After Ajith’s Thunivu, which made its OTT premiere earlier this month, it’s time for Vijay fans to rejoice. Vijay’s Varisu OTT release date has been confirmed by Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film will stream on Amazon Prime Video from the 22nd of this month. The movie will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam on the OTT giant.
This film grossed around Rs 300 crores during its theatrical run and emerged as a big hit in Tamil Nadu. While the film didn’t manage to register solid collections in Telugu states and other neighbouring territories, it did quite well overseas. Now all eyes are on the Varisu OTT release.
Varisu released alongside Ajith’s Thunivu and set up an interesting Pongal clash. It was after 8 years that Tamil fans witnessed Vijay vs Ajith clash and while both films received mixed reviews, the star power of Thala and Thalapathy managed to draw massive crowds during the Pongal season.
Vamshi Paidipally directed this family entertainer while Dil Raju bankrolled this project on Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. SS Thaman composed the music for this film co-starring Rashmika, Sarathkumar, Jayasudha, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, and Shaam.
