic Allu Arjun films returning to theaters. Earlier this year, Race Gurram collected ₹2 crore on its opening day in April 2026, showcasing the strong demand for re-releases of the actor’s blockbusters in premium formats.

Anniyan Turns 21 – Revisiting Shankar’s Magnum Opus

0

The story dates back to mid 2000s when Shankar’s Anniyan hit the big screens amidst high expectations. Starring Vikram in the lead role, it went on become a major commercial success, and a highly-celebrated work of Tamil cinema.

Touted on a lavish budget of ₹26 crore, Anniyan held the record as the most expensive Indian film ever made during its time. An ambitious project from writer-director Shankar Shanmugam, it was praised for its novel theme, special effects, technical finesse, and the career-defining performance of ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram.

Pioneering Themes

Anniyan is ofte cited as one of the earliest Indian films that dealt with mental health disorders, and perhaps the only mainstream work to explore Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD) in detail. It features Vikram as an advocate, a fashion model, and an infamous vigilante who murders corrupt individuals post sunset.

Sadha, who plays the role of Nandini, Vikram’s love interest, was actually not the first choice of the makers. Yes, it was indeed Aishwarya Rai, who was first approached with the script but remained unavailable due to prior film commitments. Prakash plays a key supporting role, and is till date the only Shankar-directorial he has performed in. Vivek brings in some good laughter to this otherwise serious social commentary.

The OG Pan-Indian Film

What makes Anniyan even more memorable is cross-cultural success; a Telugu-dubbed version of the film, titled Aparichitudu, was released to equally rave reviews from audiences and had had an excellent run at the ticket window. Two decades down the line, it is noted for its viewership in the Hindi belt.

All in all, Anniyan remains a testament to Shankar’s unparalleled vision, Vikram’s three-shaded performance, and Harris Jayaraj’s soulful music. A cult phenomenon of its era, it holds a special place in the folklore of Tamil cinema.

Cocktail 2 Review: Glamorous But Emotionally Hollow

0
Movie Name Cocktail 2
Rating 2.5/5
Cast Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Rashmika Mandanna, Sanjay Dutt
Director Homi Adajania
Produced By Maddock Films, Luv Films
Release Date June 19th, 2026

Cocktail 2 is a sequel to the 2012 Bollywood hit Cocktail, bringing together Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna in a modern love triangle. The trio’s pairing was announced last year, creating massive buzz among fans. Released in theaters on June 19, 2026, this romantic drama promises glamour and emotions—but does it deliver? Here’s our review.

Cocktail 2 Story

Kunal (Shahid Kapoor) has been in a committed relationship with Diya (Rashmika Mandanna) for many years. However, when the free-spirited Ally (Kriti Sanon) enters their lives, the friendship between the three transforms into a complicated love triangle. Who does Kunal choose? What happens to their bond? That’s the crux of Cocktail 2.

Performances

Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna give sincere performances and try to carry the film on their shoulders. All three actors look good on screen and share decent chemistry. However, their efforts are let down by poorly written characters that lack emotional depth. With stronger character development, they could have delivered much more impactful performances.

Cocktail 2 Review: Analysis

Directed by Homi Adjania, Cocktail 2 attempts to blend contemporary commentary on modern relationships with the formulaic structure of a Bollywood romantic triangle. The lead trio is perfectly cast, and the film’s premise has genuine potential.

Visually, the film is stunning. The Sicily backdrop looks grand, and the cinematography captures the glamour beautifully. The songs and background score are pleasant and suit the mood. But the core problem is glaring: despite revolving around modern relationships, the film lacks the strong emotional conflict needed to sustain audience interest.

The first half focuses on parties and casual fun, offering a few good moments and sharp dialogues. The second half shifts to emotional territory but only gets things right towards the climax. The biggest letdown? The emotional bonding between the leads never feels authentic or moving.

In love dramas, audiences must connect with the characters’ inner conflicts. Cocktail 2 fails here. The characters behave inconsistently, making it hard to understand their motivations even during emotional scenes.

Rashmika Mandanna‘s character arc is poorly designed and underdeveloped. Kriti Sanon‘s role starts promisingly but loses steam midway. Shahid Kapoor fares better than both female leads, but his character fails to deliver the expected balance of charm and depth.

Positives

  • Lead Cast Performance
  • Stunning Visuals and Music
  • A Few Sharp Dialogues
  • Engaging Climax

Negatives

  • Flat and Unconvincing Screenplay
  • Forced Emotional Moments
  • Poorly Written Characters
  • Lack of Emotional Depth

Cocktail 2 Review – Final Verdict

Cocktail 2 has glamour, beautiful visuals, pleasant music, and a few engaging moments that work in its favor. But the lack of strong emotions, authentic character writing, and compelling conflict reduces this modern love triangle to an ordinary, forgettable affair. If you’re a fan of the lead actors, it’s a one-time watch—but don’t expect the magic of the original.

