Megastar Chiranjeevi in plans to take a major break from shootings

The response to the Megastar Chiranjeevi’s latest film, Bhola Shankar has been disappointing, with many fans complaining about yet another remake of their favorite hero. The film was surrounded with doubts over its box-office result right from the day it was announced, but there was some hope that Megastar’s box-office pull might help in recovering the business.

However, Meher Ramesh’s routine staging, with predictable and outdated taking without an exciting script, resulted in a disastrous result at the box office… Now because of such a terrible result, Megastar Chiranjeevi has a change in his upcoming films’ scheduling, and reportedly he is in plans to take a major break from shootings as well.

Chiranjeevi planned immediately to start his next with Kalyan Krishna after Bhola Shankar release and in December, he wanted to plan to start another film with Bimbisara movie’s director Vasishta but now with the result of Bhola Shankar he has reportedly changed his mind and wants to take his own time to decide on his next films carefully.

Because of Bhola Shankar’s disastrous result he must need to deliver a blockbuster result with his next film, and he also has to undergo a minor knee surgery in Delhi and will need to take a rest for some days after surgery also. It looks like Chiranjeevi will take a 2–3 month break to go on next movie’s sets.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar film has collected a meager amount of 26Cr share for 5 days at the worldwide box office. The film was opened to disaster talk and never picked up from there, with yesterday the film has mostly ended its box office run.

Normally, star actresses do not like to play the sister characters in films because they fear that they will only sister roles if they do one movie as a sister then they will not get a chance to play the heroine roles. But actress Keerthy Suresh has done not one but two films in which she appeared as sister to the hero.

At first, she did It with Rajinikanth’s Annatthe (Peddanna) and recently, she once again appeared as a sister in Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar. Both the films have ended up massive failures at the box office. Every so often the actresses get appreciation for their performance, even the film fails to impress the audiences.

But that is not the case with Keerthy Suresh, as in both Peddanna and Bhola Shankar she did not get any recognition for her character or performance. Her fans are worrying about Keerthy’s script selection, and they do not want her to play the sister roles anymore because she is unable to find the success with sister roles.

Salaar, Prabhas’s upcoming pan-Indian film, is now one of the most anticipated movies in Indian cinema. The makers have officially announced that Salaar will be released on September 28, 2023. It was reported that the makers were in the process of postponing the release date to Sankranthi 2024. However, the makers denied it earlier. The film is having a superb buzz in the trade and the audience as well. The KGF series has made Prashanth Neel receive an excellent craze as a director, and everyone is eager to see how he has showcased a star like Prabhas on the screen.

Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Jawan has started its collections hunt at the box office. The film’s advance bookings have been opened in the USA and the bookings have started on a super strong note. Although the bookings were opened in a few limited locations, but it has already crossed $50K for opening day with more the 3200 tickets being sold.

The film still has 23 days to release, and these bookings indicate that the movie will open with record numbers. It is being reported that the film’s advance bookings have opened in the UAE as well.

Shah Rukh Khan has a big market in the United Arab Emirates. His last film, ‘Pathaan’ co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, had collected more than Rs 100 crore in three weeks in the UAE circuit and had emerged as the highest grossing Indian film there and in the Gulf states.

The buzz in the trade circles suggests that the makers are counting on the super stardom of SRK, hoping that the movie will recreate the success of ‘Pathaan. There is a big anticipation around the film’s collections in the USA and UAE.

Jailer, the latest film of Superstar Rajinikanth, has surprised the trade circles with its fantastic performance each day at the box office. Rajinikanth’s recent failures made it unlikely that he would make a roaring comeback. The most surprising thing is the film has crossed Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar in Telugu states and looks like the film will not end its run anytime soon.

As said above, Jailer leads Bhola Shankar by a huge margin in Telugu states. Bhola Shankar now almost ended its run, while Jailer is expected to collect 45Cr+ share in its full run. Though the film faced the shortage of screens, Jailer is getting good numbers at the box office.

Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 became a surprise blockbuster. The film was released on August 11th. With a sequel hype and being released on August 15th weekend, it was expected to be performed at a good level, but no one in his dreams would have imagined this kind of excellent collections for a Sunny Deol starrer. Gadar 2 created havoc at the box office on Independence Day.

Until now, the film has been collecting splendid numbers at the box office, and it is surprising the trade with its consistency. Yesterday Gadar 2 collected around 56Cr which is the highest single day net collection until now for Bollywood, and it had already crossed Sunday 52 Cr. Total 5 days collections is 227 Cr.

Because of the competition with OMG 2, the film faced screen shortage on Independence Day. Almost all the single screens ran at full occupancy and multiplexes at 90% occupancy, which is a rarity for a Hindi film in such a period of OTT domination and Post pandemic effects.

The Bollywood trade is of an opinion that If Gadar 2 had been a solo release, it would have easily crossed 70Cr yesterday. On the other hand, OMG 2 had an average opening on day 1 but thanks to great word of mouth, it held its ground at the box office. With OMG 2 and Mammoth Jailer in south India, Gadar 2 could not get enough screens and ended up collecting a little more than 225cr in 5 days at the Indian Box-office, which itself is a huge feat.

Now it will be interesting to see how it will hold on weekends and if it crosses Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan to become the highest grosser of all time.

Rajinikanth’s latest film, Jailer, is shaking the box office with its terrific performance on each passing day in its first week. After having a fantastic first weekend, the film continued to get superb collections on Monday and yesterday being Independence Day, it took the fullest advantage and registered more nos than the 1st day in many areas in the Telugu states. Coming to the overall nos, Jailer has emerged as the second-biggest first week opener for Kollywood.

Until now, Rajinikanth and Shankar’s 2 Point O was the biggest 1st week opener for Kollywood with collecting more than 450Cr+ gross worldwide. The Hindi and Telugu version’s big numbers were a huge plus for the film. The second position is with Ponniyin Selvan 1 with around 330Cr gross.

Now the Jailer breaks this record as with today’s collections Jailer will cross the 350Cr gross mark worldwide and 6 days gross will be approx 390Cr, and it will comfortably cross the 400 Cr mark today. Overall, it will settle as all time top 2nd biggest 1st week opener for Kollywood after 2 Point 0.

Directed by Nelson Dilip Kumar who has earlier directed projects like Vijay’s Beast and Siva Karthikeyan’s Doctor, this Rajini starrer was successful in creating the required buzz in the audience thanks to its exciting trailer, songs and a loaded star cast consisting of Mohanlal, Ramya Krishna, and Shiva Rajkumar.

Rajinikanth’s extraordinary screen presence and action episodes left a lasting impression on everyone. Nelson made a strong comeback after a failure like Beast, while Anirudh’s BGM was a major highlight of the movie.
