Tough times for Allu Arjun

Tollywood Icon Star, Allu Arjun who is riding very high with the recent success of his Pushpa: The Rule is also having tough times for various reasons. He happened to campaign for his friend who belonged to YSR Congress Party in AP elections. This stroked a big controversy as his Uncle, another Tollywood Actor Pawan Kalyan too contested in the elections and Allu Arjun refrained from any campaigning for him.

But surprisingly, Pawan Kalyan became successful by winning in the elections and he eventually became a Deputy Chief Minister as well. However, all these incidents resulted in a clash within the Mega Family and among the audiences as well. One of the heroes belonging to Mega Family, Sai Dharam Tej even unfollowed Allu Arjun on both Instagram and Twitter platforms. This became even more controversial.

On the other hand, his upcoming film, Pushpa 2: The Rule is likely to get postponed from the scheduled release date of 15th August. This news is also very disappointing for both himself and his fans as well. The team is working very hard to complete the film but it looks difficult to finish some portions. We don’t know when the team will announce the new date of release.

The celebrated actor who is highly revered in Tamil Nadu as well as Telugu states expressed great confidence in the movie’s content. The film was released earlier today in Tamil and Telugu. Let’s see if Vijay Sethupathi can impress the audience in his landmark project or not.

Story:

Maharaja (Vijay Sethupathi) is an aged man living with his daughter Jothi (Sachana Nemidas). One day, he visits a police station to complain about missing ‘Lakshmi’. When the cops find out who’s Lakshmi, they’re stunned. What’s the shocking reveal and why is Maharaja so keen on finding Lakshmi is what the movie follows.

Performances:

Vijay Sethupathi breathes life into the character of Maharaja. His transformation scene, action sequences, and performance are the film’s highlights. Anurag Kashyap, on the other hand, is totally miscast and looks completely off-key. His dubbing is one of the major drawbacks and looks unnatural. Sachana Nemidas provides good support. Mamata Mohandas and BharthiVijay Sathupathiraja have limited appearances in the film but do justice to their part

Overall, the film is an engaging one with slight pacing issues.

Sudheer Babu and the team are super confident of this project and the trailer and promotional content have managed to grab the audience’s attention. Sudheer Babu is in serious need of a hit after a string of failures. Let’s see if Haraom Hara has the stuff to give him that much-awaited hit.

Story:

The film is set in Kuppam, Chittoor district, AP. The story is about a common man, Subrahmanyam. He quits his job as a lab assistant and starts selling guns to earn money and clear his father’s debts. Along his way, he gets into issues with local rowdies who exploit people in Kuppam. Subrahmanyam becomes a god for the local people as he brings them back to their lands and helps them in other ways. The rest of the story is about how Subhramanyam emerges victorious over his enemies.

Performances:

Sudheer Babu has excelled in this mass role. His dialogue delivery is far better than his previous films and there’s lot of intensity in his character that he’s carried out well. Sunil is adequate Sudheer Babu’s friend and plays a good supporting role. Malavika Sharma gets limited screen time and does what her role requires. The rest of the cast are also fine and do their job adequately.

We are just 2 weeks away from Kalki 2898 AD’s release with everyone waiting eagerly to see what wonders it will do at the box office. Normally for most of the big star pan-India films, the producers will be in a safe position with pre-release business and other rights bringing them to safety and the project’s success or failure mainly impacts the director. Even the directors can brush it off and start the next project without worry as we have seen in several recent cases.

But Kalki 2898 AD is different and a lot is riding on Aswini Dutt and Nag Ashwin. While the film is crucial for Prabhas and other stars, it’s equally so for people behind the screens. Here are five reasons why Kalki 2898 AD must fire at the box office.

  1. Kalki 2898 AD is made on a massive budget. All theatrical release is owned by producer Aswini Dutt. So there is huge risk involved with this model.

  3. Touching the Ithihasas: It is an extremely risky task as the audience’s religious sentiments may get hurt if anything is depicted incorrectly. This is a big task for Nag Ashwin as we all saw what happened recently with Om Raut for not portraying the Ramayan correctly.
  4. Save the theatres: Tollywood buyers and exhibitors are in serious need of a big film to work and are looking for theatres to be filled with the audience. The last 2 months have been bad due to elections and smaller films not working well and they have invested heavily for Kalki.
  5. Prabhas needs pan India success: After the Baahubali series, Prabhas’ stardom saw a meteoric rise. But, he has not seen another clean pan india blockbuster since then and no film has worked in all languages. Saaho worked well in Hindi and Salaar worked decently in Telugu. But there is no perfect blockbuster for him.

Harom Hara audiences report, reviews, and ratings

Sudheer Babu and Malvika Sharma starrer Harom Hara has hit the screens. Sudheer Babu and the team are super confident of this project and even screened limited premieres in some select screens last night. The talk from the premieres is pretty good and the film has received unanimous positive reviews.

A section of people found the movie quite engaging while some found it decent and watchable. Overall, Harom Hara has received unanimous positive talk. The first half has worked out well with a terrific interval block. The second half is slightly low on fire compared to first half with a few predictable scenes but still watchable.

This word of mouth might just be enough for the film to have a favourable takeoff and with Bakrid holiday advantage also added, the makers are hoping for a good opening. The film’s BGM by Chaitan Bharadwaj has also received a good response from audiences.

Gangs of Godavari streaming from tonight

Vishwak Sen starrer Gangs of Godavari released recently. The film directed by Krishna Chaitanya also stars Neha Shetty and Anjali in pivotal roles. The film did well bringing in a share of 8 crores worldwide but fell short of the hit status. The makers have decided to stream the film early and likewise, Gangs of Godavari will be streaming from tonight i.e., 12 AM on June 14th on leading OTT Giant, Netflix in all the Indian languages.

As said, this is just 2 weeks theatrical window from the release date. The film was expected to perform greatly but ended up being just average. The film also has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The making of the film looked good as well but the film didn’t gather great positive talk. The film did more than 2/3 recovery on its release weekend but struggled on weekdays.

On the other hand, Vishwak Sen announced his upcoming film, Mechanic Rocky produced by Ram Talluri under SRT Entertainments. The film is directed by Ravi Teja Mulladi and distributed by Asian Suresh Entertainments. Vishwak Sen has also triggered a controversy by responding to a tweet regarding the distribution rights figures of Mechanic Rocky. The Actor was also trolled for this.
