0

Tollywood Actor, Varun Tej career has been in a downfall after witnessing many box office disasters. The Actor recent year films have all been panned down by the audience and fans. Him starring Ghani, Gandeevadhari Arjuna and Operation Valentine became big embarrassments and now he hopes of a big comback with Matka. Matka is definitely a crucial film for Varun Tej.

Matka is arriving in the theatres on 14th November this weekend. Made with a big budget the film also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary in the female lead role. The team has also pinned high hopes on the film which was seen in the promotional activities of the film as well. But the early advance bookings are trending on a very low note indicating a bad response. The film needs a big momentum to perform well at the box office.

Matka also needs a strong word of mouth on the opening day to withstand the competition from other release Kanguva starring Suriya. The film should do well at the box office as well to gain a good OTT viewership and thereby good opportunities next. If Matka disappoints, then it will be much worse for Varun Tej. So, let’s wait and see.

Kanguva is picking up the buzz at the right time but still needs way more bookings to ensure it gets off to a strong opening. Thankfully, full fledged bookings are yet to open in many areas and the makers are hoping these regions will provide solid bookings. Coming to the pre release business, Tamil Nadu rights are valued at Rs 70 crores while Kerala stands at Rs 10 crores.

Directed by Siva and co-starring Bobby Deol, Disha Patni in key roles, Kanguva needs to gross Rs 400 crores worldwide in order achieve the breakeven mark. This is definitely a huge figure but with if the film gets off to a positive word of mouth then Suriya can pull the movie towards this figure and even achieve more.

Kalyan Ram Faces Backlash Over Devara

0

NTR’s high-anticipated film Devara, directed by Koratala Siva, debuted on Netflix on November 8 and quickly took the platform by storm, skyrocketing to the #1 trending position. Devara has been marketed as an extraordinary visual spectacle, with grand promises of breathtaking, never-before-seen scenes.

One of the Producers,Kalyan Ram had even claimed that Devara would surpass the Hollywood movie ‘Game of Thrones’ in terms of visual brilliance, raising expectations sky-high among fans. However, some of these bold statements are now being met with skepticism and criticism.

After the movie’s entry, some viewers took to social media to poke fun at the claims, especially regarding Kalyan Ram’s comparisons to Game of Thrones. Comments on the climax, which NTR described as a “heavy emotional ride,” have also come under scrutiny, with some fans feeling the final scenes didn’t live up to the hype.

Though Devara undeniably presents high production values, critics argue that it perhaps leaned too heavily on promotional hyperbole.

Despite the backlash, Devara remains a trending success on Netflix, proving that the NTR star power continues to captivate. While the internet may be divided, Devara has undeniably made an impact on streaming and demonstrates the growing popularity of Telugu cinema on OTT platforms worldwide.

Siva Karthikeyan Becomes 11th South Hero in 250 Cr League

0

Siva Karthikeyan has just hit a huge milestone in South Indian cinema! His latest movie, Amaran, has crossed the impressive 250-crore mark in just 12 days, putting him in an elite group of actors. Siva Karthikeyan is now the 11th South Indian actor to reach this coveted level and only the fourth from Kollywood, following the legendary Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Vijay. Though Ponniyin Selvan also made it past this milestone, its multi-starrer nature places it in a slightly different league.

This achievement reflects the strong presence of South Indian cinema, particularly Tollywood, which has had many of its stars surpass the 250-crore mark. Big names like Prabhas, Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Allu Arjun, and even rising star Teja Sajja (thanks to Hanuman) have all made it to this level. The pan-Indian appeal of hits like Baahubal,RRR, Pushpa i has helped Tollywood build an impressive fan base nationwide.

Kannada cinema, too, has seen its share of success, with Yash and Rishabh Shetty both making it to the 250-crore club. Yash’s ‘KGF’ series and Rishabh’s ‘Kantara’ have been instrumental in boosting Sandalwood’s profile across India. Malayalam cinema is yet to see an actor join this high-grossing club, but with its growing popularity, it may just be a matter of time before Mollywood reaches this milestone too.

Kanguva Set for 60 Cr Opening

0

Kanguva was once poised to have a massive opening, with industry expectations predicting a 100-crore-plus start at the box office. However, several recent developments have dampened these hopes.

Originally set to release on October 10, the film’s date was shifted to November 14, placing it in direct competition with several Diwali blockbusters in multiple languages. This timing change, combined with trailers that didn’t make a substantial impact, has left Kanguva facing a mid-week release with a more modest opening outlook.

