It is widely known that the marriage of Mega Prince Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi has been the talk of the town in recent days. On November 1, 2023, Varun Tej tied the knot with Lavanya Tripathi.

Recently, OTT platforms have been focusing on creating content with high-profile Indian weddings, and it has been a new revelation in the money-minting of the Indian OTT space. Their approach is to capture the footage of the Big Star wedding and then release it on their platforms, giving them a cinematic touch.

With this, rumors have been started about VarunLav’s wedding ott deal and spread like wildfire on the internet. The rumors are that Netflix has bought the streaming rights of Varunlav’s wedding footage for a massive amount of 8 Cr.

The Varun Tej team responded on this and the team mentioned ” The ongoing speculations around the ott rights of VarunLav’s Wedding are completely baseless and untrue”. The wedding footage was not sold to any OTT platform. The team requested everyone not to believe in such rumours and spread them

Salaar OTT fetches a good price

Prabhas’ Salaar is expected to do record business and collections in the coming months. The film which was supposed to be released in September has now been pushed to December 22nd and fans are eagerly waiting for more updates and the promotions will kickstart pretty soon. The much anticipated Salaar trailer is also slated to be released towards the month end.

Hombale Films is expecting to cash on the craze of this Prashanth Neel- Prabhas combination and even distributors are willing to pay the quoted prices. Coming to digital rights, the makers are expecting around 200Cr as the movie has a solid combo and buzz.

However, the OTT platforms are taking a rather cautious approach and not offering astronomical amounts as they are losing money by going beyond the limit. Every movie is getting impacted because of this decision from OTTs. Still, Salaar OTT has fetched a good price. As per the buzz, Salaar OTT deal is closed by Netflix for 160Cr.

The action entertainer is the most anticipated pan-India project and marks the return of Prabhas to out and out action role. Salaar will be loaded with some breathtaking action sequences and stars Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Easwari Rao in crucial roles. Early Commitments

When a director scores a blockbuster immediately it may be from the producer side or the hero side immediately setting the combinations. Now most of the ongoing and upcoming big movies are committed like this only. The film’s announcement and planning the shoot schedules without locking the full script. The directors are forced to work on the writing side in shooting time which results in creative differences between hero and director. If they locked the full script before going on set there is no chance of creative differences on the writing or story side and the directors have time to work. After going to the sets working on the script resulted the delays and as well as disturbances in the team. The delays also created negative buzz on the film.

CG Works

Now most Big movies especially big pan Indian films use a high portion of CG work. The delay in CG works resulted in the postponement of the films. The directors are continuously failing to get quality CG work in the planned time. Even after putting big money into CG work, The CG scenes turned negative for the film as the audience felt poor CG work. This is happening in most films and the producers, and buyers suffer with continuous postponements.

OverEstimation

Most of the producers failed to make the right calculations on the movie’s business and failed to complete the film within the budget. The producers offer huge remunerations to the hero, director, and everyone thinking the film will do the highest business when the result date is coming closer the business offers are not coming at the producer’s expected prices as in Andhra Pradesh the GO prices are affected for big films which resulted in a decrease in the theatrical business. Now non-technical businesses have also started declining, OTT platforms are not offering like before. The satellite business has seen a huge decline after the OTT’s arrival. With overestimation, the producers put, in massive budgets and not getting enough recovery.

Leo Tamil version joins 500Cr club

Leo Tamil version joins the 500Cr club. Thalapathy Vijay’s latest action thriller has achieved many records at the box office despite receiving mixed responses on the first day. After becoming the first ever film to collect 100Cr Share in Tamil Nadu, Leo Tamil version now joins the 500Cr club.

Leo has collected close to 575Cr Gross worldwide till now. The film was released in four languages: Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada. The Kannada version did not work well, while the Telugu version worked well and posted around 45Cr Gross worldwide. 

Leo’s Hindi version also worked well and collected close to 30Cr Gross, which is a sensational feat. The rest of the collections for the film came from the Tamil version, which is around 500Cr and will fetch another day 10 – 15Cr easily, so it will comfortably join the 500Cr club. This is the 2nd film after Jailer to join the 500Cr Club in the Tamil version, and it is an excellent performance. 

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Thalapathy Vijay, Leo has achieved break-even and profits in all territories, and it has emerged as a true blockbuster.

The film has an impressive cast, with Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Iyal, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mysskin, Madonna Sebastian, Priya Anand, and others playing important roles. Seven Screen Studio produced the movie with Anirudh Ravichander as the music composer.

Rajamouli’s career began with various cinematographers, including Hari Anumolou for Student No. 1 and Ravindra Babu for Simhadri. His relationship with KK Senthil is something special, which started with the film Sye. Senthil was the sole cameraman for most of his films, notably Magadheera, Eega Bahubali 1 & 2, and the recent RRR, but Sarvesh Murari and C Ram Prasad were also involved in Vikramarkudu and Maryada Ramanna. With Mahesh’s film being a visual effects spectacle, many people thought Senthil would be the default choice but it is being reported that PS Vinod will be cranking the camera for SSMB29.

Reportedly, the team is almost in the completion stage of the story. The play of the film and pre-production works will start next year beginning, and the shooting is expected to begin in April 2024. In the meantime, the news of SSR replacing Senthil has come out.

Senthil is said to be switching his profession to direction and is now interested in directing a film. So, if he signs Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli’s film, he will need to wait for many years, so he expressed the same to Rajamouli, which is why the RRR director had to replace him with PS Vinod.
