Story

Narayana (Rayala Harishchandra) commits suicide within the court premises after no one responds when he reports his daughter Sameera’s kidnapping. Advocate Parashuram (Srikanth), who has not stepped inside the court for two decades, files a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) and takes up Sameera’s case. The story revolves around whether Parashuram wins the case, what happened to Sameera, and how Vedha (Ananya Sharma), a junior lawyer, helps him.

Performances

Srikanth delivers a committed performance as an underdog character who rises when grave injustice happens. He does full justice to this role. Sameer, Gemini Suresh, and others are appropriate in their parts.

Ananya Sharma is good as the assistant lawyer and leaves a positive impression. Mukesh Rishi is alright in the regular role of a high-profile lawyer, while Rayala Harishchandra and Snehal Kamath lend depth to their characters and proceedings.

Analysis

Directed by Santhosh Ayyappan, Objection My Lord is an official remake of Sattamum Needhiyum, a Tamil web series also streaming on ZEE5. The core premise is familiar — an underdog lawyer taking on an unexpected case that becomes a sensation. This template has been explored multiple times.

The screenplay follows a regular pattern, but what works is the emotional tone, which becomes more impactful as the backstory progresses. The way the entire emotion around Narayana and Sameera’s bond is built, and the ending pay-off, is impressive.

Though there is a routine feel, a couple of moments stand out where protagonist Parashuram surprises his opponents and viewers with sharp thinking. Similar web series like Vikkatakavi have shown how Telugu OTT platforms are embracing investigative narratives.

Towards the end, the series conveys a meaningful social message about an ever-existing problem.

But scenes involving the protagonist’s family do not land effectively. The dynamic between Parashuram and his son is very ordinarily handled, making the final pay-off impactless. Telugu audiences familiar with courtroom dramas from other recent web series may find the family subplot lacking.