In Tamil Nadu, an initial 15 crore opening is beginning to look unrealistic, with some even suggesting a single-digit start due to issues with screen availability and percentage splits with theaters.

Karnataka’s advance bookings have also underperformed, and overseas sales have shown limited enthusiasm, with pre-release ticket sales currently hovering around the $500,000 mark. While there is still hope for a 3-million-dollar start internationally, the numbers may fall short.

In the Telugu market, bookings are yet to fully open, though a stronger reception is anticipated here. The Hindi market, however, has shown little excitement so far, with pre-release buzz remaining low.

Overall, current projections estimate a worldwide opening for Kanguva in the 60 crore range. While it’s still expected to perform decently, the factors affecting its release date and competition may ultimately impact its box office run.

Lucky Baskhar: Big Blockbuster in Tamil Nadu And Kerala

0

Dulquer Salmaan’s Lucky Baskhar has been the biggest surprise hit of the recent times. While the trailers and promotional content promised an engaging film, not many expected the film to be such a success considering competetion from Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran and Kiran Abbavaram’s much hyped KA.

With Lucky Baskhar, Dulquer has once again proven his brand in Tamil and Malayalam markets. In Kerala, the movie is running pretty well and has collected more than 16 Cr gross in 12 days. In Tamil Nadu, the movies crossed 10 Cr mark in 12 day. This is a special achievement as very few Tollywood films have managed to collect double digit gross in Tamil Nadu in such a period. Lucky Baskhar has been a profitable venture in both these territories.

Coming to overseas market, this Venky Atluri crime drama has performed pretty well in Gulf and Europe where Tamil and Malayalam markets are strong. Overall worldwide, the film has collected around 90 Cr gross in 12 days and is set to hit the 100 Cr mark soon. Surprisingly, the film disappointed a bit in Telugu but has covered up for its performance with its extraordinary performance in other languages.

Kanguva release Trailer: No impact

0

There is something wrong with Kanguva. The makers are super confident about the film for its content and quality but that is not at all reflected from the trailers released so far. Kanguva’s first trailer released months ago and it ended up evoking an average response. Many didn’t like few shots & the cuts of the trailer as well. This failed to create a solid impact for the film. Now, Kanguva’s release Trailer released yesterday which also repeated the same phenomenon creating no impact.

The release Trailer had more detailing about the film compared to the first Trailer. But nothing felt exciting producing a sense of repetitiveness. Many shots and scenes shown in the release Trailer felt like they have already been watched from the earlier Trailer or songs. Netizens have been trolling these scenes on social media platforms. This is the major problem for Kanguva. The entire old-age saga scenes were unable to provide a punch till now. And this is the major thing the team is relying on. This must work at any cost for the film.

The film with this pre-buzz must definitely acquire a unanimous positive word of mouth and talk from the audience. Or else, it will be a big disappointment for the makers who have already assumed an earth-shattering blockbuster result. Kanguva is already feeling the heat with the blockbuster success of Amaran which is affecting the film’s screen availability. And Its 3 more days to go for the release. So, let’s wait and watch.

Devara OTT: No sequel, please

0

Yess, the people who have watched Devara which started streaming recently on the OTT are not at all excited for the sequel of the film. Devara achieved an average word of mouth after its theatrical release but became a box office success grossing more than 400 crores gross worldwide. So, this is quite shocking to see even fans not wanting a sequel for Devara finding many lows and flaws within the film after the OTT streaming.

Many netizens have posted few scenes trolling them badly for their low-quality content and output. They even feel that second half of the film was a bit dragged and also opine it had no exciting finish as lead for the sequel. Everyone who watched the film im theatres felt Devara could have been done in a single part, which would have been perfect.

Now, after the OTT release, fans are also expressing the same opinion. They remained silent about the movie’s flaws while it was running in theaters, as they didn’t want to spread negativity. This was certainly a positive gesture by the fans. However, now that the movie is on OTT, they have started discussing the flaws on social media.

Normally, makers expect franchise films to receive a huge response after their OTT release. Films like Pushpa and KGF garnered massive attention across all languages on OTT, whereas for Devara, the theatrical response seems to have been better than OTT. Koratala Siva definitely didn’t deliver a bad film; he delivered a watchable one, but not his best work. Most audiences feel there was no need to turn this into a franchise.
