It is widely known that after a gap of almost a decade, Megastar Chiranjeevi has returned with a 100Cr share film, Khaidi No 150, also a Non-Baahubali Industry Hit. After that, he scored 100Cr again with Syeraa Narasimha Redd and Waltair Veerayya.

So Chiru has scored three 100Cr films overall. But his competitors find it very tough to join this club, and they may not even enter next year. That is why we can say that excluding Chiranjeevi, no other senior hero can achieve 100

Senior Hero Nagarjuna is entirely out of form, and even if he gives a comeback, getting a 40 – 50Cr number is very tough for him now. There is nothing to worry though, as the film has achieved Breakeven in almost all of the areas, and it is once again ready to gather a big chunk of the amount this weekend.Yesterday, Leo took a big jump in Tamil, and today, the movie is doing exceptionally well. For the first week, the film has collected 460Cr+ Gross, and today, the film is all set to join the 500Cr club. It is the 4th film in Kollywood to collect 500Cr worldwide after 2 Point 0, Ponniyin Selvan Part 1, and Jailer. 

The film’s next target is 600Cr and Jailer’s worldwide Gross, but it looks tough now. The movie should have a good hold for the next ten days to come close or break the Jailer’s numbers.

Other language movies domination at the Kerala box office

Other language movies’ domination at the Kerala box office is the current hot topic in the South Indian Cinema audience and trade circles. It’s not new or significant if the other languages’ films work in a particular language, which is common in every industry. But most films work at a decent range at the nonlocal box office. However, we can see the Other language movies’ domination at the Kerala box office.

Very few films will enter the Top 10 list of other industries. If we take the Telugu film industry, only KGF 2 is the other language film that has entered the Top 10 list in recent years, while In Tamil Nadu, KGF 2 Baahubali 2 entered the Top 10 list.

So, only event films are entering the other industries’ Top 10 list. But in Kerala, Out of the Top 10 movies, four belong to other languages. Baahubali 2, KGF 2, Jailer, and Leo are—those four films.

Even the opening day and opening week records in Kerala belong to other language movies like Leo, followed by KGF 2. Other language films creating opening day and closing records will  rarely happen in any industry, but in Kerala, Tamil or other language films are scoring huge numbers 

For comparison, Dulquer Salmaan’s much-hyped gangster film King of Kotha (2023), which was promoted as a pan-Indian film from Malayalam Cinema, raked in about Rs. 10.8 crores at the Kerala box office in its opening weekend and even failed to break the record on day one despite having massive hype.

Malayalam cinema and its legacy of producing realistic and authentic stories with natural performances are deeply appreciated and celebrated by their audiences.  Nonetheless, Kerala audiences are also fond of mass cinema and express affection towards films from other industries that adhere to the larger-than-life template. That is why we can see the domination of “Other language movies” at the Kerala box office.

Malayalam filmmakers have made a desperate effort to crack the code. Making Mass films with larger-than-life characters, but so far, they have yet to generate the same level of impact at the box office.

This Friday, Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut’s Sequel to Chandramukhi and Jayam Ravi’s Iraivan, Srikanth Addala’s Peddha Kapu 1, and a small film called Changure Bangaru Raja were released on popular streaming services.

While some films do not work at the box office, they are watchable outings on OTT. Because in OTT, average films also work for audiences. This week, four new movies were released on OTT. They are Chandramukhi2, Iraivan, Peddha Kapu 1, and Changure Bangaru Raja. All these four films are massive disasters at the box office, 

The audience who has watched these films on OTT also gives the same response as the theatrical watchers. All four movies received backlash upon their OTT release, and the response was unanimously negative. Overall, Chandramukhi 2 and the other three releases are unbearable to watch on OTT as well.

Surprisingly, Srikanth Addala’s Peddha Kapu 1, which had a positive response to its Paid Premiers, was a washout in its theatrical release, and even on its OTT release, the film has yet to get good talk or reviews.

Sree Leela is the most busy actress in Telugu film industry right now. The beauty is occupied with over half a dozen Telugu films and works without interruptions. Vijay Deverakonda’s next film, directed by Gautam Tinnanuri, was signed by Sree Leela. The film’s shoot was postponed due to Vijay’s focus on Family Star. Sree Leela informed the team that she could not allocate dates for the film next year due to a massive lineup of films. The makers decided to replace her.

The rumor has it that Sakshi Vaidya, who was seen in Agent and Gandeevadhari Arjuna has been contacted, and talks are taking place. Sree Leela is not presently involved in the project. After Vijay Deverakonda finishes Family Star, the film shoot will resume next year. War 2 completes a big chase sequence with Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s body doubles. Director Ayan Mukerji has finished the first schedule of ‘War 2’ in Spain, which involved action sequences with Hrithik Roshan and NTR, but with a twist: body doubles acted in place of the lead actors. The world of feature films is celebrating this new technique, in which action scenes are filmed without the main cast and then enhancing the actual scenes using technology.

During a period of about two weeks, Ayan Mukerji choreographed some of the most extensive chase sequences in Indian cinema, while Hrithik Roshan and NTR were busy with their respective projects in Mumbai and Hyderabad. The aim is to capture these high-octane action sequences with body doubles first, and then digitally swap their faces with those of the lead actors, using advanced body swap technology.

While in Spain, Ayan carefully chose the perfect body doubles for both Hrithik and NTR, conducting auditions with over 50 talents to ensure they were a perfect match. Before going to Spain, the stunt doubles that were selected underwent multiple test shoots with the lead actors in Mumbai and Hyderabad.

The Spain schedule, which lasted approximately 12 days, concentrated mainly on the action sequences. The film’s team will then focus on the conversational and dramatic portions, with Kiara Advani also joining the cast. The Republic Day 2025 weekend is expected to see the release of ‘War 2’ on cinema screens.

Both the Heroes are expected to join the shoot from this December and the unit’s plan is to complete the entire shoot by 2024 Mid and to release the film, War 2 in 2025 January as said above.

All three hit directors keen to work with Balakrishna again

Balakrishna is in the best phase of his career with continuous successful hits. He has now scored a hat-trick with Akhanda, Veera Simha Reddy, and Bhagavanth Kesari giving his fans great joy. Boyapati’s Sreenu, Gopichand Malineni, and Anil Ravipudi all the three directors presented Balayya in a great way and achieved big box-office success.

Now, all three directors want to collaborate with Balakrishna again. After Skanda, Boyapati will work with Balayya first and his next film will be with the senior star only as he is looking to make a strong comeback after Skanda.
