Prabhas Turns King of Franchises

0

After the massive success of the Baahubali series, Prabhas has become a true pan-Indian star, gaining popularity across languages and regions. Now, with several of his upcoming films planned as sequels, he is turning into the king of film franchises.

Director Maruthi’s horror-comedy The Raja Saab is set to release during Sankranthi 2026, and the makers have already confirmed that it will continue as a franchise, with recurring characters. Another film, Fauzi, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, has also been officially announced to have a sequel.

Here’s a look at Prabhas’s upcoming franchise films:

  • The Raja Saab – Franchise
  • Fauzi – Franchise
  • Kalki – Franchise
  • Salaar – Franchise
  • Prasanth Varma’s film – Franchise

There’s also buzz that Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, might become a franchise, too.

If all these projects move forward as planned, it will take several years to complete them. Prabhas already has Kalki 2 and Salaar 2 in the pipeline, showing how committed he is to building long-term cinematic universes.

With this lineup, Prabhas is clearly leading the way in franchise filmmaking in Indian cinema.

Rajinikanth Avoids A-Certificate Projects

0

Rajinikanth’s Coolie received an A certificate and also did not receive a good WOM from the audience for the same reason. Despite the film opening huge, it did not maintain the momentum. With A certificate, the kids did not go to the theaters.

Rajini enjoys a huge fan base across all age groups, and because of the censor issue, his film Lokesh lost some sections of the audience. After Coolie, Rajinikanth seems to have decided to avoid A-Certificate films and gangster or violent films.

Rajinikanth is interested in doing family entertainers with his mark of action. This is the reason that the superstar is showing interest in collaborating with Nelson continuously and denies the Lokesh Kanagaraj project.

Rajinikanth says no to Violent or Gangster Films

The latest buzz suggests that after finishing Jailer 2, Nelson will direct the most hyped multi-starrer of Kamal Haasan – Rajinikanth. The post-production work of the Jailer sequel will take some time, and Nelson is also known for taking a good amount of time to do pre-production for his next project.

So, in this gap, Rajinikanth is planning an entertainer, and he is now listening to several scripts. There is a buzz that Sundar C has narrated a line to the veteran star, and he is yet to make a decision.

K-Ramp: Breakeven Done in 7 Days

0

Kiran Abbavaram’s K-Ramp was made with a decent budget of around 13 Cr and did excellent theatrical and non-theatrical business, achieving break-even within 7 days of its theatrical run.

Before the film’s release, the producer got into a comfortable zone. Regarding the theatrical rights, Nizam was sold for 2 Cr, Ceeded for 1.25 Cr, Andhra for 3 Cr, and ROI and Overseas combined for around 1 Cr. With this, the film’s worldwide theatrical business finished at over 7 Cr.

K-Ramp achieves break-even and is all set for a good 2nd weekend

So, including expenses, K-Ramp’s break-even was valued around 17 Cr gross, and the film achieved the target on the 7th day. For 7 days, the film has collected around 17 Cr gross, and it is expected to have a good 2nd weekend at the box office, as there are no major films getting released this weekend.

Fauzi, starring Prabhas and directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, is one of the most anticipated Telugu films set to release next year. There has been strong buzz that the film won’t be a standalone story, and now, the director has officially confirmed that Fauzi will have a sequel.

For the past few days, reports in the film industry suggested that Fauzi would be part of a franchise. It was also said that Hanu, known for Sita Ramam, had already discussed the idea with Prabhas.

Fauzi Sequel Explores Different World – Says Hanu Raghavapudi

Now, the news is confirmed. Hanu Raghavapudi revealed that Fauzi will showcase one side of Prabhas’s character and world, while the sequel will explore another dimension. He added that the story is inspired by real events from the colonial era that ended in tragedy, but could have been fairy tales in a different reality.

With this announcement, excitement around Fauzi has grown even stronger, as fans look forward to a larger cinematic journey with Prabhas in the lead.

Thaman’s Akhanda 2 BGM — Not Everyone’s Impressed

0

Akhanda 2’s blasting roar, the glimpse released earlier today, received a positive response for Balakrishna’s look and typical Boyapati Sreenu style, but Thaman’s BGM is not being liked by everyone.

Normally, for Balakrishna’s film, Thaman’s BGM dominates everyone’s work, and for the first part of Akhanda, Thaman’s BGM is the biggest asset, and everyone praised him for the thumping background score.

But surprisingly, Thaman’s BGM for Akhanda 2, Blasting Roar, did not work for all, and only a section of online users liked it, while the rest of the people did not like it.

