It is widely known that NTR and Koratala Siva’s Pan-Indian action drama Devara is being made in two parts, and the first part is announced to be released on April 5th. While the fans of Tarak eagerly await more updates from the film, some disappointing rumors are emerging about the film. It is being reported that the Andhra Pradesh Election Date will decide Devara’s release date. 

More than 85 percent of the film’s shooting has already been completed. The movie team is working hard to complete the rest of the shooting to release the film on time. In such a situation, there is news in the film circles that there is a possibility of postponing the release of Devara due to AP elections.

If the film is released during the election time, it will likely affect the film collections. If there are AP elections at the time of Devara’s release, it seems guaranteed that the film will be postponed. According to sources, Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Family Star‘ will likely be released on April 5, and Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s ‘Tillu Square’ will likely be released on March 30, a week before that.

Recently, there have been some rumors in industry circles that, like all other Indian films, Devara might postpone the release date due to CG works, but the Devara team and closest circles confirmed that there is not even a 1% chance of postponement due to CG works.

The team locked the release date of 5th April long back and finished the action part, which is more crucial for CG. They sent all the action parts’ content to the CG team very early. 5th April is a blockbuster and a dreamy release date for any biggie, with continuous festivals and public holidays in the first two weeks and the summer season, which will have a huge run.

Devara makers are not at all interested in missing this date, but the only thing they are worried about is the Andhra Pradesh election date because the latest reports suggest that the elections of Andhra Pradesh may happen on April 1st week.  If the elections happen around 5th April, then there is a chance for the movie’s postponement.

Prasanth Varma’s Hanuman is on a golden run at the box office and has emerged as the first blockbuster of the year. Hanuman had a record 2nd weekend in India and the 2nd weekend was a much more successful one for the makers than the 1st weekend. Overseas, the film has collected more than 10Cr gross on 2nd weekend which is excellent.

In total for 10 days, the movie has collected around 41Cr gross in Nizam, around 49Cr gross in Andhra Pradesh making it a 90 Cr gross in Telugu states. Karnataka +TN+ Kerala gross is around 18 Cr out of which more than 80% of gross is from Karnataka alone where the movie performed exceptionally well. The film had a disappointing run in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

In North India, the movie had a very good 2nd weekend. The total north India gross is around 41Cr and overall all India gross is around 149Cr. Coming to the overseas market, the gross collection so far is around Rs 46Cr which takes the total gross is around 195Cr worldwide and Hanuman will cross the Rs 200 crore mark today.

Hanuman has the potential to easily do 250Cr gross and it’s possible to near the 300Cr mark as well. This milestone will also depend on the film’s Hindi performance. With Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Fighter’ releasing on the next weekend in Hindi, Hanuman’s Hindi long run will also be dependent on Fighter’s public talk.

In India the movie has collected around 45Cr gross on its 1st weekend and on 2nd weekend the collection is expected to be in the range of 50Cr which is excellent.

In total, in 10 days the worldwide gross is expected to be in the range of 195Cr, and the movie is all set to cross the 200Cr mark by Monday.

From Tollywood many films have performed massively at Hindi box office, but most of the movies failed to conquer Tamil and Malayalam markets. Until now, only Rajamouli films and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa have worked well here.

For example, from Saaho all the films of Prabhas have posted good numbers in Hindi market excluding Radhe Shyam but all of them failed at Tamil Nadu and Kerala markets. Megastar Chiranjeevi tried to capture these markets by casting Tamil stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy but that film could not even get a good start there.

Natural Star Nani also continuously tried to grab these markets and despite his films having good content, still the audiences did not turn up to watch them. Recently, Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal which did phenomenal numbers in Hindi and Telugu, but even this movie also failed to put big numbers in Tamil and Kerala.

Now HanuMan, the latest massive blockbuster which is doing extraordinarily well in Hindi and Telugu but the numbers from Tamil Nadu and Kerala are poor. In Tamil Nadu the movie has collected around 2.25Cr Gross and the majority comes from Telugu only and in Kerala, it collected less than 50 lakhs which is a dismal performance.

Somehow, many movies are failing to capture the markets of Tamil Nadu and Kerala as the audiences are not entertaining the other languages films except a few big budget films.