Maa Inti Bangaaram Review: Watchable Action Drama

0
Movie Name Maa Inti Bangaaram
Rating 2.75/5
Cast Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Gulshan Devaiah, Diganth Manchale, Gautami, Sreemukhi, Anand, Lakshmi, Srinivas Gavireddy, Manjusha
Director B.V. Nandini Reddy
Produced By Tralala Moving Pictures
Release Date June 19th, 2026

Maa Inti Bangaaram is an action-comedy-drama starring Samantha in the lead role, released in theatres today on 19 June 2026. Directed by Nandini Reddy and produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj Nidimoru, and Himank Reddy Duvvuru under Tralala Moving Pictures, the film tells the story of a woman from a traditional household hiding a deadly and violent past.

This marks Samantha’s return as a lead heroine after her special appearances in recent films, reuniting with director Nandini Reddy for an action-packed role.

Maa Inti Bangaaram Story

Doctor Anirudh (Diganth) returns home after eloping and marrying an orphan, Swarna (Samantha Ruth Prabhu), for his sister’s marriage. The couple tries to rebuild their relationship with the family. But little does Anirudh and his family know about Swarna’s secret past and her connection with a dangerous criminal, Karuna (Gulshan Devaiah), who is in jail.

The rest of the story is about how Swarna saves her family from danger while confronting the wounds of her past.

Performances

Samantha plays the lead role, and her screen presence and performance are neat. Though nothing is particularly challenging in the character, she brings impact with her acting. However, her dubbing feels off here and there.

Gulshan Devaiah plays the second crucial role in the film, but the character does not offer him any scope, and he is underutilized throughout. Gautami, Anand, Chaityanya Krishna, Sreemukhi, Gavireddy Sreenivas, senior actress Srilakshmi, and others are okay in their respective roles.

Analysis

During the promotions, director Nandini Reddy stated that Maa Inti Bangaaram to Samantha is what Baasha is to Rajinikanth. The film’s story is certainly similar, where the protagonist has a violent past but wants to live a peaceful life with loved ones.

The story has ample scope to deliver an engaging action drama with highs and emotions. However, Nandini Reddy and writer Raj succeed only in parts in achieving their goal. The film takes a simple start, and the fun scenes between Swarna and her friend during the cooking sequences work well.

The action portions could have been handled better. Some effective lead-in scenes or buildup to those sequences could have brought more effectiveness. The flashback part is too standard, and it does not deliver the expected high or thrill.

The second half starts well with the scene between Swarna and Karuna. The bus fight has to be the best sequence of the film. Thereafter, some emotional and dramatic moments arrive, with the pre-climax part working fine.

The climax fight appears lengthy, but it delivers a decent ending for the film. Overall, the film does not have many bad parts, but it misses taking the plot points to the next level.

Positives

  • Samantha’s screen presence
  • First half-hour engagement
  • Bus fight sequence
  • Decent climax

Negatives

  • Unexciting flashback
  • Villain’s character not used well
  • The screenplay could have been tighter
  • Underutilized supporting cast

Maa Inti Bangaaram Review – Final Verdict

Maa Inti Bangaaram is a watchable effort that could have been much better with stronger writing and a tighter screenplay. Samantha’s screen presence, a few engaging moments, and a decent climax work well for it. While the film delivers an adequate action drama experience, it falls short of being the career-defining film it aimed to be.

Rajamouli Next Movie: Ram Charan Rumors Debunked

0

Recent rumors about SS Rajamouli‘s next movie have flooded social media, claiming Ram Charan will collaborate with the ace director after Varanasi. However, sources close to Rajamouli have confirmed these reports are completely false.

Rajamouli Focused Only on Varanasi

Currently, India’s biggest director is fully committed to Varanasi, his ambitious project with Mahesh Babu. According to reliable industry sources, SSR has not discussed or finalized any project beyond this magnum opus. The rumors suggesting Ram Charan is locked for Rajamouli’s next film have no factual basis.

Future Plans After Varanasi

The success and reception of Varanasi will determine the genre and theme of Rajamouli’s subsequent project. With Varanasi, the filmmaker aims to expand his footprint in the Hollywood market as well. Therefore, committing to any new project or casting at this stage is premature.

Until Varanasi releases, any news about Rajamouli’s next hero remains pure speculation. Fans should wait for official announcements rather than believing unverified social media rumors.