If we observe the production handle’s tweet, most of the people have quoted and posted that the background score given by Thamn was not that great.  The music director should reverse the public opinion with the upcoming promotional content of the film.

Sukumar’s Wife Turns Producer

0

Director Sukumar’s wife, Tabitha Sukumar, is stepping into film production with her new banner, Tabitha Sukumar Films. Her first project is an exciting sequel to the 2015 blockbuster Kumari 21F, titled Kumari 22F.

The original film, starring Raj Tharun and Hebah Patel, was a big hit at the box office. Now, the team is planning to continue the story, with Sukumar’s wife Tabitha making her debut as a producer.

Earlier in July 2024, Tabitha worked as a presenter for the film Maruthinagar Subramanyam, which starred Rao Ramesh. Recently, her daughter, Sukriti Veni Bandreddi, made her acting debut in Gandhi Tatha Chettu and won the National Award for Best Child Actor.

Sukumar was the writer and producer of Kumari 21F, which told the story of a 21-year-old woman named Kumari who faces harsh judgments from society. The film explored themes of love, trust, and personal freedom.

With Kumari 22F, the makers aim to bring a fresh chapter to the story, and fans are eager to see how the sequel unfolds under Tabitha’s new production banner.

Suriya’s Karuppu Eyeing Pongal Release

0

Suriya’s Karuppu did not announce its release date till now, and there was a buzz that it was planned for a Diwali release, but due to pending non-theatrical deals, the film was pushed to Summer 2026.

The team is considering multiple release options, such as the Republic Day weekend, a February release, and an early summer release, and the latest information is that the makers of Karuppu are also looking at a Pongal release as one of the options.

Can Suriya’s Karuppu face big films at Pongal-2026?

Vijay’s Jana Nayagan and Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi have already been announced for Pongal release, and facing competition with these two films will definitely be tough for Suriya and Prabhas—Maruthi’s The Raja Saab Tamil version will also be there for Pongal.

In Telugu, there will definitely be no screens for dubbed films, as the theaters will be packed with Telugu releases. Maybe the Karuppu team is thinking that one of the Tamil films for the festival, Jana Nayagan or Parasakthi, might be postponed, and then they will fill that slot.

NTR – Nelson Project Postponed ?

0

NTR and Tamil Director Nelson announced a film under Naga Vamsi’s production, and the film was all set to start next year, according to the actor’s film order. However, the latest news is that the film has been postponed.

Tarak is currently working on Prashanth Neel’s Dragon, and he is also committed to Devara 2 with Koratala Siva. On the other hand, Nelson’s Jailer 2 is going to be released in June 2026, and the director always takes a long time for pre-production.

As said above, NTR and Nelson’s film was expected to start in early 2027, but the latest news is that the film has been postponed. According to the Tamil industry circles’ news, after finishing Jailer 2, Nelson Dileepkumar is likely to be directing the biggest project.

NTR to work with Nelson after finishing Trivikram’s Film?

Everyone knows that both Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan announced their multi-starrer project, and Nelson is said to be in discussions to direct this massive film.

If the director works on Rajini-Kamal’s multi-starrer after the sequel to Jailer 2, he will be busy till 2027 and can work with NTR in 2028 only.

Even in this case, there are no issues for NTR, as he has another committed film, which will be directed by Trivikram, and he can start the film earlier than expected.

Trivikram’s film is also being produced by Naga Vamsi, so there will be no issue for anyone in postponing NTR-Nelson’s film after Trivikram’s film. Let’s wait and watch how things unfold.

Rajinikanth Said No to Lokesh Kanagaraj?

0

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj teamed up with superstar Rajinikanth for the first time in Coolie. However, the film didn’t meet audience expectations, and now it seems Rajinikanth is not keen on working with Lokesh again.

Originally, Lokesh planned to direct Kaithi 2 after Coolie, but due to the film’s mixed response, he tried to collaborate with Rajinikanth once more. Reports say Lokesh developed a few story ideas and narrated them to the actor, hoping to work together again.

The latest buzz suggests that Rajinikanth was not impressed with the new scripts and declined Lokesh’s offer. As a result, Lokesh is now returning to his original plan—directing Kaithi 2.

At the same time, Lokesh is also preparing to make his acting debut under the direction of Arun Matheswaran. Pre-production for Kaithi 2 is expected to begin soon, and the film will likely go on floors early next year.

This is exciting news for fans of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), who have been eagerly waiting for Kaithi 2 ever since Vikram’s release. Although Lokesh worked on Leo, Coolie, and explored other projects, fans never lost hope for the sequel.

Despite the delay, the anticipation for Kaithi 2 remains strong, and Lokesh’s return to the franchise is sure to make LCU fans happy.
